L.K. Reid is a dark romance author who dislikes slow walkers and people being mean for no reason.

In her opinion, Halloween should be a public holiday, and she also has a small obsession with all things historical—especially Greek mythology. During high school, she wanted to be an archaeologist, and ended up studying law, but obviously neither one of those professions worked out.

If she isn’t writing, she’s most probably watching horror movies, listening to music, reading, or plotting upcoming books.

I Apthay Dylan was someone I wanted to hate but deep down I knew he had to be fighting his own demons .. an demons he was ..  Winworth returns full force with even more secrets and lies ... so much so I didn't expect anything with this book .. that's what I love , when I can't figure something  out so quick.  We get more back story about ash & Dylan both.. so much so ,it'll make you ache for them both ..  I devoured  this book I can't can't to get their conclusion.

    Well if I thought the first book had a lot going on book 2 said hold my beer! The unraveling of all these secrets just kept spewing out. And while I thought there was messed up stuff in the first book well again book two proved just how much depraved it could get.
    Lies, betray, and secrets all wrapped in this one.
    I was glad to see Skylar fighting back and I hope when the next book comes she’s fighting even more. While book 2 went a different way that was previously planned by the author, I didn’t hate it. I love Ash and slowly I liked Dylan. I mean he didn’t have it easy. Although it seems like none of them do.
    I need book 3 because I need to know how everything is going to play out.

    This book is wild. Wild and heavy, just like the first book in the series. Oh, and chock-full of secrets and revelations as well as a few answers but even more new questions too. While not as dark as the previous book, it kept me on my toes throughout, wanting, needing more. An incredible storyline that kept surprising me, plus a hot AF MMF ménage story to boot – what’s not to love? I’m so excited to continue this journey alongside Skylar and Ash – I’m ready!

    Woah...I, well, I didn't see any of this coming. It just...okay, this book was very wow. I am absolutely ROCKED right now. Give me a moment to recover here.

    I have found myself deeper into this than I even thought possible. I still can't wrap my head around these being book plots...like, someone THOUGHT these into being. It's incredible!

    They have such a surreal vibe to them too, like my head doesn't know where to go with all of it but I'm still just so for it. Skylar is one thing, but Dylan? Be still my greedy little heart I love him so much. I'm never going to stop raving about anything Reid writes.

    The burn in this book is steaming. Not just a passionate burn but a scorned burn. So many secrets kept from Sklyar. They expose themselves in such painful ways. All of her friends and family have been telling false truths her entire life. Dylan might be her salvation, but Ash will be both of theirs savior. Dark and twisted this book reads. I expected nothing less from this fabulous author.

    What the bleep did I just read. This second book was just as dark as the first one. Beware, it’s not for the faint of heart.

    Skylar, Ash, and Dylan.
    Was I expecting the 3 of them? No way. Nope. But was I excited and happy for it? Yesss. I still would like Ash for myself, please. 🤣 these 3 are so damaged, and pretty much beyond repair but I think them together they can do some bandaging and taping of their pieces and hopefully be happy! Obviously they are not at that point yet, but I’m waiting for it!

    The order really did some major damage to them all, and then add on to other groups and people getting in the mix,
    The end of this book made my jaw drop to floor.

    I absolutely loved being on this roller coaster of a book. The twists and turns of this book were so fun and mind boggling. I’m indefinitely along for the ride!

    In addition, the relationships between the characters have developed exponentially throughout the book and giving a better understanding of them as individuals and a group.

    L K Reid let the darkness and depravity of Winworth run riot and drown out any flicker of light. The youth in this town were born in the dark and baptised in obsidian, their souls if they're left are barely holding on.

    Sky drowns in pain, her pain, her friends pain and their pain. Those who were meant to protect her have done nothing but hurt and lie to her. The weight of the lies and betrayals comes crashing down on her spectacularly and truths bleed through the cracks in the iron facades everyone wears. Her heart is pushed and pulled and finally finds a home where it beats for love but can it survive the dark.

    Ash rises from the dark like an avenging angel as he wades through the darkness and lies that surround them all. His own journey is one of truth and acceptance, the way he embraces his truth self and has the confidence to go after what he desires makes you fall even more in love with him.

    Dylan goes from the son of the devil to a broken, haunted soul of the verge of shattering to dust. The insight to his agony and pain will crush your heart but his love for Sky shines brighter then the sun. His character arc on this book has made my heart beat for him.

    This book emerses you in the darkness if their world as they fight to escape the demons that haunt it. The only light is in the form if the love they share for each other but when that flickering flame is snubbed out the devil's daughter will rise to burn the world in the image of her agony.

    The closing chapters of this book take you on a rollacoaster of emotional torture and will leave you with your heart in your mouth desperately seeking your next breath

    I loved Apathy (the first book in this series) and now Temptation has almost topped my love for it.

    The world building for Winworth and the surrounding areas is brilliant. Reid has managed to set up such a clear picture for the depravity that takes place in the town Winworth, in such a short amount of time and that itself is such a talent.

    Skylar, Ash and Dylan further saw more progression in their stories throughout this book, which I highly enjoyed.

    DYLAN oh my, I loved him from the short glimpses we saw of him in Apathy and the more i found out about him in Temptation made me love him even more. The switch in focus for Skylar in Temptation, is also very refreshing. She is such a bad ass character who has made the best of the shitty card she’s been dealt in life.

    I am also loving the cross overs in characters from the Rapture series, as I adore Ophelia and Storm. So it is so lovely to see them both making appearances.

    Overall, if you haven’t read this series, or any of L.K Reid’s books I highly suggest you pick one up. As her style of writing is magnificent and there is not one book of hers i haven’t enjoyed reading.
