Arunday's Convergence: A Fast Paced Military Science Fiction Series (The Thieves' Guild Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 42 ratings

The war against the alien horde is all but lost… human-occupied space is overrun while the Thieves’ Guild tries desperately to hold together a fragile alliance of Earth and Wintran resistance.

“Most exhausting yet satisfying sci-fi thriller I’ve read in years.”

As the freak mutation of the alien virus continues to ravage his body, Zach Hilyer can’t be detected by the telepathic invaders. And with NG and LC out of the picture, he’s the most powerful remaining weapon the guild has against the Bhenykhn. Their only weapon.

Sent ever deeper into enemy territory on mission after mission, the demands of the
Thieves’ Guild, the resistance and the Seven super AIs are pushing him to breaking point. But Hil isn’t just hiding from the aliens. His greatest fear isn’t losing the war, it’s losing himself.

Arunday’s Convergence is the sixth book set in the high-tech Thieves’ Guild universe of galactic war, knife-edge intrigue, alien invasion, thieves, assassins, bounty hunters and pirates. Buy it now on Kindle.

“A classic science fiction series in the making, reading on the kindle and paperback copies on the shelf, a real keeper!”

“If you love fast-paced military science fiction with an epic space opera feel that spans the entire galaxy, you’ll love this.”

“…the most exciting sci fi writer that I have read in the last 30 years.”

“Best find ever at a Comic Con…”

5.0 out of 5 stars raising the high bar ever higher

With 'Arunday's Convergence' C.G.Hatton is as ever on top form, raising the high bar ever higher. This book sees the return to center stage of my personal favorite of C.G's characters Zachary Hilyer, and launches us back into the Thieves Guild universe with a blast, as ever knee deep in action and with Hil up to his neck in problems, and once the action starts the pace never drops.

Zach Hilyer is a character with so much depth. Fiercely loyal and determined, yet fragile and naive. There is a burning sense of desperation to him, a desire to be more than he is, or that he thinks of himself, that if the perfect reflection of the desperation of  events in which he is embroiled.

The rich complexity of C.G's universe rolls over you as events keep moving, yet the grand scope of it all is never lost in action. There is such depth to all this, so many interlinked lives, so many threads of plot woven into the whole, that it would be all too easy to lose sight of them within the hectic pace of the story. Yet somehow while never letting up that pace, the greater stage and the sense of Hil being merely the eye of the hurricane is never lost. Though there are no calm waters in the eye of this storm. The galaxy is in flames, humanity, faced with extinction has turned on itself, and events have moved long past the point of no return, the point from which there is no way to win.

The only problem with this novel is that when you reach the end, you left panting for breath, emotionally exhausted and waiting for the next...

5.0 out of 5 stars When's the next one please?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 3, 2020
OK, don't be put off by the term Thieves' Guild, this is not a swords and sorcery thing, it's a fast pace space opera with a multitude of well fleshed out races (Apart from the secretive ones, but I digress!), characters and background history.
    I'll admit I'm hooked.
The series starts with a story about a couple of operatives who work for the Thieves' Guild, who basically do what it says on the tin, they're the elite, have access to advanced training and equipment, and are generally pretty kick ass.... but then things go a bit weird. No details, as I hate spoilers, but it's good, full of unexpected twists, backstabbing and general unpleasantness...

This story centres around Hil, one of the main players in the series... I don't want to give too much away, but it deals with his gradual post human evolution... sort of, but it's really not that simple! Seriously, buy the whole set, make sure you have a couple of days free... and just read the lot. You won't regret it.

CG Hatton is growing as an author as her creation moves along. Character getting to be really interesting and the plot twist not at all what I was expecting.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!

There is a point when reading a series from an author with various stories/timelines/characters that you worry how the author can juggle all this and maintain the readers interest/expectations...well bless me CG Hatton has done this for me since her 1st book!! Same universe, different characters story lines and not one disappointing book/storyline yet. Since my very 1st introduction to this universe in 2015 I have avidly awaited each new exciting adventure! I am 53 years old and have read ALL the Sci-fi greats over the years ! And CG Hatton can totally take her bows with the SCI-FI stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars No one messes with the Thieves Guild

Back with the original series protagonist Zach Hilyer through the between and beyond in this absolutely brilliantly written, nail biting, edge of your seat sequel to Darkest Fears.
I found myself on an emotional rollercoaster at times practically shouting at the book as I got drawn into the story.
So yes its fair to say I absolutely loved it and definitely looking forward to the next in the series.
