    This book is pure brilliance! Selina is an independent, intelligent and feisty heroine. Rafe is arrogant, sexy, and a player. Together they are absolutely perfect for each other and you have the recipe for a great read. This story had so many complex layers. I enjoyed the intensity and the fact that there was never a lull. The chemistry and steam between the characters is on point. It was a slow burn, dark, gritty romance that certainly forced me to take moments and simply breath.
    Jax Hart's writing is superb and extremely evocative and 5 stars
    does not even come close to what this book deserves! This book was all consuming from beginning to the very end and it exceeded all my expectations. GET READY IT'S A HOT ONE!

    Once you start reading this book, you will not put it down. It is a very well written, very interesting and great book. The characters are real, powerful and feisty. Kinda like a joke starter, a mobster, a business man and a dog walker walk into a bar lol. But the story is powerful, full of drama, secrets and a woman who is caught in the middle. Sometimes the best way. It's a HAF book that you can't wait to find out more. There is so much emotions you feel while reading, you can't help but love the book and I recommend it highly as a super great read. When I say HAF, I mean HAF with a great story to keep your nose in until done.

    I was looking forward to reading this book but I ended up not liking it as much as I wanted to.
    It felt rushed and had too many side storylines. So instead of focusing on relationship between Rafe and Selina, the story was just all over the place.
    I was also expecting much more BDSM and D/s scenes, but it was pretty tame.
    In the end, Roque Salvatore kind of stole the show for me and I can’t wait for his book!

    Ralfe and Selina are complete opposites, but they certainly attract! I will admit this has a Fifty Shades vibe to it, and I mean that in a good way. Ralfe wants Selina as a sub but loves her unyielding spirit and sass. He has to hunt her down to get her to talk to him. It is fantastic! I enjoyed the twists into the underworld and coming in contact with New York and Chicago Mafia. I am interested in reading the other stories in the anthology. I like Alphas. I like Dominants. I like how this book did not take it very far. I suppose that’s why I make the comparison. The kink is definitely about the submission of wills and not the genuinely kinky stuff (though there is definitely some). Though their chemistry is lust filled and wild! These to have a deep connection and kindred spirit even though they are different on the outside!
    What made this book unique are the diary entries! It is one of my favorite parts of the book. These quick entries give us so much information and insight into the characters. Ralfe became multidimensional, and I cared a lot more about him after knowing how he grew up with his mother and grandmother. I wanted him to win the girl because of entries, and I like knowing what drives people.

    Selina is walking down the street, minding her own business, when she stumbles into the biggest dirtbag in Manhattan, notorious playboy Rafael Vasquez Edwards. Rafe is rich, arrogant and too good looking for this earth. Presumptively, Rafe propositions Selina on the spot. She's interested, but not crazy. She knows this player is just looking for a warm body for the night, so she refuses him. Rafe is not a man you say no to. He knows what he wants and will not stop until he has it.
    Selina's job brings her to Manhattan; she can't afford to actually live there. She's lives in Queens. To Selina, Rafe is just looking for his next hookup. Rafe will be the first to agree with Selina's assessment of him. But lately, he's been looking for something he feels he's been missing. Selina may be the missing piece in his life, but she doesn't seem to think Rafe is her's. There's a lot of powerful and dangerous people in his life and Selina is not used to his world. She may never be. But that won't stop him from pursuing her.
    THIS BOOK HIT THE GROUND RUNNING AND NEVER SLOWED ! THE BACK AND FORTH, PUSH AND PULL BETWEEN RAFE & SELINA WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN DEFINING THEIR LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP AND THIS MADE THEM RELATABLE AND ENDEARING.
    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS AMAZING BOOK ! ! !

This book has it all my favourites being the scintillating chemistry, fiery, clashing tempers, deep rooted fears of being alone and let’s not forget the totally hot sex! Rafe and Selina are simply made for each other! Even if Selina takes some persuading. I loved the whole cat and mouse aspect of The Chase. Although Selina is by far the least “mousiest” person I have come across, not exactly a text book submissive but is that what Rafe really needs? This was a sit and read till it’s done book for me and I ate up every word like a starving puppy. Oh, Mr Pickles ... I fell in love with you too! I can’t recommend The Chase enough.
