The Hawthorne's Girl (Now Entering Hillford) Kindle Edition
The first time I met Gentry Hawthorne, there weren’t sparks flying. No silly fantasies, no lust. I was in love, plain and simple.
With his little brother.
Being a teen mom garnered me enough rumors and stares. Add in the car accident that claimed the life of my fiancé, and…yeah: my name will never leave this town’s lips.
Five years ago, the Hawthornes packed up and left before Bennett’s grave could sprout one blade of grass. Not that I blame them. Much.
Then his brother Gentry turns up on my doorstep, saying he wants to know his nephew. He wants to know me.
Now the town’s got something new to talk about: rumor has it I’m dating another Hawthorne. That I love how much he loves my son. That I’m falling for him, one starry night at a time.
But that’s all it is: a rumor.
And there’s no way in hell I’m letting it come true.
_____
From the moment we met, I knew Caroline McLean was damn near perfect for me.
The second moment: I knew she was one-hundred percent off-limits.
Neither fact has changed. Returning to Hillford isn’t about Caroline, though—it’s a mission. A journey to ease some of this guilt for abandoning my brother’s kid. But the longer I’m here, the more I realize he’s not the reason I left.
It was her. I couldn’t trust myself to stay away.
Turns out that hasn’t changed, either.
The Hawthorne’s Girl is a standalone romance with an HEA and no cliffhanger. It is the fifth and final book in the Now Entering Hillford series by Piper Lennox.

About the author

Piper Lennox is the author of New Adult and Contemporary romance novels Darling, All at Once (an Amazon Top 100 Bestseller), Fake Halo, The Midwife's Playlist, and more.
Her books have sexy and broken heroes, feisty heroines, and beautifully real, flawed people falling in out-of-this-world love. For all the tears, there's always laughter, heat...and, of course, a happily-ever-after worth melting over.
Piper lives in Virginia with her husband, kids, and a Siberian Husky way too smart for his own good. Before she spent her days writing about life and love, she wrote copy for insurance companies. And she will never, ever go back.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2020Gentry is a sweet caring and protective man. He's loved Caroline from afar for so many years he calls so quick. He's not afraid of the rumors but he loves her enough to not hurt her and Bentley. Loved ever page of this book, and love this series!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2020I'm kind of bummed this series is over. But it's good news if you're just discovering it, you can read all the books at once instead of having to wait in between each release. This one was pretty heavy, the subject matter dancing around a death we knew about back from the very first book. I don't want to give any details away, but it was so nice to see some healing happening, especially for Caroline, that we already knew had some hardships in her life. Plus it was nice to see how things worked out with Ford and Easton.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2020This series ended perfectly!! As sad as I am to see it end, I’m so happy how it did with Caroline, Gentry and Bentley’s story. My heart broke for these characters throughout the book but at the end it was back together again. Caroline is one strong mom with a heart of gold and Gentry is a knight in tainted armor!! 🖤🖤🖤
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2020I voluntarily reviews a copy of "THE HAWTHORNE'S GIRL" Piper Lennox did a phenominal job writing this final story to this amazing series "Now Entering Hillford" this is Gentry Hawthorne & Caroline McLean's journey to find their HEA.
Gentry Hawthorne suffers from Claustrophobia and has had a terrible relationship with his father growing up he wasn't good enough not like Calder who went pro football but he has his problems to and also his younger brother Bennett who died in a car accident causing to family to leave Hillford to many bad memories.
Caroline McLean has a 5yr old son Bentley his father was Bennett Hawthorne the family abandon her and Bentley she has three jobs a waitress, unpaid internship to fashion design, and she edits videos for bloggers to make ends meet irs been a rough road for her losing Bennett before Bently was born he was her fiance at the time she was angry that everyone left.
Gentry shows up on Caroline door 5yrs later after promising he'd visit he stayed away be susr of his feelings for her bur feeling guilty for leaving Benbett's son and Caroline behind his therapist told him to go back to Hillford to deal with it all and he wants to get to know Bentley his nephew and Caroline.
This is such a touching heartwrenching storyline the attraction grows stronger between Gentry and Caroline their chemistry sizzles it was a slow burn but when it happened it was so well worth the wait they learned do much about each other her old soul pulled Gentry to her I loved this final book in this amazing well wtitten series with terrific engaging characters I definitely recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2020The Hawthorne’s Girl (Now Entering Hillford Book 5) by Piper Lennox is a very well written book full of emotional land mines. Caroline and Gentry, have a connection that is unlikely to lead to anything romantic. If life had happened differently, they likely never would have either. This story is a multifaceted exploration of what a couple might experience. Their situation, to some, might be taboo, but in this case it’s a rare love these two find that also helps with healing. I get that some may find the past connection difficult to see in a romantic way in the present, but I appreciate the way this author handles the subject through her characters. It is not smooth sailing and there’s tons of feels throughout, ups and downs, comfort and misery. All of those elements make this a compelling story. And, as a fan of this series, I am thrilled that Caroline finally finds her happy and a man to love her just the way she needs him to.
Overall, a truly compelling read with very well developed and deeply engaging characters who bring out all the feels through this author’s fantastic writing. While I’m sad to read The End for this series, I am so very excited for Caroline and Gentry’s HEA. The peek into all of the Series’ characters was an extra HEA bonus. Well done!
I read an ARC of the book from Booksprout and voluntarily share my review.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2020"The Hawthorne's Girl," is the fifth book, and is a fitting finalé for the Now Entering Hillford series, by Piper Lennox. We've been seeing these characters throughout out the series, and now, we get Caroline and Gentry's story. Naturally, Lennox makes her characters work for their happily ever after. Caroline was the teenage fiancée of Bennett Hawthorne, who was killed in a car accident. This story is bitterly raw, with shattered dreams, deliberate misunderstandings, and dangerous secrets. Caroline is a young woman who is left, as a teenager, to raise her child alone. Through her grief, and the baleful eye of a small town, Caroline works several jobs, to make sure that Bennet's son, Bentley, has what he needs. The Hawthorne's bury their son, and then pack up and depart Hillford, leaving a pregnant Caroline, with no help from Bennett's family. Until, five years later, when Gentry ( Bennett's brother,) returns, wanting to be a part of Bentley's life. Only Gentry is keeping secrets. Distressing secrets. The kind that will change lives. With "The Hawthorne's Girl," you can expect drama, angst, family turmoil and conflict, physical altercations, staggering loss, overwhelming grief, small town bias, character growth, resolution, some heat, and lovely romance. Laughter with tears. A riveting romance. I received this book as an ARC from the author, and I volunteered this review.
