The Midwife's Playlist (Now Entering Hillford) Kindle Edition
The night Ford McLean crawled through my bedroom window, his playlist was born.
The day he left, he ruined every single song.
When I’m called to a teen mom’s birth in the middle of a thunderstorm, the last person I expect to see isn’t Caroline. It’s her brother.
Six years, and the sight of Ford McLean still wrings my heart dry. His voice still melts me.
His smirk still pisses me off in ways he can’t even imagine.
After that summer, I swore I wouldn’t give him the time of day. I failed.
But I sure as hell won’t give him a second chance.
Once upon a time, I thought Easton Lawrence would be the girl who saved me.
I didn’t return to Hillford for redemption; I don’t deserve it. I came back because my family needs me. As soon as this is over, I’m out of here. Gone. A ghost.
At least, that was my plan. I didn’t count on seeing Easton again—much less confessing I still want her. That I waited.
That I would set this entire world on fire, myself included, if it could give her back everything I stole.
The Midwife’s Playlist is a standalone, second-chance romance with an HEA, steamy scenes, and no cliffhanger. It is the first book in the Now Entering Hillford series by Piper Lennox.

"...combustible chemistry, volatile passions and exploration of the deep emotional history of Ford and Easton...you are guaranteed to be captivated with their story and thrilled with this author's first book of her new series. Best of all, the HEA is just awesome. I'm a goner for epilogues like this book has, ending feeling so good, truly happy and full of promise." -Kelly, Goodreads Review and Amazon Vine Voice
"This beautiful, second chance story hit home for me in many ways. Piper Lennox truly did an amazing job telling us Easton and Ford's story and it spoke volumes." -C. Gray, Amazon Review
"...off the charts chemistry." -Ashley, Amazon Review
"'The day he left, he ruined every single song.' It holds so true; if you attach a song to a person, for better or worse, it forever colors the song. ...Lots of drama, angst, heartache and of course, romance. There's a link to a beautiful song at the end of book one with the lyrics written by Piper Lennox, as well. 'Where you Go' is a song with a lot of heart, and it lends a lovely touch to promising new series." -Margie, Amazon Review and Vine Voice
"I always find myself surprised by Ms Lennox' ability to take the deep dive into her characters. I shouldn't be." -Dan, Goodreads Review

"I don't know how Piper Lennox manages to consistently write book with characters that you can empathize or identify with, that draw you in with their story and make you feel like you're a part of it. And her books definitely make me feel! I was saddened, heartbroken, angry, and hopeful! This was such a beautiful read with some of the best quotes!" -Silvia, Goodreads Review

About the author

Piper Lennox is the author of New Adult and Contemporary romance novels Darling, All at Once (an Amazon Top 100 Bestseller), Fake Halo, The Midwife's Playlist, and more.
Her books have sexy and broken heroes, feisty heroines, and beautifully real, flawed people falling in out-of-this-world love. For all the tears, there's always laughter, heat...and, of course, a happily-ever-after worth melting over.
Piper lives in Virginia with her husband, kids, and a Siberian Husky way too smart for his own good. Before she spent her days writing about life and love, she wrote copy for insurance companies. And she will never, ever go back.

This dual POV book sets the groundwork for another all encompassing, enthralling and emotional series featuring several wonderful characters you can’t help falling in love with. Add in the combustible chemistry, volatile passions and exploration of the deep emotional history of Ford and Easton, you are guaranteed to be captivated with their story and thrilled with this author’s first book of her new series.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2019I enjoyed reading the Midwife’s Playlist. Easton and Ford have a series connection and a second chance! There’s lots of other great characters introduced during their story. So I’m interested to see how when we get to hear the other’s stories. Hopefully then we will see more of Easton and Ford!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2019Easton and Ford have known each other since they were eight. It’s been a hate-love-hate relationship. It turned to hate the last time when Ford left town with only a note. It all starts again on the night Easton, now a midwife, delivers Ford’s sister’s baby on the local ferry. Things are different now. But are they really?
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2019I loved the story of Ford and Easton. From childhood enemies to adulthood lovers... and enemies... and a little in between. Not only was this story well written, the chemistry between Ford and Easton was sexy! I finished this in 12 hours and enjoyed every bit of it. Definitely read if you enjoy modern day romances with strong female characters and real life circumstances.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2021I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I fell hard and fast for this couple who'd endured the worst heartache. I cheered for them to have a second chance to build a new life together. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I thought it was a slow, small town romance read. It did read a bit slow sometimes, but there is a high school sweetheart element to this book. I did enjoy how both characters grew from 6 years ago. Plenty of flashbacks and POV from both Ford and Easton. Ford is back in town after leaving Easton without a word 6 years ago. Now that he is back, will things change or will Ford still gun out of there once he's done helping his sister?
- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2019Loved, loved, loved! Easton and Ford's start was as two 8 year olds meeting and ultimately hating each other. Until they didn't. Life threw them a curve and here they are years later wondering if second chances are possible. Fantastic read complete with tears, laughter, anger and happiness.
