The Other Side of Someday (Boyfriend Chronicles series) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 2,294 ratings

If you walked in on your high school sweetheart and husband of ten years in a compromising position with your best friend, what would you do?

Would you kick him out, serve him divorce papers, and leave the small town in North Carolina where you grew up, taking his dog with you just to spite him?

Because that's what I did.

I have no idea why I chose Santa Monica as the place of my rebirth, but here I am, in the land of earthquakes, mudslides, and wildfires, starting over when most women my age are just starting out.

When I come across the bucket list my mother scratched out before she died, I decide this may just be the kick in the pants I need to figure out who I am and where I'm meant to be. Stepping outside my comfort zone, I set out to accomplish everything she never got the chance to do.

But falling in love was never on that list.

4.5 ~ 5 SOMEDAY STARS

4.5 ~ 5 SOMEDAY STARS
4.5 ~ 5 STARS What a good time I had reading this story! Even with the couple taking the WHOLE darn book to get together and the fade to black sex scene that I was highly anticipating (hint, hint want a bit more on the couple). The journey to their hea is so damn good that I can’t help but slap a 5 Star rating on this story. The chemistry, the banter, the writing, all those laugh out loud scenes all contributed to making this a feel good fun read. “Can a man and a woman really be friends without complications?” Divorcee Baylee Morgan leaves her hometown in North Carolina for a penthouse condo in Santa Monica California. Taking only her dog Sport from her failed marriage she meets a sexy stranger walking his dog and accidentally gives him a bloody nose. This awkward encounter leads to a morning ritual of dog walking and a game of coffee and a question. Baylee is very taken with Sebby but when they meet outside of the park Sebby’s relationship status is revealed… ”Whoa, Baylee,” he soothed, his voice softening as his brow furrowed slightly. “I meant what I said. I genuinely enjoy hanging out with you, but I never led you on to think that I was interested in you as anything other than a friend who gave me a bloody nose one morning.” The sexy Sebastian Powers is a big time movie producer and has a beautiful girl friend in New York but sadly just wants a friendship with Baylee. Sebby sets out to prove Baylee wrong about men and woman being friends and these two grew so very close as she tries dating in California. These dates were hilarious (Mr. Possibly Gay, Doctor McDreamy and Mr. Banana Hammock-that scene with Bananarama playing I had actual tears of laughter in my eyes) as the two grow closer and closer as he not only becomes a great friend to her but he helps her mark the last remaining items on a bucket list her mother had made before she was born. I was DYING throughout the story while hoping and praying along with Baylee that Sebby would crack and want more. ”I wished he would declare his love for me and tell me he was leaving Mercedes to follow his heart.” Baylee makes a great group of friends in her condo along with Sebby and their Karaoke Pictionary nights were a blast. The story was such fun while I couldn’t take the tension in others. description Sebby’s slow to make a move drove me INSANE and I would have loved his pov and I would love if the author wrote a bit more about this couple doesn’t have to be long. Nevertheless, the story was well written and I personally found the author’s sense of humor to be hilarious which goes to this story being one good read! ”Someday begins today.”

This is the story of divorcee Baylee Grace (Cooper) Morgan. Who comes home 🏡 and finds her husband of ten years and even being brought up together and being so called High school sweethearts. She comes and finds him banging her so called BFF, Julie. She decides that this is her chance to have an adventure and please herself for once. Baylee is the daughter of Perry Morgan who left his company to his daughter even though he married again and had other children. So Baylee is a wealthy young lady who owns 51 percent of her late father's company. The only person she is really close to her Uncle Montgomery Chester Crawford, III, one of the most renowned lawyers in North Carolina. He lived in Charlotte, NC. So after getting a divorce, selling her home 🏡 and talking with her Uncle Monty, She and her dog Sport headed cross-country to Santa Monica, California. She buys a penthouse condo in this high-rise building near Santa Monica Pier. Having been woke up by her 🐕 dog Sport she put on some yoga pants and a top and went to walk Sport. While they are out they run into Sebby and his dog Gidget. They are trying to jump on one another and in the process of trying to get the dogs apart she knocks Sebby, aka nose bleeder, aka Sebastian Power. They get coffee ☕ together and forget to get each other's names and she hopes that if she goes back she will be able to get a name. They eventually get to know one another and decide to get to know one another by playing a game where everytime they meet they ask each other a question. They find out that he has a girlfriend named Mercedes and she's a divorcee. Baylee's mother died of cancer giving her life. But she chose to give her daughter a chance to live. She leaves a journal and in the journal she finds her mother's bucket list. Her and Sebby decide to finish her mother's bucket list and maybe while doing it have a wild and crazy adventure. While they do have fun and become close they realize that the bet they made that men and women could not be Bff's without feelings getting in the way. Sebastian Power came from New York New Jersey area to California to become a producer and he did and a great one at that. He encouraged her passions and she encouraged him. She also made friends their her building. The young lady who cleaned Sebby's home was named Sophia and her and her friends have game night in her apartment every Thursday. There was Sophia and her roommate Lacey and Marcel who is a designer and there is Cora and Darren. The story eventually gets to the where they have to admit how they feel about each other. So I am going to leave you with some of her mother's last words in her journal:
"May you find beauty in the world that surrounds you, even when things aren't going your way.
May you have a sense of adventure, whether it be dancing in the rain or bungee jumping. Experience everything the world has to offer.
May you find something you love doing and be able to make a life out of that passion because life without passion isn't a life worth living.
May you confront your fears head-on and not cower in the face of adversity.
Most importantly, may you love. Love hard and without abandon. Love with no regrets. Love like there's no tomorrow. For so many people, there isn't a tomorrow. Don't take it for granted. Get this wonderful book 📚😊. You will be glad that you purchased another one of her stories.

Great story!! I laughed so hard at Baylee's antics! You will too.

Baylee is a newly divorced woman, she wanted nothing to do with the small town she grew up in down South anymore, so she packed up her life and moved to L.A. On her first morning there, she goes out to walk her dog and get coffee. There her dog tries to become a bit too friendly with another a hot guy's dog. Trying to stop the embarrassing situation, she accidentally gives the guy a bloody nose in the process.

That becomes the start of a beautiful friendship. Baylee's attracted to Sebby, but he has a girlfriend on the East Coast that no one likes. So Baylee keeps her feelings for him platonic, or at least she tries to. But when she starts dating again, his protective streak comes out big time.

Will these two finally get on the same page anytime soon? Or will they have the biggest regrets of their life for not taking the chance for more?

    A must read!!

The Other Side of Someday is the story of Baylee Morgan, a divorcee who leaves her home state of North Carolina, oddly grateful to having caught her ex-husband and her former best friend doing more than swapping spit. With her life as she knew it packed up in boxes and the dog that her husband lay claim to, Baylee's moved to California, living in a penthouse condo and ready to bask in the sunshine and surf and whatever else the Golden State may have to offer. Her first morning, however, doesn't just have her dog Sport humping another dog's leg, but Baylee bumping into the recipient of said humping's owner's nose, which then proceeds to bleed. Who would have ever thought that a possible case of dog on dog sexual assault and a clear case of accidental whacking resulting in a nose bleed could be the beginning of a friendship? And that's exactly what Baylee and New Jersey native but proud California resident and film producer Sebastian Powers have and can ever have. Why? Because Sebby's got himself a girlfriend, one who he's been in a bi-coastal relationship with for several years. So what if Sebby and Baylee connect in ways they've never been able to with other people before? Men and woman CAN be "just friends". Right?

Okay, this book so did not go in the direction I was expecting it to, and whenever that sort of thing happens, I become one happy puppy. As a reader, I want to be surprised, especially since I've read more than my fair share of novels, especially within this year alone. Sebby and Baylee are strangers who meet thanks to Baylee's overly amorous dog Sport and Sebby's quite receptive mixed breed, Gidget. The connection is undeniable but if you think this is the kind of story where two people meet, fall in love, have a hurdle here and there to overcome, and then live happily ever after, then you're in for what I believe is the fantastic, extraordinary, and lightheartedly heartwarming wonderment that is Sebby and Baylee's love story. The humor is easygoing, courtesy by not only the main characters but by the circle of friends they both share. There are nuggets of wisdom offered up by Baylee's weathered but wise uncle, as well as those thrown in--whether unsolicited or otherwise--by their friends who see more than either Baylee or Sebby are prepared to acknowledge. I know this is a standalone, but I do hope Owen Macallan gets his own HEA because his admission late in the book kinda broke my heart. If he were real, I'd offer myself up, you know.

For a book to become a favorite of mine, a combination of things have to come into play. I need main characters that I can genuinely fall in love with, empathize with whatever plight they may be facing, and become emotionally invested as they struggle to get to their HEA. Then the story has to standout, especially when it's one that has an air of familiarity to it, often courtesy of a well-loved, oft-used trope like friends who fall in love with one another. The one other thing that's essential is far more difficult to define; it's that feeling that I get in my chest at more than a singular point in a story. It's this squeeze I feel around my heart, one that can sometimes be accompanied by goosebumps. There are also the more outward reactions I have: laughing out loud, grinning like a loon, squealing in delight, shedding a tear or two or more, whether in sadness or in joy. And while it's rare that I get that combination, I found myself being gifted with it courtesy of this book. I can't stress enough how much I adore Baylee, Sebby, Sport, Gidget, the condo clique (yep, I've come up with a name for them), and dear Owen (non-book boyfriend crush maybe?). I've already one-clicked The Other Side of Someday, and you should, too. Five-plus stars. ♥

I loved the cover of this story. So I snatched it up. The synopsis had me excited to open the book. As I got to know Bayley and Sebastian, I loved their banter, awkward funny moments and the chemistry right below the surface. I didn't enjoy calling him "Sebby" or fade to next morning (I'm too old for that!). It was an extremely slow burn, that we didn't get to really see them as a couple. Overall good story and quick read.

This book was really beautiful. Loved sebby and baylie friendship and developing feelings for each other. There were obstacles to the burgeoning feelings.
It was hilarious reading about baylie dating disasters. The adventures she went on to complete her mother's bucket list. It was sweet and sad too.
Loved the small circle of friends she made and how much they helped her to settle into a new city. My favourite of her friends has to be Marcel. He was so lovely and helped her so much.
    Highly recommend.

What a beautiful heartfelt read. Something normal, real feelings & even though some books in this genre are loaded with sex, while this lacked, it made up for in the connection. Well it wasn't actually necessary.

Baylee was such a strong, likeable h & Sebby such a hunk. Both in long term relationships - one marriage -, the other a girlfriend, but both going nowhere. They just clicked. I loved their friends adding that bit extra to the story. Her mothers journal helps Baylee cope & find herself.

This story just makes you feel good & makes you all warm & fuzzy. I hate saying nice but that's the way it is.
