How to be a Roman Dominatrix: Enjoy getting what you want from the kink in your relationship (and still feel good about it)! (Female Focused Femdom Book 1) Kindle Edition
Why does modern bedroom Femdom have to be so much effort? What’s in it for you? Ancient Roman ladies enjoyed having male slaves - perhaps we can learn from them...
Written from experience by an otherwise normal (!) submissive male, this book is for women who are sexually adventurous but have neither the time nor inclination to embrace BDSM culture just in order to satisfy their partner’s fantasies of erotic domination.
It WON’T teach you to be a “good” dominatrix, nor guide you through clubs and munches, nor drill you in bondage, topping or protocols, nor help you negotiate scripted scenes, nor expect you to manipulate your man, nor urge you into a Female Led Relationship. It WILL use techniques drawn from modern psychology to help you build a strictly part-time Roman version of your relationship… and to make that mistress-slave relationship feel 100% real.
Never feel silly or awkward or at a loss. Always know what to do because you’ll always be following your natural inclinations (unrestrained by consequences or fairness, of course).
Relax and be… self-indulgent, introvert, extrovert, mean, affectionate, playful, practical, flirtatious, sensual, clinical… Meanwhile, satisfy his fantasies as a by-product.
But why are you reading this description? Take a look inside the book and make up your own mind!

About the author

Giles English is a man who does this for real! A lifelong submissive, he's in a female led marriage (FLR) and writes his books while locked in chastity... which is exquisitely frustrating! He *likes* women and is fascinated by the idea of what you'd see and experience if you could submit to the girl next door.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2014Format: KindleThis book is a fantastic resource if you or your partner harbor fantasies that stray close to the outlines the author sketches. If you or your partner are not into, per-say, capital "S" Service as a kink (perhaps you center more around sensation play) the thought processes and conceptual framing is still quite applicable to any "mixed" power exchange relationship, whether one partner is kinky and the other vanilla, or couples in which two partners (or three, or four) are operating at different levels of perversion.
Whether or not the concrete strategies work for you, at the very least the book is a good exercise in empathy for the kinky reading hoping to coax out some mutually exciting kinky play from a willing partner. I switch when doing power exchange in my current relationship, and this book even helped my topping in that it helped me better frame play in a way that left my partner more likely to recognize what was "in it for her" besides the satisfaction of turning on a grateful partner.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2012Format: KindleI agree with Lifelong. A good practical guide, especially for newbies. Not SM single handed reading, but a new, thoughtful approach to the subject. I recommend reading it twice, a few days apart.
To my eye there's a lot said 'between the lines'.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2012Format: KindleI have just finished reading Giles English's latest book, The Roman Dominatrix. It was wonderful. A lot of our discussions in the femdom blog world have been about women who are having a hard time reconciling being dominant with being a nice girl.
They feel pressured by their partners as well as the BDSM community to be more kinky, to be more into BDSM, when they are really just basically vanilla. That scares a lot of women off.
The book, The Roman Dominatrix gives me a different point of view, and a workable method for being a vanilla domme, and yet keep a happy sub. The AVE method is spelled out, easy to follow and fun for both partners. I recommend this book very highly for new and questioning dominants.
