Brittney Sahin is a Wall Street Journal and Amazon Top 5 bestselling author of romantic suspense novels.

She began writing at an early age with the dream to be a published author before the age of 18. Although academic pursuits (and, later, a teaching career) interrupted her aspirations, she never stopped writing--never stopped imagining.

It wasn't until her students encouraged her to follow her dreams that Brittney said goodbye to Upstate New York in order to start a new adventure in the place she was raised: Charlotte, North Carolina. Here, she decided to take her students' advice and begin to write again.

In 2015, she published her first novel, Silenced Memories (The Safe Bet). When she is not working on upcoming novels, she spends time with her family. She is a proud mother of two boys, and a lover of suspense novels, coffee, and the outdoors.

    This is a solid romantic suspense novel. The MMC is an ex-Marine and protective but broken. The FMC finds out about a secret from her past and needs Michael to protect her. There are a couple of twists added in as well as introductions to the men in the rest of the series. The spice level was low, but the romance was still evident between the two lead characters. An enjoyable read.

    Man…I really wanted to give this book 4 stars. The story had me hooked until the last 3 chapters. I loved that book it was figured out who killed Kate’s mom. However Michael and Kate’s relationship ended weirdly for me. Seemed rushed maybe… not sure. Just wasn’t the HEA I expected for such a good story.

    My first Brittney Sahin read. I was really curious for a number of reasons. I wanted to read her creations. I also wanted to read how she incorporated North Carolina in her books. I’m a fan of romantic suspense so it’s a no brainer that I’d want to read just for the pleas of reading.

    I am happy I read this one. It’s clearly set in one of my favorite states and she has done justice to describing the Queen city. Second, the plot was complex and multi fold. Third, the characters were developed well. Fourth, it had enough steamy scenes. Fifth, I like her succinct writing style.

    This is a standalone and also a series starter, so we do meet some of the characters that the other books in the series are set on. Looking forward to reading the rest in the series.

    This was a great read. After finishing Brittney Sahin’s Stealth Ops and Hidden Truths series, I decided I’d dive into her backlist for some more reading. The Safe Bet was a fantastic read! I had already met Michael and his sister in the Stealth Ops series, but didn’t know much about his story. We get to see him in full protector operator mode and he is every bit the Alpha I expected him to be.

    Michael Maddox’s company is hosting a fundraiser for their veteran’s program and his sister brings on Kate to help plan the event. He’s fired all the previous event organizers but can’t quite bring himself to run off Kate. She intrigues him and their mutual attraction is off the charts, but Kate turns him down for a one night stand. That’s all he’s willing to give and it’s not enough for her. They continue planning the event, despite Michael’s dislike of the idea, and the push and pull between them continues until one night. Michael learns that Kate has been receiving messages from a stalker and everything changes.

    This was a steamy, suspenseful romance with intriguing backstories for both characters. Their slow burn romance was complemented by an action filled plot that kept the story moving. Michael is all yummy alpha, just this side of pushy enough that you don’t want to throttle him. We are introduced to some of the other characters whose stories follow The Safe Bet and it made me immediately purchase the rest of the series. If you are a fan of Brittney Sahin or even romantic suspense at all, this is a must read!

    I saw this book advertised on social media and thought I'd give it a go. Not really my genre, but it looked worth a shot. I'm glad I did. The story sets it's stall out nicely. The main two characters are Kate and Michael. Both successful. Both in demand. Both with dark secrets. They are thrown together from a business deal, seemingly harmless. The author flicks her flirty paintbrush with ease, creating a tense attraction between them. This part of the book is pure escapism. Yes, they are rich, they are powerful. However, Sahin makes them likeable and realistic. That's as far as I will go with the plot outline. Suffice to say, dark twists start to appear, turning this seemingly harmless romance, into a tense thriller. The author totally nails this, sucking you into Kate and Michaels world. It really gripped me. The story, and storytelling were that good. I will be checking out more from this talented writer.

    I absolutely loved this book and start to the Hidden Truths series. Kate is an event planner trying to get Michael to agree to throwing a party her way when he didn't want anything too flashy. The more time they spend together the more they find it harder and harder to resist each other and you can just feel the tension growing between them. You begin rooting for them to get together, even though you know Michael says he can't be in a relationship and Kate only does relationships. Once Michael finds out about a stalker that is getting too close to Kate, he sets her up under his protection. Being so close how are they ever going to resist each other! I loved these characters and the way they kept trying to fight their feelings, physical and emotional. Realizing they're drawn to each other and they don't have any control of it. I also love the mystery and suspence which kept you on your toes. Brittney introduces you to other friends of Michael's, with different skill sets to his. This makes you excited to see their own stories and I can't wait to read what's next!
