    Beth and Carter meet one summer, a summer Carter is spending alone to regroup if you will. They have a mutual attraction that grows into more. Until one heck of a miscommunication/understanding drives them apart.

    It's ten years before they ever get the chance to try again. If there was ever a couple that deserves a second chance, it's this one!! It's messy and angsty, painful and beautiful and oh so steamy! Dylan Allen has a beautiful way of writing that just makes you feel what the characters are going through, so be prepared to emotional, yet wonderful, rollercoaster ride!!

    The Sound of Temptation is a testament to the fact that if love is truly meant to be, no force will stop it from growing or existing. Beth and Carter, the story's heroine and hero are truly star-crossed lovers who find each other and themselves over a decade of turbulent and trying circumstances.

    Their idyllic love affair transforms into their personal purgatory, only to become their paradise in the end. The trauma that they must endure, some self-inflicted some directed at them from other sources, is excruciating. There were times when I felt neither would survive. Both Beth and Carter surprised me. They both became stronger and more determined to live their individual lives and their lives together no matter what life brought their way.

    Dylan Allen has written a lyrical and truly poetic ode to the enduring and transformative power of true love. Her style is at once direct, piercing to the heart and sensual, flowing straight to the soul. She has the knack for exposing the most outrageous and unthinkable of life circumstances, showing how to fight and overcome them. Her writing is intelligent - full of bold attitude and assurance that circumstances will make you bow, but they will not break you if you continue to stand strong no matter how bleak the situation my seem.

    This book had so much potential. I really loved it when I started. But it's like the editor quit partway through the book. There are so many errors, it's impossible not to get distracted. I try hard not to let editing impact how I feel about a story, but this one is clearly two separate versions of the same story, and it's like parts of the old story got left in the new one and it doesn't make any sense. I enjoy this author's work, and I'll continue to read her work, but this one was a mess.

    I previously read the Beth and Carter trilogy and I loved it. Then it was revamped to this version, and I love it even more. The common denominators here are Beth and Carter. No one has a love like theirs. They went to hell and back more than once but they never lost the love they had for each other because it was a forever kind of love. They knew each other intimately in the physical and emotional sense. No obstacles or time could stand in their way. Their love is now and forever.

I loved Beth so much and eventually Carter too. They are both complex characters, it’s steamy and has enough angst too! This book has all the elements that I love in romance novels.     The story of Carter & Beth's love is one that truly redefine what love can look like. It is an epic roller coaster ride of emotions that ensures this book will stay with you long after you've read the final page.

    As young lovers torn apart by circumstances, they keep finding their way back to each other but at times it seems the obstacles are too much even for such a love to overcome.

    The plot and sub plots are so consuming, you will have no choice but to immerse yourself completely, turning page after page praying and hoping for their reunion and resolution.

    It's hard to accurately describe the feelings this story provokes and why without including spoilers so I'll just say, you will become so obsessed with Beth & Carter that you will want them to break every rule and cross every and any lines as long as they get to be together.

    You will not regret buying this story.
