About the author

Represented by Lorella Belli at LBLAUK and signed to Boldwood Books.
Shortlisted in 2014 Romantic Novelists Association RoNAs in the Contemporary Romance category for debut novel Bridge Over the Atlantic (later signed by Aria Fiction and rereleased as A Seaside Escape).
I've had what you could call a very varied career including time working as a singer and appearing on TV's Stars in Their Eyes in 1997. But writing has always been a deep rooted passion.
In 2012 my family and I relocated from England to our favourite place in the world, Scotland, and we are now happily ensconced in village life. The stunning location was the inspiration for my writing career and so it's only right that it features in all of my books.
I'm a happily married mum of one with two energetic dogs who make cameo appearances in some of my books. I love writing and creating new characters and now have the pleasure of owning my own bookshop.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2016I love this author and I loved this story just as I loved all her other books..her ability to make you love the characters and their story is her strong point.
Nick is not the usual rock star..well at the beginning he is, but he soon realises that there is more to life than booze and sex.
He remembers Cat, the fiery Scottish redhead and the town she so fondly mentions..and that's where he decides to go.
There he meets Cat and that’s where the story picks up..
The two are not really fond of each other but with time the relationship changes..and it's lovely seeing them change and get a shot at something beautiful.
Even when I got frustrated I knew there would be a reason to explain it all, so I wasn't worried ;)
The author does a great job in bringing not only the characters together, but the love for the background where the story is set..I always admire the way she describes places..it's inspiring and makes me want to explore.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2017As I continue catching up on books that have been sitting on my Kindle for much too long, I will admit this one was chosen in a way that I never pick my next read - solely based on the cover. Go ahead, go look at it again, ladies. The review will wait.
The story itself....flawlessly edited, which is always appreciated. The story has some originality to it that I am always pleased by as well. My biggest issue was the heroine. I have to say that I never came to embrace her, or understand her, fully. The hero is virtually flawless though. There are some incredibly romantic gestures, and the setting in the Scottish Highlands....six months ago I may not have appreciated it, but a certain Jaime changed that all when I very belatedly jumped on the Outlander bandwagon. It's a little strange to put a modern rockstar in the setting of my favorite 17th century redhead, but it was nice to be back in the Highlands again.
Overall, a solid offering. I sometimes have a bit of American snobbery and have difficulty slipping into "foreign" tongue, but I found this one easy enough to ease in. Adult content.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2016Once again my beautiful Scottish friend delivers a fantastic read!! The organic relationship that develops between Nick and Cat is the type that I absolutely love!! It's the stories that have the flirts and laughter, love and loss, and the push and pulls of a persons heart and emotions that pull me in each and every time! Nick and Cat's love story delivers all of this and so much more!! The story takes place in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland but also delivers different parts of the world as visited from the Rock Star's life. I don't know how Lisa does it but she provides in a beautiful way a glimpse into the life of a rockstar and all the pitfalls that come with that lifestyle. You get to rejoice and then suffer right along with Nick as he tries to find out what his heart truly wants... And then get scared when he finds his heart's desire in the most unlikeliest of places...right in the arms of a beautiful redhead named Cat. Cat has her own battles to fight and win... Most of them happening within her own heart and mind as she tries to figure out who and what she can put her faith, and trust, and hope in! In this book they both have to search deep within themselves to see if they can answer the age-old question...why? If you are looking for a rocking love story, then you have to look no further than this book! This book is a definite must read!!! Love ya Lisa!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2016This is a brilliant creation of a truly talented writer. Cat and Nick are perfect, both musicians though quite different. Cat lives in the Scottish Highlands and helps at her Dad's pub, Nick is from the UK and was touring with his mega famous band when he has a terrifying panic attack. The fame and crazy fans are not why he got into music. Nick is the song writer, the singer, the talented guitar player, not the selfish attention seeking sap the public thinks he is. He is fed up with the booze and groupies and wants more. So, following his incident his mother suggests he get away. Nick remembers meeting a gorgeous Scottish lass in London who told of her idyllic hometown and how peaceful it is. Off Nick goes to find it, not knowing he was going to find Cat too. Love, trust, and betrayal have Cat spinning and Nick falling. A great read, a fabulous ending, hope to see more from this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2016I've been reading a lot of "not your typical" here lately. Not your typical jock, not your typical billionaire and now not your typical rock star. The book was a good read it was sweet, Nick wasn't your typical bad boy rocker. Yes he has his share of women but I wouldn't call him a womanizer. He wasn't an addict or a drinker really. He was famous but looking for more. His mom and sister mean the world to him and although he loves music he doesn't love what comes with it. He is a different breed of rocker. Now cat. I like her and I don't like her. She is gives him a run for his money but she runs at the first site of trouble never waiting for a explanation she is just a runner. But by then end i think she finally got it. I liked it but looking for something heart stopping and angst ridden at the moment.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2017I just love a good rock star story and The Worst of Me is one of the best. Nick Dacre is the lead singer of the band Sonic Idols. He meets Catriona when she cleans his hotel room after a wild night if partying. Cat is not impressed with his fame or his behavior. Later, after Nick begins to have panic attacks from the exuberant fans, he remembers Cat fondly and her live of her peaceful highland home. Nick decides to seek out some much needed rest and relaxation so he heads to the highlands of Scotland. Of course nothing is ever easy and cat is not thrilled he's there. She finally agrees to help him and the more she know him the more she likes him. They eventually fall in love but her ex, her insecurities, and her stubbornness keep them apart. I can only give it four stars because cat drove me crazy but I still loved it. It's well written and, like u said, I love a good rock star!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow this book rocked my world!!
When I first read the blurb for this book and knew it was going to be a story that would grip my attention... then came the cover reveal and I was blown away, I mean who wouldn't be!!! Any fans of Brock O' Hurn will know where I'm coming from, even the teasers for this book included the infamous man-bun!!! The only question I had was would the whole story live up to this awesome cover and teasers I had seen... I can answer this with a resounding YES!!!
Nick Dacre rockstar with the high flying rock band the Sonic Idols has one problem, the life which he is now living is effecting his health. After waking up one morning in his hotel suite unable to remember the night before he comes face to face with a chambermaid who mentions a place where no one knows him which has amazing scenary his heart a enlightens with a spark. Soon after an incident lands him in hospital it is pretty certain in his mind he needs to escape this life for a while and maybe rethink his future. Will this small quiet place in Scotland help him and give him clarification in this life??
I completely fell in love with this book, it's characters, the scenary described and of course the gorgeous Nick Dacre!! His plight just struck a cord with me and I lost my heart to him. This is one book that can be read over and over and make you fall in love even more!!
Thank you again Lisa J Hobman for another amazing story with another serious hot book boyfriend for me to drool over.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved this one.
Fantastic rock star romance.
I loved this one a lot. Nick Darce is a famous Rock Star and he's had his fair share of all the perks fame brings him.
But now it's not enough the Fame isn't all it's cracked up to be. He craves more.
Struggling, Nick wants a break from it all. Away from the limelight where no one knows him.
He heads off to Scotland where he was once told by a chamber maid of a little place where no one knows him.
This girl wasn't struck by his fame she didn't care he was a huge Rock star, didn't fall at his feet like so many others. To Nick this is refreshing it made him remember this girl.
So his Scottish vacation may hold an ulterior motive for him. Seeking out this girl. Will she remember him?
I was so wrapped up in this story I really felt for Nick, his struggle with the fame.
I loved how he was so relaxed away from the limelight. He is such a likeable guy.
A great read and I can't wait for book 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fab Read.
A must read as far as I'm concerned! Before we go any further, I'm calling DIBS on Nick Dacre, he's mine, all mine!
I love the writing style of this author and I will definitely be reading many more of her books. After having a meltdown about his career and the way he's living his life, Nick finds himself in the Highlands searching for peace and tranquillity, what he didn't bargain on was falling in love. Cue Cat, feisty and unwilling to give him an easy ride (pardon the pun!). Their journey is heartfelt and realistic. Although I did want to shake Cat once or twice. I couldn't put it down, and didn't want their story to end. Although, end it did, perfectly.
I'm ready for book 2 Ms Hobman, Chris's story please or more Nick.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Worst Of Me - Lisa J Hobman - WOW
I have always been a fan of Lisa's so it was a must to read this book and see what it was all about.
I have to say that I loved it so much, I think its one of those books that would appear in my top 5 books.
The story line is very gripping and I loved the characters in the book, the thing is with this Author I always find myself feeling like I know the characters. I have to say that Cat is a very strong person but when she finds love it's just one of those times when you just can't wait to find out what is happening next and just want to keep reading and reading.
If you've not read this book I would highly recommend it. Happy Hobman Dance springs to mind and I always associate this since day one when I started to support Lisa and her books.
Keep up the good work Lisa, so proud of you! mean this from the heart.
