    It says alot about a book when it takes a full day of gathering your thoughts before you can even think.of reviewing it.
    This is that kind of book.
    One that takes you into the shadows, causing you to hold your breath as your eyes chase the next word on the page. That next word becomes the next sentence, paragraph, chapter, until every single word has been devoured. It is at that time your lungs can fill again, and you can draw that breath you so desperately need.
    Santi and Thalia continue their story in this, the second book of the Corrupt Gods Duet. When I began this book I had no idea what to expect. I loved book one so much, but there was no need to worry my reader head. Not with this author collaboration. This book blew my expectations out of the water.
    The dark and steamy chemistry between these characters could fuel the furnace in every home in the world.
    These characters experience the full spectrum of emotions in this book. We see their fight, their determination, and their will to survive the world around them. I loved that we got to also see the many layers of each character.
    To say there isn't a dull moment in the storyline would be a huge understatement. Not only is there heat, but this story is filled with moments that will grip your heart, whether it be from a touching moment or the action packed scenes that cause your pulse to race.
    Bravo to this amazing author pairing. Kenborn and Wiltcher have really outdone themselves with this book. It is truly evident at how much blood, sweat, and tears went into the writing of this brilliant story. If you have read book one, hold on for the ride in book two. If you have only read The Carrera Cartel books Or The Santiago series, you would be missing out on something epic if you don't read this duet.

    What an explosive ending to this duet! It is very shocking and surprising! The story is wonderful and the characters…just Wow! I love both of these families. They are so intricate and involved plus I enjoy that family is the most important thing.

    This is the second book in this duet. I would HIGHLY recommend reading book one then following up with this one. It has been about a year since listening to Bad Blood and I played catchup for a bit before I remembered what was going on.

    I absolutely LOVED listening to Aaron Shedlock as the Carrera/Santiagos! Starting this one really took me back. Vivienne LaRue is the other fantastic narrator for this story! Bother are a delight to listen to!

    I’m sad because it ended! Saint and Thalia story was to die for! And Valentin and Dante was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 swing them in action again. Passing the torch to their successors was amazing! Swing Santi and Edier working side by side and having Sam and Lola story untangle a little was thrilling.
    The most amazing part for me was the understanding between Dante and Thalia, the way she could see the life through her fathers eyes and what he would’ve done to keep his family safe! Th darkness that you can’t run away from when you’re born in this life, and how that changes you, but doesn’t define you!!

    The story picks up where Bad Blood left off and we find Thalia in perilous circumstances; forced to embrace her inner darkness or face dire consequences. But, after resisting it and her father’s way of life all these years, will she be able to find the light again once she’s had a taste?

    I really enjoyed the conclusion to this intriguing, dark mafia romance! It’s a well written tale featuring plenty of cartel-style violence, brutality, and anguish along with plenty of drama and some suspense. There are also a few surprises, in addition to some dirty talk and several very steamy encounters. Well done ladies!

    This book picks up right from where the last one left off and it was one hel of a ride! I didn't expect the duet to be this good but I'm going to remember these characters for long. This book was full of action, romance, war and some shocking twists. Santi never expected to fall this deep for the Santiago princess but now that he's finally come on terms with his feelings, he's willing to do everything to keep her safe by his side. Thalia was such a brave survivor this time and I loved the fight she had in her. She proved that she's truly her father's daughter and could hold up on her own just fine.
    Overall, the book was intense, with some intriguing side characters, a swoonworthy alpha hero and a compassionate but strong heroine who could rescue herself. I'm so excited to read the next book in the series which I believe is Edier & Ella's story.
