★★★★★"Hell, yes!!! You have to appreciate this fun twist. Love that Declan needs to be a Daddy to an older man. It's definitely different than a typical Daddy kink book."- Amy's MM Romance Reviews ★★★★★"Everything about this book is wonderful: the writing, the plot, the romance, the understanding of the LGBT community. It also has a relationship dynamic that doesn't often get portrayed in m/m romance."_Chris, reviewer

★★★★ "All that being said though, this book is SO WORTH reading. Owen's journey will tug at your heartstrings while Daddy honestly needs a little TLC of his own. Beautifully written."- AvidReaderLovesMMbooks

An age gap, Younger Daddy/Older Boy story
This is a story of a gay young man who has a preference for older men. I read (listened) to it, because I like my mm romance to have (a) different point(s) of view. The MC characters could be more developed, but this is book 1in the trilogy, so maybe that happens as the writer takes her audience along in the other books. The plot around them is quite interesting, the ex-wife who transfers and the twin who dates the same woman as his friend, and the daughter who’s also gay. Interesting. All that could seem much; let’s see what book 2 brings. I lóve John Solo’s talent, how he puts the emotion into the characters, bringing them to life! ❤️

Owen has lost love, been broken hearted, and has lost himself to the raising of his three adorable children. When the last one leaves he is suddenly faced with an empty nest and an empty life! The last night with his daughter, before she heads off on her own, is interrupted by an emergency call from work. Owen's life is about to change in ways he has never imagined! This tale is a must read for MM fantasy admirers! I could not put it down until I turned the last page! I will be reading the next 2 installments of the Taking Care Series! My compliments to the author Gianni Holmes for the entertainment of her writing!

A fascinating tale of a Dom/sub relationship that isn’t the norm.
Owen, 46, with salt and pepper hair and blue eyes, is a Limo driver who raised his three children alone. He’s big, solid and responsible. His boys are 23 yr. old twins, and his daughter, 19, is moving out. He’ll be alone for the first time in 23 years which is when his wife left.
    Owen meets Declan at work.
Dom Declan is a rich businessman, 25, with a commanding presence, is solid and seems older than his age. Declan knows what he wants is hard to find. He sees what he needs in Owen.
The attraction is mutual, but Owen is leery of the lifestyle. It’s new to Owen.
We watch Declan court and woo Owen with roses and dates, with a taste of the D/s, Daddy/boy life, and as Owen learns... he likes the result.
We like each man, we hear their stories, and see their interactions. Their sexy times are super hot and well described, which include spankings. (not BDSM)
They do belong together, because each provides the other with their important needs.
Later, a huge shocker rocks Owen and his kid’s world. We also hear about Declan’s Mom, and then an illness strikes.
I love the couple, the relationship, and their new experiences.
Gianni Holmes gives us a well written, fascinating, interesting story, which continues in book two.
    Highly recommended.
    ENJOY !

Honestly it's more of a rating of two but I didn't do my due diligence in finding out beforehand it was a HFN book and that was part of the reason I wasn't a huge fan, it's not fair to take away a star bc I didn't check.

This book was recommended for a trope that I like to read (older boy/younger Daddy) on a page I follow. I already had it in my library (probably picked it up as a freebie) so I gave it a try. The book highly upset me for the first 30% or more but I have a hard time not knowing how a book ends and I was hoping it got better and very little did. All I wanted to do was Gib smack Dec bc really for as smart as he's supposed to be he's pretty stupid. I kept reading for Owen. I wasn't a fan of the HFN ending it had. I am more interested in finding out what happens to the kids and side characters than to Dec and Owen bc I'm just over Dec's drama. His whole "oh no I'm sick and have zero idea what's wrong fetch me my lawyer so I can change my will! I'm dying, I just know it!" Was super annoying. Although I expected the whole 'I must control everything and don't need any help I'm the fixer in all things' attitude I was highly upset when Owen came to him and was highly emotional and had a right to vent and get a little loud bc his heart was shattered by his sons only to have Dec go all 'you can be sad and pouty but you can't be mad and loud get over my knee!' just no. I should have stopped the book there. But again hoping it would get better and wanted to see what happened between Owen and the kids. I got a small answer for that but I think their parts show up more in the other 2 books.

Don't know if I'll keep with this series but may look for some spin off books for the other characters.

This is my first younger Daddy, older boy story and I wasn’t sure how I’d like the dynamics. I was like the boy, Owen, at first ... chuckling around the Daddy play. But as the heat intensified, it was easy to see how this could work for some couples. Declan was definitely a hottie, and Owen held his own. I’m looking forward to reading more about this couple.

This is the D/b I’ve been looking for! The reverse of the norm was amazing. I felt the chemistry and the love. So beautiful. The writing was amazing, the smexy was HAWT! And the side characters, well let’s just say I love Ridge, and Silas. I hope Ridge gets a story soon. My only real complaint is the ex. Screw them! I don’t care what their excuse was they wouldn’t have been forgiven not for the 15 years and not for the secrets.

    But on to the next!

This book made me cry but it also made me laugh and think. At it’s heart it’s a book about an older boy/sub and a younger Daddy/Dom there is a lot more to this terrific story than that. I can’t wait to read the other books.

This book was very different from other books in this genre which I thought was great.
Declan came into Owen's life at the perfect time, and he was exactly what Owen didn't know he needed lol.
As much as I loved that book I really hated the way the twins treated Owen on his trip to see them. Their curiosity was understandable, but after keeping the secret for so long it felt like they only told Owen the truth because Summer moved near them and they figured they were gonna get found out. And their behaviour towards him compered to their other guest at the restaurant made my heart hurt, he didn't deserve that! I'm glad that he had Owen there for him through it all though.

Gianni Holmes has sent a clear message with each turn of the page, that it is ok to STOP, STEP BACK and BREATHE. Take Care of You is about letting go of preconceived notions, society’s expectations and past traumas that define us as adults. It’s about self discovery and growth and redefining self imposed parameters. Declan and Owen are just starting out together on this journey. They need they to trust, to relinquish some of their ingrained insecurities and to meld together. There are challenges ahead and murky waters to navigate. A great read that makes one reflect.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really moving good book
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 31, 2019
This was a book that I was eager to read. I like the whole concept of the May december theme which I particularly like reading as it's one of my favourite troupes. Factor in, a daddy kink which sometimes I can take it or leave it and the fact the daddy in this relationship is younger than his boy and I was right on board with it. I enjoyed how it played out, and the initial struggle with Owen accepting Declan as his daddy, there was a slight in denial of it in the beginning though not with his submissiveness but with Declan being so much younger. I liked there dynamic but oh my god! Declan and his childhood nearly brought me to tears it was so emotionally charged and moving, the symbol with the roses just added that sweet romantic sentiment to the story.
I was so engrossed into this story and it is probably in the 5 star category but for some of the wrong names being mentioned which jolted me a bit. I would of loved to have more detail on all the fallout from Owens ex coming back into all their lives plus how his kids is going to react though I suppose that will be hopefully revealed in the next.
Daddy kink can sometimes make me cringe but this one was done so well, with hot scenes and just a caring relationship with great characters. I really liked this snippet which I think was quite moving on Owens part

He was the dock my ship had been on the lookout for all this time. Now after years of being a lone sailor, ship weathering storm after turbulent storm, I was finally allowed to moor.
    Really enjoyed😍
