Taoree: Taoree Trilogy #1 Kindle Edition
This is my story… a story of what happens when you trust an alien race. A race that lived peacefully with humans for over two years before everything changed. When all hell breaks loose, can we count on the Taoree to step up and help or could they be the real cause of all the terror?
Three of my friends and I try to make our way back home to our families, but there’s chaos at every turn. We can trust no one—we only rely on each other. And even though we work together, nothing can stop the heartbreak and terror that surrounds us.
Before you judge me, ask yourself this: When there’s danger at every turn and nowhere safe to hide, what would you do to keep you and yours alive? Some of us won’t survive… What will happen to those of us that are left behind?
Taoree is Book One in the Taoree Trilogy and is meant to be read as part of a series. This book ends on a cliffhanger, but there is a promise of a happy ending at the end of the COMPLETED trilogy.
***WARNING: This book is recommended for ADULTS ONLY. It is rather gruesome, so if you don’t like violence, death, blood, and the like, don’t read it. There’s also lots of cursing, ya know, ‘cause it’s the end of the world and all. This is a MM post-apocalyptic story with a romantic subplot… and sometimes one partner is not of the human variety.***

About the author

Michele is married to an awesome guy that puts up with her and all the burnt dinners she makes—hey, sometimes characters are a bit distracting, and who doesn’t plot when they’re supposed to be cooking? They live together in Baltimore, Maryland with two little monsters, a three-legged princess, a four-legged goofball, and a cutie with giant ears (aka their two kids, their two cats, and their dog). She hopes to rescue another cat soon, and if her hubby wouldn’t kill her, she’d get more than one… and maybe a few more dogs as well.
She loves creating worlds filled with lots of love, chosen family, and of course, magic, but she also likes making the characters fight for that happy ending. She hopes to one day write all the stories in her head—even if there are too many to count!

- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2021This is a sci-fi, fantasy, suspense novel which contains a m/m relationship but it’s not about that. Just when I think This author has already written their best, they wrote a whole other world, intricately built with words and emotions! This book is epic, slightly gruesome and yet it roots deep inside me as this small group of people are trying to survive. This is the first book and I am entranced; who needs to sleep or eat anyways?
- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2023The aliens weren’t toooo alien (which is good because I have a hard time believing humans could fall in love with, like, Aliens aliens) and the world-building is kinda familiar (we come in peace, until we don’t) but the characters were interesting and their journey to safety was good reading.
And there were kind of a lot of those situations where the mc basically has superpowers but doesn’t use them when it would obviously benefit him. But all in all, this was an entertaining series where you’re rooting for the good guys, hating the bad guys, and just hoping it all works out in the end.
The worst thing about this series is, it seems the-heavily alluded to-spinoff series never came to be. I was really looking forward to Wes’s story:(
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2019I didn't know what to expect from this book but I'm really happy that I picked it up.
It's like a mix of The walking dead and Independence day from the view of 4 boys in high school.
Childhood friends Jeremy, Nolan, Cal and Cals older brother Colt has to fight for their lives when the alien race the Taoree infects the humans. While trying to get home to their families they have to fight, flee and kill to survive, but even in the darkest times love can grow and Jeremy and Colt find that on their journey. But Jeremy also has dreams of one of the aliens and with this stange connection Jeremy knows that he wants to help.
This is not a sweet romance between two boys, it's a journey full of horror, gore and heart breaking moments. But there's also love and hope and the will to survive anything.
Can't wait to read the next book and see what comes next.
Read the warnings and be prepared to cry.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2022This was enthralling. I could so see this as a TV series! Heed the warnings: this has graphic and tragic violence and loss. I was glad I knew it was coming or I don’t think I’d have been able to finish, although that didn’t make it any less sad. There are still so many questions to be answered any the end but I’m jumping into book two.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2018I loved it.... until I hit the end and went... CLIFFHANGER? NOOOOOOOOO!
Now, normally if someone leaves a book on a cliffhanger like this I would give it a lower rating, but I really did like it up till that part. It did drag at some points and I might have had trouble getting through it if I was not listening to it via my kindle as I did a long distance drive. It was great for passing the time and I really did like the characters. Will I get the next book? Probably not ... and here is why: I hate cliffhangers. It's like a sucker punch to the reader. I paid for a book. A WHOLE book. Not half a book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2023I love how the world building is happening… but why 😢😭I don’t normally like alien stories but this is really really good. But then I love Michele’s writing and how she can make you laugh then stab you in your heart with sadness…off to read #2
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2019This book is more of a futuristic action horror than romance. If you like The Walking Dead but wish it was more gay and had aliens in it then this is right up your alley. This is NOT a fluffy romance. There’s so much death that it was quite shocking for me to adjust to, since I read mostly romance. There is as one death in particular (no spoilers!) that had be sobbing. But I’m definitely going to read the continuation of this story. I need to see what happens next!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2022This is a great story so far. I'm really enjoying it. I'm ready to dive right into book 2!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding
Amazing, you become so involved in the world that has been created, you feel like you are a part of it. It made me laugh, tense up, fear for them, and made me ugly cry, be prepared for your an emotional roller coaster. 5+

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it - very strong start to the series!
Wow! I stumbled across this author while reading the Brotherhood of Ormarr series, and I'm so glad I came looking for her other works. This book blew me away! While it wasn't a happy read due to the subject (Earth being taken over by an alien race, with lots of blood and violence), the relationship between these core group of friends and family was inspirational and beautifully written, and consequently there were a fair few happy and hopeful moments spread throughout.
The characters were well developed with a lot of depth, and it was easy to pick out the individual personalities as they were all so unique, yet still close friends. They held true to themselves, even in the face of adversity. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but be warned there are some real tear-jerker moments - have the tissues handy.
I am so glad the trilogy is now finished so I can read all the books in one go - I'm so very keen to see what happens next.
Definitely a book I would recommend - very much worth the read!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a fantastic story!
Overwhelmingly brilliant!
I cannot express how awesome this book is. Don’t know why I waited so long to read it!
It’s got everything. Action, heart, humour, blood and guts and absolute heart break! It takes a lot for a book to make me cry.... I sobbed so much my kids were panicking 🤦🏻♀️😁
Diving head first into book 2. Wish me luck 💋

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow I want this series made into a movie
One of the best LGBTQIA+ SciFi books I've ever read. There were no surprises here, I picked the plot very early on but this book still had me laughing, crying and swearing at my phone all the way through.
Heartwrenchingly sad with just enough hope to make me eager for the next book.
Netflix, if you took this on and did it justice I'd be all over it! 😀
