Tapped By My Roommate (Thrust Into Love Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 847 ratings

Ethan Greene: Shy geek, newly bi-curious, and...propositioning his gay roommate?

I have a passion for a lot of things: wildlife biology, Godzilla, bowties...
But when it comes to people, I'm more timid.
Which is why I'm stuck with a toxic ex-girlfriend who's holding my lizard hostage.

I need to face her--and save my dignity.
But a little backup won't hurt, right?

My roommate is the perfect wingman.
Rhett is assertive and charismatic. The kind of guy people respect.
And when he meets my ex, he's also the kind of guy to get protective.

I take comfort in his strength, even as I envy it.
But when he kisses me, things get awkward.

Frustrated by the tension between us, I turn to a hookup app for answers.
I don't mean to proposition my roommate. Really.
It's just a weird fluke--a mortifying one.

But Rhett has a proposition of his own.
He wants to help me explore my curiosity.
But he's a bartender who practically flirts for a living, and I'm in way over my head.

It could all end in heartbreak.
Unless I find the courage I've been seeking my whole life.
Can I be bold enough to ask Rhett Hayes to be mine?

Tapped By My Roommate is Book 3 of the Thrust into Love series featuring a flirty bartender, a timid but passionate geek, and a mistaken app hookup that encourages these two roommates to explore friendship and love. It can be read as a standalone.

After an online hookup attempt gone wrong that finds bi-curious Ethan in a motel room with his hot gay roommate, Rhett, they make a pact to become roommates-with-benefits. Rhett thinks this will be the safest to way to let Ethan figure his stuff out, and Ethan is on board, making a checklist of all of things he wants to try with Rhett. Being along for the ride as Ethan and Rhett work their way through the checklist was at turns cute, amusing, hot AF, and yes, heartwarming. Ethan’s reptile-loving geekiness and general awkwardness and Rhett’s protective-to-a-fault nature were endearing, sweet and for this reader, comforting. And if I had a moment or two where I blinked away a tear – well, that’s between me and my Kindle. All three books in this series have been outstanding, but this one might just be my favorite so far. Five out of five lizards.

This book was on the lowere end of medium-angst. I do feel that the almost-miscommunication almost lasted too long. Otherwise, I loved Rhett and Ethan and how they supported each other. They both grew—Ethan into someone more assertive and Rhett into someone who could ask for help—and it was great to read.
The side characters were great—Linh and Rhett’s siblings in particular—and Ethan’s love for reptiles was endearing. And that ending warmed my heart. I’m definitely thinking of going back and reading the first two books in this series.

I have really enjoyed the Thrust Into Love series by D.J. Jamison. I have loved each book and all the characters. But, Tapped quickly became my favorite. Rhett and Ethan are roommates. Rhett takes everything on his shoulders, trying to help everyone, and Ethan has a hard time standing up for himself. When Ethan realized he may have feelings for men, he and Rhett set up a list of rules to help Ethan explore his sexuality. Will it turn into something more for both? God, I loved Rhett and Ethan and watching them come together. I related to so many things in Ethan's personality. I loved that the conflict was minimal. Tapped has steam, humor, bow ties, two fantastic lead characters, and lizards.
Another great book by D.J. Jamison!

Haz all the feelz, but too long and the sex could have been hotter, more sensual. But I respect the emphasis on communication. Always good for relationships.

I just adored Rhett and Ethan so much! This was just so sweet and so sexy and so much fun to read! I love a good sexual exploration and discover story, throw in 2 roommates falling in love along the way and it was fantastic! Ethan was the perfect reserved, nerdy guy that started to wonder if he was attracted to Rhett after an accidental kiss one night. Rhett was just a great man with a heart of gold who needed to learn to ask for help sometimes and every once in a while put himself first. What started out with a list of sexual exploration for Ethan, turned into a very sexy, very romantic, and just down right adorable love story. So good!

Ok, I think this one cheated a bit with the very little use of the app, but other than that I loved most of it. Ethan and Rhett were lovely and I hope that the sexy stern daddy advisor shows up in the next story.

But it does have the miscommunication issues that I hate in my romances. When a 10 second sentence can solve something that took a million words to get through, then me no likey.

I desperately needed an HEA and stumbled upon this one. It was real life and caring misunderstandings. The two mains and even some of the side characters felt fully flushed out and I found myself thoroughly engaged.

Tapped by My Roommate by DJ Jamison is the story of two college students who are roommates and they fall in love. Rhett is super busy with his college classes, that he doesn’t really like, and his job at a bar. He needs the money he earns to support himself and help out his younger brother and sister. He also doesn’t believe in long term relationships, mostly because he just doesn’t have time for them. Ethan is somewhat of a geek and is studying wildlife biology with an emphasis on lizards. He recently got out of a toxic relationship with a girl who is just plain mean. He left her house quickly after an argument and left most of his things, including his iguana, Zilla, there. He grew up in a family that was very confrontational so he avoids those kinds of situations as much as possible and tends to let others walk all over him. He becomes roommates with Rhett who he admires for his gumption and his kindness. One night they share a drunken kiss and Ethan realizes he may not be as straight as he thought he was. Eventually Rhett offers to teach Ethan what he has on his list for being bisexual with a man. The story continues as they learn about each other. It has its ups and downs as they break up and then come back together several times over misunderstandings. One of the things I like about this story is that they both have some things to learn. Rhett has to learn to stand back and not be a hero all the time and Ethan has to learn how to stand up for himself, especially when it comes to his things and getting Zilla back. Once they are able to do these they see each other in a different light and are finally able to fall in love. The characters in this book were realistic as were the situations they found themselves in. Both men had problems with their family members that needed to be resolved. I also enjoyed the side characters as they added to the story. There was some angst as they had misunderstandings and there were many hot scenes as Ethan learned about what it was like to be with a man. I enjoyed the book and recommend it to people who like books about college men falling in love with a few bumps along the way.

MM First time Bi experience, Contemporary romance, an easy to read page-turner which reads well as a stand-alone. Great main characters that are extremely likeable and sweet. Thoroughly enjoyed watching them stumble around each other rather than be honest with each other about what they really want. Lots of heat and passion. HEA.
