Tearaways: Reverse Harem Romance (The Challenge Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 142 ratings

Hitting the open road with five hot guys...what's not to love?

Having survived The Challenge, Olivia is now hitting the road with her five sexy men. Seeing them all dressed in tight leathers, with big, growling Harleys between their legs, is enough to have her pulse racing and her mouth watering. So naturally, before long bonds strengthen, love blooms and they’re all enjoying the ride of their lives.

But with little more than bikes and the clothes on their backs, how will they survive a long, arduous journey? Having a billionaire’s heir in their midst is no help when Dante Vidal is insisting on them being cashless and having to work for their supper. Amongst all of that, Olivia finds herself performing a complex juggling act.

Having Alpha males sparring, sparks flying and tempers flaring needs a strong woman to take charge. Is she up for the challenge of keeping her men happy, connected and most of all satisfied? One thing is for sure, it’s a task she’s willing to throw herself into heart, body and soul.

Storyline-wise I didn't technically like this book as much as the first. It was still great and worth 5 stars for sure. There just wasn't the same level of excitement that Castaways had, less danger appeal. Sure, there were one or two tight spots, but it wasn't the same as being stranded on an island. But it was still excellent!

I love the character dynamics. They are so believable. Any relationship can be hard, and Harlem does a great job depicting how difficult juggling multiple relationships are. Those difficulties are compounded when you include multiple romantic relationships. The relationships in the Challenge series are realistic, they aren't perfect, they have difficulties and sometimes someone ends up hurt. That's true to life and makes the story that much more relatable.

I absolutely have enjoyed reading this book, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

Love these characters! Fun story line and great pacing to keep the reader interested in the adventure. All is not well in harem-land, and it will be interesting to see where the next story takes the team. Not as much fun and base story as book one, but entertaining.

Hmmm...what can I say about Tearaways?
It's quite obvious Ms Harlem is an erotica writer, because that's where she shines. The plots and character building need some work.
So, we have Olivia and the guys, fresh from their failed boat "challenge." Was a little unclear as to the timing--they didn't go home or anything after being "deserted" (but not really) on an island? I guess not, and that felt a little strange. But I'm not a rich dude with tons of money to burn.

I was unsure why the roadtrip--on Harleys. What was the point of that? Also, is it really roughing it when you can go to Las Vegas and spend the night for free in the Luxor?

One thing I liked, was this time, we see that being with five guys isn't so fun, and perfect. There's a little resentment, a little jealousy, and one guy kinda gets the shaft accidentally. THIS would be a realistic thing, I would think, trying to spread oneself between a bunch of guys. But again, any conflicts work themselves out too perfectly. Across America in what--5 days? You would encounter some weather, some traffic, and construction problems. It goes QUICK; too quick. Not realistic. It takes 12 hours just to drive from north to south--bare minimum! Not sure Harlem REALLY is getting how huge this country is. It takes like a day and a half just to drive across Texas!!!! No mention of the struggle going up and down mountains in Colorado (which adds its own challenges!!!), and the wear and tear on the bikes. We'd have possible breakdowns, and I'm not really clear what time of year it is...even in the early summer, there could easily be snow in the mountains. Some of the dialogue felt contrived, and forced. And it really doesn't seem like the author has a high opinion of Americans (just little side comments about our food, things like that...rubbed me the wrong way).

The sex though is steamy, a little ridiculous for me--but this seems to be Harlem's forte (and--not a bad thing at all! Some authors cannot write sex!). One scene didn't feel 100% consensual...that bothered me a bit. I think if you like pushy alpha types, you'll probably enjoy it. Of the guys I prefer the more sensitive, brooding Lucas personally (I hate the alpha trope--just hate it). I DID enjoy her time with him.

Here's the thing; if you just read it as a guilty pleasure, like the last--you'll probably enjoy it. Very little editing or grammatical issues (yes, there are a couple, but they ALWAYS happen in all books and if you don't like it--read traditionally published books!) Obviously, this is not a realistic situation. It's just supposed to be for fun...and if you don't let these other points bother you--which I did because sometimes I get too uptight, I admit--it is a fast paced, enjoyable book.

Book three has me skeptically hopeful and skeptically...well, skeptic. Seems we have a new guy to add to the midst, and the idea of going to Africa to build a hospital is intriguing. I like the realistic harem dynamic, even if the reason for BEING in the harem isn't all that so. I appreciate Harlem's willingness to do something a bit different. The conflicts were more drama than ACTUAL conflicts--and that's okay. I definitely felt like Tearaways was better than Castaways, and that doesn't often happen with second books.

If you're looking for a literary masterpiece? This is NOT it. But if you're looking for a fun way to pass an hour, if you cast away (pun NOT intended...) inhibitions, I think you can enjoy it. I do think this author needs to work on better plot building and a better flow to the story, and making things more realistic. If she's used to writing erotica, that makes sense. Everything worked out TOO perfectly. I bounced around giving it 3 or 4 stars, because, the Challenge aside, the quick pace of events just wasn't realistic. Basically, to get across the country they did two full days of work, and the rest got lucky. If it were THAT easy, we'd all do it.
That said, it was an enjoyable read, but I still feel the author needs some work in plot development. But it's steamy and fast paced so if that's what you're looking for--this is it!

Tearaway's is part 2 of The Challenge. After losing their ship at sea and not completing the cross-Pacific challenge of part 1, Dante Vidal has issued a second challenge. If the team can bike from New York to LA they will receive the second portion of the money for cancer research. They will have no money, must work to pay their way across America, roughing it along the way. Time spent with her 5 lovers all dressed in riding leathers on the back of a Harley. Open road leading to a donation for a worthy cause. Win-win as far as Olivia is concerned! The roadtrip isn't the biggest challenge Olivia will face, however. Her biggest challenge is learning how to be in a relationship with 5 guys.

This book shows a new side to the team. They still work wonderfully together at tasks, but it's more complicated when it becomes personal. Plus, they are no longer secluded. Everyday life, civilization now plays a part in their relationship dynamics. Jealousies and insecurities arise. New sides of personalities are revealed. Feelings are hurt. This book doesn't have the physical danger of book 1, although there is a bit; however, there is much more emotional angst.

Harry and Evan continue to play the Alpha's. Their growing friendship is interesting. They work well together considering their dominant ways and need to rile one another up. Could lead to a new aspect of closeness. Raul continues to be crafty. His ingenuity impresses me even if his dramatic flair and obsession with rum do not. The Scottish twins play a more separate role this time. Wonderful Lucas remains the most romantic, beautiful man and finally gets his time, but Mason doesn't. He gets cheated for time this go-around. The introduction of Paul is a twist I didn't see coming. I can't wait to see how he either fits in or disrupts the team.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as book 1. I went in expecting the same level of fun as the first Challenge. This one is equally good, it's just not as light-hearted. Olivia fails as a girlfriend and the results damage the team on an individual and group level. I ended the book upset with her. I don't ever remember being upset with the lead female in an RH like this before. I feel that she was careless, selfish, and thoughtless with her role. I need book 3 to see how she plans to fix everything. I love the team plans for the next book; hopefully this next goal brings them back together and happy once more.

This was so good, i really get the adult feeling from this one. And i like the fact that she is not the typical girl that likes clothes , make up and so on. Instead she like cars and she is very handy and can fix things(machines)

Continuing their challenge Olivia, Harry, Evan, Lucas, Mason and Raul have to motorcycle from New York to LA. With only the money they have on them, which isn't a lot, will these guys make it to LA to claim the prize for their charity? Can Olivia keep her five boyfriends happy or will jealousy come between them?
Tearaways by Lily Harlem is book two in The Challenge series. It's an exciting and sexy road trip across America, with five hot guys and one sexy lady. You won't want to miss it!

Olivia and the guys face off a new challenge in this book. We see more character developmemt as they go through different experiences, and it appears the honeymoon period is over. Liv now faces troubles with Raul and Mason, and to a lesser extent Harry and Evan. Seems only Lucas is not giving her grief. I felt this book wrapped up better than the first - it wasn't as rushed. I love that the next challenge has been set with a great cause to benefit. The introduction of Paul, Mason and Lucas' brother is going to add tension as well - can't wait for the next book to see if Olivia copes!
