Tell Them Lies (Three Little Words Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 793 ratings

Liz Peters hasn’t exactly gotten the happily-ever-after she’s read about in her Jane Austen books. ‘Always a bridesmaid’ is more fitting to the way life has been passing this good girl by. About to go postal from loneliness, she meets a man who doesn’t seem to fit any of her requirements for a book-worthy hero.

Kieran Carter would do just about anything to put a smile on his terminally ill mother’s face. When he meets a woman in the ice cream aisle at the grocery store, Kieran finally has opportunity to do just that. If he needs to lie in order to give his mom a little hope? Not a freakin problem.

It all seems so neat and tidy. An arrangement is struck that benefits them both, but when lines get blurry and the guilt of lying to everyone they love becomes too much, neither Liz or Kieran can tell what’s real and what’s for show. And somewhere in the middle is the last person they ever expected to fall in love with.

*Tell Them Lies is the third in a series of standalone titles. It's certainly not necessary to read the first two, but there are recurring characters in all of the stories.*

I wouldn't mind "faking it" a bit with Kieran too :P

I wouldn't mind "faking it" a bit with Kieran too :P
*5 stars* There are books that you know you just can't do justice with a review, and Tell Them Lies is one of them. I can't say a signle bad word about it, the story was just perfect in my opinion. Liz and Kieran are my favorite Sorensen couple (even despite my deep love for Jake *gasps*). I can't find words to say how much I loved it. LOVED IT. A very original plot, a bit of a hate-to-love story mixed with a fake-relationship (which turns out to be not so fake at all ;) ) - you've never read anything funny, romantic and heartwarming like this before. Liz. A fellow bookworm and good girl. My spirit animal and bookish version of me in many parts (okay, I only wish I was a gorgeous blue-eyed blonde, although I know a person who fits the look perfectly, hi Goddess ;)) It's kind of creepy that I could relate to a fictional character that much. I understand Liz's struggles, being unsure about her career, dreams, plus the feeling of being left out a bit, like everyone moves forward and you're the only one that seems to stand in the same place, stuck at some point in your life, not knowing what to do next. It takes courage to break through, sometimes you just need the right person by your side, someone to light you up (see what I did there? LOL) and believe in you when you didn't yourself. Kieran, a perfect gentleman hidden under that whole tattoed bad boy appearance. He was utterly *le sigh* and removing his layers (preferably along with his clothes... lol ;)) enabled getting to know him, his past, and discover there was much more about him than meets the eye at first look. I'm adding that gem to my spacious book boyfriend collection ;) <3 I loved how Kieran tore through Liz's defenses, made them get closer to each other, then at last stop pretending and denying their obvious chemistry. I liked how they didn't make up immediately later in the book after a serious fight. It felt reasonable and right. Their relationship had the chance to grow stronger at a normal and steady pace, something that was missing at first. With this book comes an important message that you shouldn't let your past deprive you of your dreams and future. I only wish it was that easy in real life: not to look back and to find the courage to be who you want to be. Non sum qualis eram. Tell Then Lies is my favorite Sorensen book to date. I can't praise and recommend it hard enough. It's sad to see the series come to an end, but knowing that Casey, Rachel and Liz got their own HEAs is a sweet consolation prize that I fully embrace. After all, whenever I miss them, I can grab the books and read them again. And again. I know I will. Many times. <3

This is for the hopeless romantics. For the ones that want more from their life and the happily ever after to go with it. Liz is so relatable and Kieran is the exact counterpart that Liz needs. This story had depth and had me squealing one moment, crying the next, and fanning myself after that. Definitely recommend.

Dual POV. Beautiful, tall, blonde almost 30 year old librarian. Handsome, tall, tattooed gym owner with a mother dying of cancer. Sweet story, good primary characters, and wonderful friends and family. No real details to in the couple sex scenes, very clean. I definitely prefer KS's "Effect" series (especially The Bombshell Effect, which is one of my all time favorite romances), but this was an enjoyable story too, with some tears.

Very seldom does a book make me sob--this one did. So many things hit me close to my heart. The characterisations, the progression of the mother's illness, the development of the relationships it just grabbed me by the heartstrings and tugged. I give this book five stars. Something that I seldom do.

This book had me laughing through my tears, and I love that. Sorensen takes us inside a difficult time in Kieran's life as he deals with his mother's illness while at the same time finally finding someone he can lean on. Kieran and Liz were such well-drawn characters, a perfect example of opposites attract, and I loved watching them slowly begin to realize how well they're contrasting personalities actually fit. If you're looking for a romance with humor and heart, I highly recommend this one!

But seriously, if you only read one in this entire series, it’s this one. And I loved them all. Just truly, you will love this. Every book I read from Karla, I love. Such a great author.

Another great book with twists and turns from the little librarian! Loved all the characters in Karla’s “Three Little Words” series but Liz had more unexpected moments and Karla really showed how you can grow and adjust and be completely “free” when you accept yourself as you are and when you go for what you want!

Tell them lies was very enjoyable... I did feel that the main character perhaps over reacted over something that with a little communication could have been resolved. That generally frustrates me a little. But loved the humour, the sweet relationship and the intelligence behind the characters

Liz meets Kieran in the grocery store when she has lost the will to live and she is staring at the ice cream. He comes up behind her and tells her to move. There is a moment there and she moves off. Kieran's mum is ill and the one thing she wants is to leave knowing her son is settled and so he sets up a scheme to put her mind at rest using Liz. Things dont always go to plan though and Liz starts to feel guilty and tells all to his mum.
