    Scenes throughout Hope Ford’s contribution to the Men of Ruthless Corp. series are continuously depicted with a suspenseful intensity that kept me enthralled during every riveting moment. Mysteries abound and had me trying to guess what was actually going on, while the interaction between the main characters is filled with one emotional dilemma after another. TEMPTING THE HITMAN definitely captured my full attention the whole time I was reading this engaging story.

    Several years ago when Colt Stone was in the military, he saved a man’s life, and this person now obtains contracts and has his hitmen complete the assignments. Getting a call from this individual is certainly surprising, but what he says is even more shocking. A woman from Colt’s past is in imminent danger, and she will soon be dead if he does not make the right decision. He knows Kinsley Adams because she is his sister’s friend, and although there was once an intimate connection between them, he did not let a relationship develop for her own good. But with Kinsley currently threatened, Colt will do whatever it takes to make sure she is never harmed.

    When a story draws me in from the start and then keeps me engrossed until the last word is read, I know the author has created a highly entertaining book, and this novel by Hope Ford is a great example. Colt previously did what he thought was best for Kinsley, yet neither have ever forgotten how the other made them feel. Although it has been three years since they were in contact, all it takes is knowing her life is in peril for him to spring into action. As former military, Colt knows how to respond to physical risks, but keeping his heart out of the equation is much more difficult. Kinsley does not want to let her emotions become involved once again either, and this conflict leads to lots of affecting situations. The aspects dealing with jeopardy are repeatedly thrilling, and some twists arise that are most unforeseen.

He handles contracts and what he tells him sends him flying to L.A.

    She is a professor that teaches photography, so she thinks it is a robbery when a guy pulls a gun on her after her class ends. Then he arrives and saves her … why is he here? Why did the guy try to kill her? How can she survive being around him again?

    Tempting the Hitman is another book in the Men in Ruthless Corporations series penned by several authors. Hope Ford penned this character-driven romantic novella focusing on two romantic themes—forbidden love (sister’s best friend) and second chance. Ms. Ford introduces Kinsley Adams and Colt Stone to her readers. I appreciated how Ms. Ford takes her readers back to understand the relationship dynamics of these two lead characters. She introduces suspense by throwing these two together into survival mode as Colt assumes a role of Kinsley’s bodyguard.

    This book was a quick and enjoyable read. I liked Ms. Ford’s character-driven romantic plot. She surprised me in the way she caricatures Rogue, the CEO of Ruthless Corporation, compared to how other authors in this series did. Ms. Ford’s use of dialog was well done. The dialog between Kinsley and Colt, at times, made me smile. Her descriptive scenes pulled me into them and helped her plot flow.
