Terra Prime (The Terran Legacy Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 4 ratings

Captain Dannage is losing his mind. Or more accurately it’s being stolen.
It started as dreams, whispers in the dark.
It’s been a year since the sentient, Terran ships ripped through colonised space and humanity is rebuilding. But Dannage is suffering the after effects of his linking with the Terran ships, and now, their voices are intruding into his waking thoughts.
With the Terran ships clawing at his sanity, Dannage is desperate for a cure.
This search for a cure throws Dannage, Arland and the crew of the Hope’s Folly into the middle the political machinations of a secessionist government, the clutches of black market scientists, and finally, onto a perilous mission to the heart of the ancient Terran Imperium, to Terra Prime.
But Terra Prime holds secrets much older and darker than any of them could imagine. Some things were never meant to exist in our reality.

I always liked making up stories. Now, I guess I'm doing it on a larger scale.

When I was a child, bedtime stories were down to my dad. In an effort keep himself sane, we quickly progressed from Puddle Lane and Thomas the Tank Engine to Terry Brooks and JRR Tolkien.

That, combined with a perpetual love of Star Trek (thanks again dad), has led to my joint loves of SciFi and Fantasy.

I only started writing in earnest while I was at university (studying Archaeology), where I wrote a bunch of Star Trek stories (that will never see the light of day).

After realising that a career in archaeology would mean having to go outside, I retrained in IT Support, and moved into writing original fiction.

This book was very motivating to read! The series is so good, I could not put it down. I was able to turn page after page after page. The author, who took their time when writing this story, gives you a sense of adventure.  You won't feel disappointed at all with the story. It does immerse you, but it's good to know the first book. I read a little bit from a friend before, so I thought that it'll be good to go ahead and go to the next book since they told me all about it. Actually, that turned out to be good, but I do wish I would had read more of the first book to give it more background on the characters.

However, this story was written very well and it was a lot of fun. I don't want to go into spoilers, but I do like the characters personalities. They have very distinctive sounds that you could hear them saying and talking about. They are funny, and knowledgeable of things that make  it seem relatable. I also like the writer's ability to stay in the story and not to be all over the place. Nothing made it feel like it was a "repeated read." Instead, it was something that you kind of just wanted to keep on reading. This story really does have a really good build-up though. There are a lot of exciting and suspenseful notes. It wasn't bad at all a little lengthy to get the point across, but it's really good and I suggest that you pick it up and read it.
