I was not a dark romance girlie. I was a fluffy bunny who enjoyed cowboy romances and happily ever after. And then I saw a TikTok for the Ritual and my book journey was changed. The L.O.R.D.S. begins as a college aged romance. In order to be a LORD, the BOYS (important to note) enter into the initiation process and once they complete it, they enter into a secret society full of wealth and power. After they complete the initiation they are given a Chosen (female only), and they serve the male. It’s safe to say the spice in these books begins early! This is also a DARK romance series so please check your trigger warnings. This book is the first in the series but the world itself is not new to us. We saw hints in her previous series, like the Kingdom series. In this book we meet Blakely and Ryat and I was instantly drawn into their journey. Shantel Tessier does an amazing job of getting you to feel things towards her characters; whether or not those feelings are good or not, and you are drawn into wanting to see more. I do not want to give everything away so please know that I highly recommend this book to those who love a dark romance. Please please please check your trigger warnings. I vow. You vow. We vow.     This book ended up surprising me! Even though it has tons of sex, it has more of a plot than I expected! And more complex than I could've expected, too! 

    Also, even though there is drama, it's not the kind that made my heart feel heavy. So I recommend it! It's fun, intriguing, thrilling and sexy! 

    Loved the tension and heat between Ryat and Blake! Loved this masculine and dominant man, and a girl who just looooves being taken by him!
