THE BLOGGER a crime thriller you won’t want to put down (Detective Jeff Temple Series Book 5) Kindle Edition
Beth Fletcher comes home to find the police outside her block. A body lies broken on the paving stones.
It’s her fiancé Daniel Prince. He was an online activist with a huge international following. Through his blog he targeted corrupt governments and global corporations.
Naturally, he’d made a lot of enemies. So it seems unlikely that this is a case of suicide.
THEY KILLED HER MAN. WILL THEY COME FOR HER NEXT?
DCI Jeff Temple and his Major Investigation Team investigate the high-profile death.
Beth takes over her partner’s blog to keep his legacy alive. The move makes her one of the world’s most powerful activists — but not for long, if she also becomes a victim.
DCI Temple and his team must solve the crime before anyone else plays the ultimate price.
This is the fifth book by James Raven in the hugely successful DCI Jeff Temple series.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2020I really enjoyed reading this book. Could not put it down. Would recommend it to all those who love a good mystery.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2016James Raven’s stalwart and astute detective Jeff Temple is back for the fifth time around in The Blogger. A fast-paced and plot-twisting read, Raven’s newest work is a well-written and timely thriller perfect for our modern age.
Internationally known and undoubtedly controversial Internet sensation Daniel Prince is no stranger to controversy. On his blog, People-Power, Prince is famous for breaking hard-hitting, and often politically devastating, stories that expose scandals, corruption, and other unpleasantries that are rampant within national governments. Most recently, a post on his blog caused several high-ranking British ministers to resign. Needless to say, Prince has made a lot of enemies. But when he is found dead outside his apartment building one night, all signs point to suicide.
Jeff Temple and his team are called in to investigate what looks like a textbook suicide case. But one interview with Prince’s fiancé, Beth Fletcher, however, raises Temple’s suspicions. Beth is adamant that Prince wasn’t suicidal, that he had never even shown any signs of depression. She’s convinced that one of the countless enemies that he had made through his blogging is guilty of foul play. And despite all other evidence, Temple is inclined to believe Beth. Further evidence in Prince’s apartment points towards murder, as well.
But unfortunately, there is no lack of suspects in this case. Aside from the countless enemies that Prince had made abroad, there are plenty of suspects at home as well. In his apartment alone there are several unsavory characters. There’s the sneaky apartment building concierge George Reese, whose wallow-demeanor and complete access to the entire building makes him more than capable of carrying out the deed; there’s resident Hari Basu, known for his temper and short-fuse, who had already quarreled with Prince several times; the seemingly mild-mannered Mr. and Mrs. Connor, who are mysteriously collecting a scrapbook of newspaper articles that mentioned Prince; and finally the mysterious married woman with whom Prince was supposedly having an affair—at least, that is, according to his friend and confidante Joseph Kessel.
It’s up to Temple and his crack-team, which includes his life-partner Angel, to delve through the many suspects in the hopes of ultimately catching a killer. But when Beth goes missing after vowing to take over the reins at Prince’s blog, the stakes become even higher, and Temple must race against the clock to stop a ruthless killer from striking a second time.
While occasionally containing stilted conversation and clichéd thriller tropes, Raven’s The Blogger is ultimately an enjoyable and fast-paced read for any lover of thrillers, mysteries, and plot-twists.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2020Did he jump or was he pushed? That is the question. “Bloggers like Prince are becoming increasingly influential.” But who are their friends? I enjoyed the story and recommend the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars DCI Jeff Temple
I've just finished reading the 5th book (one after the other) in the series of DCI Jeff Temple. Great story lines, and very hard to put down, but you have to start with book one.
So if you like a good detective story, full of intrigue and mystery, I highly recommend this series, as well as the stand alone box set of 3.
Great work James Raven, will look forward very much to # 6. Chris from Sydney Australia

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great story
Another great story featuring Inspector Temple and his team. Full of action and intrigue the story moves along at a fast pace. As with his previous books this was a unique story which made it all the more enjoyable. I note that it was the fifth of five in the series. I can only hope that there are more to come.

4.0 out of 5 stars A new author
Didn't know quite what to expect as this is my first attempt at James Raven's work. Apart from too much time being spent on the virtues of the victim, I found the story and writer's style to be easy reading. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating and thrilling
Like the others in the series, this one further explores the characters and the plot is plausible and keeps you interested in the next turn.
