While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys traveling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.

Melanie loves stories, especially paired with a good wine, and enjoys skydiving (free falling over a fleck of dust) extreme snowboarding (falling downstairs), and piloting her own helicopter (tripping over her own feet.) ☆☆☆So much love for Matteo & Evie!!☆☆☆ Y'all, this book is SOOOO GOOD!! Melanie Moreland is my second new to me Author this week, and I swear I've hit the jackpot!! All the romantic suspense I love, some super HOT SEXY scenes, and a relationship so strong between Matteo and Evie that it brought me to tears! Matteo is The Boss of his outfit, and even though his character is dark, he's doing it for all the right reasons. I loved his gruffness with his men, his vulnerability with Evie, and his family, and his Alpha tendencies. Just the BEST kind of man! Evie, well, I honestly thought I wasn't going to like her, but she is almost perfection! So strong in setting her boundaries, and asking for what she needs even at the very beginning, and by the end I was completely enthralled! I loved her strength in all of it, especially in teaching Matteo what real love needs to look like. The suspense is on fire throughout this book, how much what Matteo has to see in his every day life is affecting him, and the spicy scenes, hot damn!! Melanie Moreland made me a fan with The Boss, and I'll be working my way through her back catalogue shortly! I can't WAIT to see what she has planned in Second-In-Command!! 5/5 ⭐'s 7/5 🌶's

    I swear, this talented wordsmith is a wizard. Either that, or she has some magic writer's dust she sprinkles over her manuscript, turning boring, ordinary words into romance gold. She then infuses it with so much emotion I fear my heart won’t be able to take ıt, all the while having the reassuring confidence that the same heart is in capable, compassionate hands.

    From the very first page this story lątched on to my throąt, and then my heart, and didn’t let go. Vigılante justice shouldn’t be appealing, and I certainly shouldn’t surrender my heart to a callous man who metes out that justice, but I couldn’t help but fall for Matteo. Oh, he may clean up the streets of scųmbag predators without seemingly blinking an eye, but there's far, far more to this man than is evident at first glance.

    Evelyn (Evie) is on the run from an abusıve life in ruıns, but on the streets of the big city at night, she's nothing more than prey. Desperate to find a hiding place, she stumbles into an abandon warehouse. But while trying to calm her breathing and settle her heart, she realizes she's not alone.

    Now that the fragile wisp of a woman has witnessed Matteo Campari acting as judge, jury, and executıoner, Matteo has a choice to make. He may be ruthless in exacting justice, but Matteo has never once taken an innocent life.

    This story! It's convolute and complicated, and so multilayered I had no idea what to expect as I devoured it quickly. Not only a compelling element of drama and suspense, but the blooming relationship between Matteo and Evie was a thing to behold! So full of rich, rıpe emotion, I was spellbound by every word. I couldn’t wait to find out how things would resolve, yet I never wanted it to end.

    There's enough wrong about this one that you might feel guılty for feeling that it's perfectly right, which only serves to heighten the emotional impact. Shocķing and grıtty but tender and beautiful, this epic love story is the kind we all dream of, and it will be one of your very best reads this year!

Her first impression of him..." his face dark, evil, and twisted. He was like an avenging angel--straight from hell". Matteo is so much more than meets the eye. In fact Matteo will soon become an avenging angel that saves her life.

    Melanie More t has long been my favorite author and I have read every book she has published. The Boss is a different trope from what I was used to. Evie is forced to marry Matteo, but this marriage will not be loveless. As Evie learns more about her new husband's life and life's work, she realizes his type of justice just may be what the word needs.

    There is mentions of abuse, and sex crimes against women and children, but not by the Men of Hidden Justice. The Boss and his men will end this sort of crime one by one.

    I loved this story and all the characters. Matteo is strong, a natural leader, and fierce protector. Just what Evie needs. Something else we learn is that, when he loves, he love with his whole heart! If ever I to find myself in a bad situation, I could use someone like Matteo to save me!

    This was my first Melanie Moreland book. I'm finding it hard to write about it, because it really was everything I expected it to be, and then some. The Boss ticked every box for me.

    Matteo is two sides of the same coin, one dark – the boss, the fierce, hardened, menacing man he needs to be –, and the other lighter – the protective man who does everything for those he loves. He tries to keep them separate. In fact, he always has.
    Evie escaped her boyfriend. When she could, she just ran. She has no money, no one to turn to, no friends, no family. She’s completely lost, afraid, and alone. My heart broke for her.

    Evie jumps out of the frying pan and into the fire. Having witnessed a crime, she's given a choice. She can marry the criminal, a man she knows nothing about, except that he seems to be the lesser of two evils. As it turns out, he's a lot more than that.
    For him, it's supposed to be about marrying her to ensure she never tells anyone what she's seen. For her, it's about being safe. And then both of them catch feelings for each other.

    There's a lot of chemistry between them from the start, and then it grows and evolves. Bringing her into his world is hard, but she's strong, she's tough, and she's there for whatever he needs. And he's never far from her.
    The suspense element is riveting, the tension is palpable, and makes this book a real page-turner.

    In the end, you realize Matteo and Evie came into each other's lives because there was a purpose to it. They were meant to save each other in every way that matters.

    The Boss was absolutely perfect for me. It had just the right amount of suspense with all the feel good InstaLust/InstaLove goodness you expect from a Melanie Moreland romance.

    Matteo is a possessive alpha hero and Evie a strong heroine. Together they are mesmerizing. I fell hard for Matteo and everything he stood for and Evie proved to be exactly what was needed to complete this incredible man.
