I actually really enjoyed this book. Normally short stories always leave me wanting more or there's not enough to hook me but that wasn't the case with this one.

I will say that I thought Lisa's plan was an unconventional and a little crazy but it made for a funny read.

As is the case for most short stories with me I didn't connect with any of the characters. If you are in the mood for a short fast paced funny story this might be one for you

Bridezilla in overdrive :) Lisa takes matters into her own hands and decides to plan the perfect wedding ... and the groom - who doesn't know he is a groom - will love it. Right? Right?!?!?! This novelette kept me on the edge of my seat - I HAD to read it in one sitting. Drama, comedy, suspense, all in one wacky wild ride!

The Bulletproof Proposal by Rebekah Louise is a short and sweet romantic novella. At just thirty-nine pages I wondered if I would be able to connect with the story, as sometimes I can struggle to get invested into novellas because they seem to be over with before they really begin. I’m happy to say I did not have that issue with this one, and I happily read all the way through, cheering Lisa on with her wedding planning. At first I worried that her idea of proposing to her boyfriend of five years might backfire, and then I really started to worry when not only was she going to propose but also plan the wedding all without him knowing– sure, I was worried for her. Her idea to have the wedding fully ready, all the guests invited, the cake done, and more – all without knowing if Matt would say yes – sure, I was sweating a bit for her. It was fairly comical at points watching her try to get a wedding planned in just weeks, and fun seeing her friends and family step up and try to help her. I of course won’t spoil the ending, as I couldn’t even guess how that might come together, but I hope you’ll read for yourself! Like mentioned prior, this is a novella but nothing appeared too rushed for me. It was the perfect romantic/chick lit storyline for a novella, and I highly enjoyed from beginning to end. If you are looking for a short and sweet read, I would recommend The Bulletproof Proposal by Rebekah Louise.

I will give this book 5 out of 5 stars for this cute, hilarious and sweet novelette.

I started this book without any expectation, I literally went into this book knowing almost nothing, I didn't even read the synopsis - well, not closely enough.
Well, the author, Rebekah Louise blew my mind - I never imagined she could pull off building up such a solid, strong story in such a small page count like 39 pages!! She totally toppled and shattered my preconceived idea that a solid story needs a lot of pages to build on. With regard to this, I'll tip my hat to Rebekah Louise. I thoroughly enjoyed this short story!

The writing is surprisingly strong and the pacing is just right. Although, once again, this book has got only 39 pages, it didn't feel like so short. It is indeed fast-paced and the proposal/wedding plan that Lisa, the protagonist, concocted is absolutely harebrained and unconventional. But the author's wicked sense of humor peppering the entire story and the hilarious banter between the supporting characters - Maddy, Lisa's best friend and Lisa's mum and the future mother-in-law, Trudy cancelled off the craziness of Lisa's plan, balanced everything out perfectly.
I especially liked how vivid and vibrant her writing is. Oh, her wicked sense of humor - it was EVIDENT from the dialogues between the characters! I giggled so many times, I had so much fun reading this! This book pulled me in so quickly and never let me go till the end.

Story wise, this book has got all the elements that I look for in a book. They are compressed down to such a short amount of pages surprisingly well and it's totally satisfying. It's got humor, wonderful characters, friendship, the excitement of planning a wedding, and last but definitely not least, the tension leading up to the day of reckoning - the wedding and sweet tears. I swear my heart was pounding so hard while I was reading the last several pages. The tension was definitely there and I felt like I were Lisa, holding my breath and waiting for the verdict.

The only issue that I had with this book was the ending. It felt a bit rushed and I would have liked it to be developed a bit more. But other than that, I have no complaint with this.

If you are in the mood for a fun, hilarious and a sweet read, I will recommend picking this up.
This book took me by surprise in so many ways and I am now curious to read her other book!

What a fun and easy to read story. This was perfect for reading after a hard day at work. It is short enough to read in one sitting or like me, you could break it into two.

Lisa takes a gamble on her relationship. Being the impatient modern woman that she is, she doesn't want to wait to be asked that all important question. She wants to know they will be together forever now. So Lisa prepares to most extraordinary proposal that you can imagine.
Between Lisa, her best friend and her Mum, they make and prepare a plan that sounds crazy at first ( and for quite a large part of the planning of it). But this is the fictional world that Rebekah Louise has created for our entertainment and she does it so well.

I had no idea if this spectacular plan was going to work for Lisa? But it was enjoyable to watch it play out and see where it would end.
Will Lisa become a happily married? Or will her plan bring egg on her face? Read The Bulletproof Proposal to find out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short, funny but a great quick read

I have to admit that I am not usually a fan of short stories as I find they often lack sufficient detail that a longer novel contains. This however has blown my theory clean out of the water. For the idea of the book it perfectly suited the shorter format.
Lisa is expecting, after 5 year long relationship with boyfriend Matt, that when he announces he is taking her out for a slap up meal at a posh venue he will obviously be planning to propose. She shares her expectations with her work colleagues and on returning to work the following day Lisa has to admit to best friend Mandy that she got it all wrong and she is still waiting for the magical moment to happen. Until Mandy unwittingly plants the seed of an idea in Lisa's head...
The humour is well written into Lisa's ensuing plan to become Matt's forever Mrs Right. I didn't know whether to get on board with her plan or cringe with embarrassment on her behalf should Matt decide not to be part of her plans.
No spoilers here, but I strongly recommend this book if you want a quick, funny read. As I say, not my usual format but a huge hit with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully crazy

A wonderfully, crazy, insane idea, but you really do get swept along with the enthusiasm that the writer so vividly paints for us. The story is just the right length, long enough to keep you guessing, will he or won’t he, but not too long to drag it out. A lovely little read.
