    Erin Stein had been the prison monitor that had been holding convicted criminal Xyker Romone a Ymirian who had managed to abscond with a spaceship and crew. Erin had ignored her superiors’ commands and taken a small crew along with her precious ship the Skyhawk in a failed attempt to recapture him.
    Unfortunately the injuries she had sustained during the prison riot he had escaped during had still left her with a serious head injury and this had enabled them to capture both her and her ship and then close to collapse she has been put into stasis for nine weeks to allow her brain and head injury sufficient time to heal.
    Xyker had released the rest of the crew but had take Erin back to his home planet where she would be punished for the unfair incarceration he had suffered and then would also serve several months of servitude; she would then be released.
    Unfortunately what neither Erin or Xyker had been able to anticipate was their attraction and subsequent mutual respect, also Erin had started to realise how empty he life had become she enjoyed being in a home, having a relationship with a man and also she had started to paint and read now that she had some free time.
    Then there had been an emergency when an Ymirian ship had become trapped on a planet over six days away, one of the crew she had become familiar with and knew that she could reach them and save them all by flying the Skyhawk utilising the symbiotic link only she had.
    Rescueing the crew had been a miracle and almost cost her life, Xyker realised at that moment that without her in his life he had no reason to go on. He loved Her!!!!
    Could she possibly have even the remotest feelings of affection for him, read this extremely entertaining book by Ashe Bakker. Both the plot and the characters were splendid and once you begin reading you will not be able to put the book down until you reach the finale…

    I failed to realize when I began this book that it was from the Alien Alphas anthology put out by Stormy Night Publications' authors. I had read 10 of the 24 stories, all really good, including this one. This is the review I wrote for this story that I did not post, as I failed to finish the anthology.

    Ashe Barker simply is one of the most erotic BDSM romance writers out there. Even in this short, the bondage and discipline are beautifully choreographed. I enjoyed this brief alien outlaw tale but felt it was almost a teaser. The heroine’s point of view seemed to fluctuate from the start to the heart then settled into a consistent place without adequate detail to support her changing reactions. The ending was also rushed. I really wanted more.

    In this novella version it is much more fleshed out and satisfying.

    Xyker escapes from the prison planet that Erin is in charge of. Erin is determined to recapture him and bring him back for justice. She follows him to his own planet, Ymirian. Problem is that they both had different ideas of Justice. Erin becomes the prisoner of Xyker, the Enforcer. Neither Erin nor Xyker are ready for the attraction they have for each other. This is a very sexy read. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Xyker and Erin are from two very different cultures, with two very different ideas of Justice, which only matters because each views the other as having committed crimes, and need to serve a sentence through which they will learn their lesson... but will the lesson they learn be the one their governments intend? Or something far more personal?

    Erin comes across as young, with a lot to learn, where Xyker is from a longer-lived species, with different perspectives on a lot of things, not the least of which is rushing in to action, and rushing to judgment.

    Of the two main characters, I found myself enjoying Xyker more... I liked his sense of humor, and his approach to a lot of the situations, whereas I kept waiting for Erin to learn a few lessons... yet, by the end of the story I realized that I had underestimated Erin, because there were a lot of things she had understood all along that I had neglected to give her credit for, and should have appreciated more.

    I enjoyed the story of Xyker and Erin; they were worthy opponents, each strong and accomplished in their own worlds. The theme of restitution and the building of trust between the characters drive the plot and kept my interest throughout the story. Xyker was easy to hate until he came face to face with the huge errors in both judgement and the treatment of Erin and began his own journey of restitution. It was at that point that the story became a romance. Out of all the books that I have read by Ms. Barker, this one is my favourite.

    Xyker and Skyhawk was such a great read. This starts of with a bang, you have Xyker imprisoned by the human for breaking there law and Skyhawk is his warden. He escapes but Skyhawk refuses to let this affront go so against the wishes of her superior she follows him and then is captured by him along with her ship. He holds her on his planet where she is a criminal a meets out justice on her delectable body. But will his hard justice turn her from him or will she become enslaved to the enforcer.
