From the Author

I wrote this book having been inspired many years ago by the film Dracula, that Francis Ford Coppola made. That got me into writing vampire fiction! Having said that, I felt there Dracula was both sexy and romantic, yet capable of demonic deeds! What a combo! Right up my alley, to use a cliche. Why not write a book depicting Dracula as he is shown to be in the novel Stoker wrote? Now, he has the ability to look handsome, but he is Dracula as written in my novel.         .I read and then studied the novel. I wrote around the action in the novel, Dracula, that is I elaborated on events, I did not change them! I gave him a love life and had him explain about his living life. There is interest on the part of many readers, I found in Dracula. Many want to know more about him. That is what I sought to do in this novel.I write dark paranormal and Gothic romance as well as dark horror. The Gothic romantic fiction I write is combined with horror. This fiction is replete with tortured vampires, passionate sex and feeding. I believe vampires are wanton, highly sexual creatures and I depict them that way. Having said that, they are capable of deeply felt emotions. They are complex creatures. There are good and bad among them as there are among all beings..With regard to the horror, it tends to be contemporary. I have all sorts of monsters, some human and some human-like. Serial killers, monstrous beings inside, don't necessarily look like what they are. That to me, is most scary..Creativia has just released by latest book, a novel based on the infamous Blood Countess, Erzsebat Bathory who held absolute power in 16th Century Hungary. She was a sexual sadist and predator. That book was a challenge to write, but I love challenges!
Thank you for reading this. I hope you will check out my writing!

Another well-written, exposition style of writing by Carole Gill. Each book in the Blackstone Vampire Series is from a different character’s point of view. Not any easy task as each voice has to be unique for that specific character, but Gill is able to accomplish just that. Dia’s journey to the undead is quite different than what happened to Rose, Eve or Justine. Though Justine, Into the Blood is not a part of the Blackstone Vampire Series, the story goes into more detail about the horrible nature of Ned and Anton and the terrible ordeal Dia suffered at their hands. I do recommend reading that book to help flesh out the last of this series.

As a baby, Dia was cursed by Dracula to become his fourth bride. Rose and Louis Darden tried to protect her from the curse, but once Dia turned of age and set to marry to a mere mortal, Dracula claimed her as his and changed her life forever. After the destruction of Dracula, Dia finds herself betrayed and turned over to the sadistic Ned and his freak sideshow. One element I like about Gill’s stories, they really show the dark nature of the human soul. Society condemns vampires and werewolves as monsters and demons, but that same darkness dwells in the souls of man.

Because of proofreading errors, I have to take away one feather and give a 4 feather recommendation instead. If you love dark, vampire stories, this one is for you

    Attention horror fans!!!!!
Carole Gill has done it again with the fourth book in the Blackstone Vampire series. It grabs your attention from the first page to the last. I couldn't put it down. This series dared me to try to figure out the direction Carole was going. I was surprised and delighted at every twist. This is a total must read.

I ABSOLUTELY loved this book, Dia's story is filled with love and angst. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I felt rushed in parts.
Definitely can't wait for the next book.

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Dia was cursed by Dracula as a baby while her mother was killed. Rose and Louis Darton took Dia in at that time to love and raise her as their own. Rose and Louis had two children of their own Simon and Ada. Rose, Louis, Simon and Ada were all vampires with the exception of Louis being half-vampire/half-demon. As Dia grew into adulthood her brother and sister would never would. They will always remain children as they are vampires while Dia is not.

Dia met and fell in love with a nice young man by the name of Edward. While on their honeymoon poor Edward took sick and died. Dia was all alone until she was kidnapped by Dracula and taken to his castle to become his fourth bride, which she was destined to since she was cursed as a baby. Dracula had three other wives whom lived with him at the castle. They are sisters and were actually real sisters when they were turned. After taking Dia to his castle Dracula turned Dia into a vampire and she became his fourth bride. At first Dia was very upset and scared but eventually she learned not to be afraid of Dracula and she learned to love him in her own way. Dracula loved Dia very much or as much as he ever could with his dark and evil twisted heart.

The sisters were very jealous of Dia and did not like her at all but that was ok because Dia didn't like them either. She was just as jealous of them if not more so. So Dracula decided to take her away so just the two of them could be together so that it would be just the two of them and she wouldn't have to put up with the sisters.

Dia suffers through a lot of heartache and tortious things. She is made do unspeakable things that she would never dream of ever doing. The Fourth Bride is filled with so much evil, mind numbing events that will leave you with your mouth hanging open. If you are easily given to nightmares then I suggest that you read The Fourth Bride with the lights on and under no circumstance read it alone. Well unless you are like me and you love reading scary, gory and bloody books. If I dreamed about The Fourth Bride and I woke up right in the middle of it I would be so upset. I would want to go back to sleep so I could finish my dream. I would probably be laughing when I woke up. Not because I don't have a heart or care about people and things I do very much but hey I love horror. I was born in the horror month and love it.

Have you read The Blackstone Vampires? If you have not then you do not know what you are missing. The Blackstone Vampires is one series you definitely need to check out! It is an amazing series! Carole Gill is an awesome author and knows how to scare the living daylights out of you. And to me that is one fantastic book and author!

When I read Carole Gill's The House on Blackstone Moor I was taken with the fact that she wrote a very gothic prose but merged it with a nastiness to her primary character that was reminiscent of Clive Barker.

This is the fourth book of the series, but whilst it uses the characters of Louis and Rose as a jumping off point the book itself concentrates on a new character, Dia, a young woman cursed from birth to be the fourth bride of Dracula. It is a brave move, certainly, tying her series into that of Stoker's masterpiece and, in many respects, it is a natural fit as Carole Gill has always had Satan as the source of vampirism and has tied in Dracula's education at the Scholomance with another mainstay character Eco.

If I had a criticism, however, it is this. The author writes a fantastic victim and this worked so very well in the first book - when the primary character was human. With the primary character being a vampire I was less comfortable with the "female victim". It was ok when under the thrall of Dracula (or another powerful vampire) and I could accept it but I was less comfortable with the vampire being the victim of human men too. There was an in-built layer of misogyny and I would like to see the author write a strong female lead, one who isn't the victim and doesn't need rescuing by a man (vampire or human). That is, perhaps, for another book.

That criticism aside (and I hope it is taken as constructive) this was more rounded as a book than the third volume and took an interesting route by attaching itself to the Dracula mythos. 7 out of 10. Note the review was first published on my blog Taliesin meets the Vampires and was based on a complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.
