The Giants’ Spear is the final book in Jamie Edmundson’s Weapon Takers Saga, and all the various story arcs come to their final conclusion here. There’s a lot going on this book, and I can say that Jamie Edmundson hits the mark. He deftly balances the multiple story arcs and, not surprisingly, brings most of them together at the end. I sometimes had to check the handy character list at the front of the book to remind myself of names, but I never had any problem keeping the action in the various places straight.

The biggest plus here is definitely the battle scenes–The Giants’ Spear is even heavier on battles than the first three books. The battles are realistic and lucidly explained, genuinely exciting, and full of all the heroism and cowardice, strategy and reverses, and blood and gore one could hope for.

But Jamie doesn't forget the human element. Individual characters are well-defined and have their own personalities and challenges, intriguing adventures, and character arcs. For readers who are fans of careful description of medieval warfare, this series will be an especial treat, but I can recommend it for practically any fantasy lover.

This review is for the entire series. It's truly an epic saga of strength, hope, love and sacrifice. There's even a bit of romance, but more than anything it was a great adventure. I'm looking forward to more from this author. 5 stars is not enough, I give it all 10 fingers up, and that won't begin to give it justice.

One giant step towards killing the enemy for good!! This final book was just as amazing as the rest and brings the main story line to an amazing end while leaving some smaller story lines open for possibly more books to follow, which would be fantastic!! This author is one not to be missed!!!

Fantastic conclusion to a epic fantasy series. Battles will rage, populations are decimated, but the search continues for the final weapons. Nobody knows if the weapons of the goddess will be able to turn the tide of an enemy that seems to have endless numbers. Emperors, kings and kingdoms fall, but seven unlikely heroes, will come together to destroy a god.

I thought these characters were absolutely fascinating, as well as compelling, and unique. Magical battles, mages, gods, magical weapons created by a goddess, strange and sometimes scary races, within a plot with plenty of twists that keep you guessing, and reading into the night.

I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.

The final book of “The weapon Takers Saga” was a fitting end to a tale of vast scope. I was engaged throughout the series and now wish for more tales of the friends I encountered reading these tales.
    Thank You, Jamie!

Plenty of war, gods and mystical weapons but it is the characters themselves that make it a story worth reading.

As with all the other books in the series, the last book was full of fast paced action and trials for all the main characters from start to finish and hard to put down.

This series has been a real pleasure to read and this was definitely a fitting conclusion. It had all the elements for a fantasy epic and the writing skill of the author deserves a huge amount of credit for bringing this to life. There's a couple of intriguing threads left at the end and I'll certainly be reading anything else he writes in the future.

I would have enjoyed this more if the map had the towns, cities and locales marked. With the large amount of characters involved and the constant switching from one part of Dalryia to another, to be able to pinpoint where one actually was would have made things a lot easier. All in all a great read.

The Giants Spear was a fitting ending to the Saga. It tied up all the storylines and although some of the main characters died, it was still satisfying. Lots of action too.

In the vein of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, this epic story takes us trough many lands and among many different peoples. There are many heroes and lots of evil villains. It is an engaging story and well worth reading.
