    This is another entry in the "Hush Liverpool" universe and its just as good as the first one if not better. You get drawn into the lives of Juliet (a character introduced in the first book) and Paige right from the start and you're immediately invested in their story. You feel their joys and sorrows, their pain and healing, their insecurities and their budding strengths. This is a heartwarming story of incredible patience and a love so strong you have to believe in them despite what they have to overcome. All in all, another Five Star Read from Melissa Tereze!

    This book has some really sweet moments. The two MCs are beautiful together overall. There is about a 20 year age gap. I try to read age gap romances with a shorter gap, but I didn't find out how wide this gap was in any reviews. (Age gap romances aren't always my cup of tea)

    The domestic violence portion is done tastefully. I give it a 4 out of 5 because like most of this author's books at times it gets a bit repetitive as well as a bit too much of assumption to the point of not finding out the truth, which causes unnecessary hurt.

    Melissa's done it again. A touching story with heart, characters you care about, love that you love and want for yourself, tenderness and patience along with amazing sex... what more can you ask for? Juliet and Paige are both beautiful souls and they are gorgeous together, both very supportive of the other and they grow through their insecurities together.

    There is a domestic violence scene where Paige's abusive husband, whom she has left, assaults her. I thought it was dealt with in a conscientious manner and was as non-graphic as it could be. Paige's feelings and actions afterward are talked about quite a bit, as are Juliet's feelings on the subject and her love and care for Paige.

    There are humorous moments and many emotional moments. My eyes welled up many times reading this book, both from beautiful moments between Juliet and Paige, as well as sad moments. I think there were far more beautiful moments between these two. I read this book straight through, except for a few hours of sleep in the early morning. I highly recommend this book.

    I don't know how this author can write the most exquisite books every time. She took on an abominable subject and handled it with such care and insight. I was so glad to get Juliet's story. She definitely needed someone to love. Enter Paige. My heart went out to both of these ladies. Juliet was so patient with Paige who was so emotionally wrecked. I loved how their relationship evolved. Their love for each other was evident throughout the whole book. Paige needed just what Juliet wanted to give her. It's all about overcoming a horrid past and learning to trust and to believe in one's self worth. Please don't hesitate to read this book. Oh, yeah, the song for the epilogue gave me some misty eyes. Loved this whole thing! Many thanks, Melissa, for giving your readers these pages.

    This is a very sensitive subject that’s being addressed in this story. Author did a nice job of putting resources at the end that’s why I gave it 2 stars.

    But this plot was not even remotely believable or engaging. It didn’t get me to hate the bad guy or even cheer for the main characters development. The dialogue just seemed so flat. Even the side characters were silly and didn’t add to the overall story.

    I’ve read a few of these authors books and I’ve tried to give her writing style a chance. But I’m sorry to say these characters, when they talk and attempt to process their emotional journey, it’s like listening to naive 18 to 21 year olds stumble along. But both these characters are suppose to be much older and they seem like they are just emotionally held back. The way they spoke to each other was not sultry or sexy. No real banter or flirting. Just too clumsy for me.

    It’s absolutely ridiculous that a former lawyer who is smart enough to have a high end business would allow her young very insecure lover to convince her otherwise… to convince her (I repeat a former lawyer) that she would be okay to go and see her physically abusive partner. On. Her. Own?!! Nope, I’m not buying it. And the plot twist with her friend. That twist was obvious early on and yet Juliet couldn’t put two and two together? She’s was a criminal lawyer. Oh sadness in that.

    I mentally palmed my forehead during the end of the second act of this book. I couldn’t fully finish the book after that. I just skimmed to get to the epilogue.

    Out of the other 3 books (At First Glance, was decent) I’ve read a few books from this author, this is to only one I couldn’t finish.

    This is not your average love at first sight HEA. This is a very understanding and respectful rendition of a normal person dealing with an horrific past. It’s also a celebration of recovery and redemption.
    Recommend this to anyone who understands the human condition is far from perfect, it’s hard and tough and ugly at times, but there can be joy in the imperfections.

    With many up and down points this one really kept me glued to my chair to keep turning page after page.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read what they next write. I would love to see a second instalment to delve into Juliet’s past or should I say her past catching up with her. I really thought someone would appear and try to cause her harm therefore making the emphasis on her security (both the guard and locks on her door) more relevant. As much as I don’t want to read about Juliet being hurt, after this book I can really see how Melissa would unfold it on the pages and I just know it would be another captivating, rollercoaster read.

    Plus, I love the chemistry and would thrive off another instalment of Juliet and Paige. Thanks for another exquisite book. Plus the steamy parts are fantastic!

    Wow,let me get my breath back a mo..
    That was one hell of a roller coaster ride! So many twists and turns, ups and downs…god I hate roller coasters. This book however, i loved. I remember Juliet from the previous book so had an idea of what to expect from her. But it turns out she’s just a big marshmallow! And Paige well..she needed all that squishy stuff and the tuff outer shell that is Juliet.
    It’s another great book that drags you into its embrace. It will keep you turning the pages and muttering “one more chapter” at 1am! Has everything you expect from a Tereze book and so much more. Plus a playlist that has some absolute crackers on it.
    So, grab a brew and a blanket. Plonk yourself in a comfy chair and enjoy your time in The Hideout.
