Purchase options and add-ons
But brother Choice has unfinished business. His bad boy biker past is quickly catching up to him and he’s desperate to meet the demands of a deal he made long ago. His strange and secretive behavior only puts his sister Liberty more on edge as she faces the spectral screams and war-cries of the desert phantoms that surround them.
Liberty’s only consolation to the madness comes in the form of ranch hand, Miguel Alvarez. But even as Liberty feels herself falling for the charming and handsome Miguel, she also begins to suspect he’s only one of many out to steal the family inheritance from under her by any means possible.

About the author

Raised in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, but forever longing for the White Sands of New Mexico, Pamela loves traditional 19th century Gothic Horror writers such as Poe, Stoker, Radcliffe, and Collins. Her modern Horror favorites include Tanith Lee, Stephen King, Hunter Shea, and Shirley Jackson. She has written more than a dozen novels.
In 2020, Pamela began writing and illustrating Children's books. Her first was a revised edition of a story she wrote when she was nine years old, "Bill, The Worm Who Ran Away". Most recently, "Wacky Jackie" joined the Friends of Bill The Worm family. Visit billtheworm dot com for more details.
Outside of her writing work, Pamela enjoys watching bad B-Movies, remaining ever vigilant to the possibility of encountering a UFO or Bigfoot, taking road trips with her husband, obscure museums & art galleries, and feeding the local murder of crows in her back yard. Otherwise, she’s perfectly normal.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2021I was not sure about this book when I first got it, but after starting to read it I didn't want to put it down. I was up most the night finishing it so I could see how it ended. You end up really liking the characters, and wanting the best for them. If they made it a movie I would have to watch it and I do not watch scary movies!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2021Pamela Morris just gets better and better. I'm not a big fan of gothic horror, but I thought I'd give Texas gothic horror a try, especially since I knew the author's recent visit to the state helped to inspire the story. With this in mind, I began reading with mild interest. But, as the story progressed and my interest increased, I grew agitated by characters and events, almost to the point of writing a completely different review. However, being familiar with Pamela's style, I plodded along with hopes the story would get better. It did, and the last quarter of the book rewarded my patience--I absolutely loved the ending! I don't always appreciate Morris's work: it's often tame for my tastes, and can even get a little too "scooby doo" for me. And while I'm a firm believer in the paranormal, I thought some of the ghost scenes were over the top. Yet, one has to keep in mind that some people are tuned into it better than others, (and twins often share abilities not found in other siblings). Despite these bumps in the road, the ride through the desert was worth it, and Morris amazed me with bursts of brilliance I didn't see coming, a testament to her experience and craft. I tip my hat.
