I really enjoyed this novel about a businessman who buys a piece of land, with the intent of putting up a luxury resort hotel. Unfortunately, this was Native American land, and our protagonist soon discovers that the dollars he paid for this land mean nothing to the spirits of the land. Their price is much, much higher. The author set up the story well, drawing in the reader, and keeping the suspense and sense of dread throughout. This was my first experience reading this author, and I look forward to reading more from him. Well done, Sir.

This haunting story had me intrigued from the beginning, eagerly turning pages to uncover the next price to be paid to the land. Although a novella, the characters had unique personalities with a lot of depth. The gradual change in J.S. from the beginning (purchasing his beach land) to the end of the book was especially striking and poignant; oh how different things could have been for him and many others. Spooky and thought-provoking, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m excited to read more from Jacy Morris!!

I love the concept of this book and the turns that it took to show the main character that he truly needed to recognize dotty , and see her love for him, and wake his drunk ass up too, drank too much! Will read the others by this author!

This was a very interesting story in that greed has a way of eating you and spitting you out and leaving you with nothing. I think I have found a new horror author well written.
