When I'm not writing a new book, I'm either hanging out with my dogs, talking with my fans online, or reading some amazing urban fantasy, paranormal romance, or fantasy romance series (always a series, never a stand-alone, because I hate to fall for a character and never see them again), or re-watching some Buffy or Supernatural.

Whoa! On to the next 16.
It took it a few chapters to get started, but once it got started, it really took off. It was so easy to get sucked into this world. I really like the time stamps, dual POV, and the detail of the characters. The writing was smooth and easy to read. Seeing as this is a prequel to the series I know this is just going to get better and better! If you’re a fan of fated mates and destiny this is a book for you! I can't wait to read what else this author has created.

    A classic supernatural romance with a sprinkle of conspiracy and a promise of intrigue.

    I didn't want to put this book down, it was so fun to read! The story was compelling, the plot was more than just a push to put two people together, and it kept me hooked until the end. I'll happily be picking up the next book in the series.

    The spicy scenes had some great imagery and scenes that aren't used enough in the romance genre in my opinion it was a good change of pace from the standard spicy scenes. I took slight issue with the repeated use of contractions which jarred me a bit.

    The only reason I docked a star was some editing issues, the way the tense changed sometimes, and the way the story was paced. Individually it wasn't much of an issue but it kept breaking the immersion which was mildly annoying. Definitely not awful as some (looking at you JLA) and easy enough to get back into the book and 100% still solidly recommend giving it a try.

    These characters drew me right into this series. They weren’t your typical pair from the start. I had no idea how this would end, there were just so many twits and turns. I think what I loved most was the personalities of the lead characters. And… the sex scenes were sizzling in a all-men-should-learn-these-moves kinda way.     I've been in a bit of a reading slump where nothing I have read quite captured my interest, and I actually haven't picked up a book in 3 or 4 months. I saw Charlie Nottingham's Tik Tok teasing the premise of this book and had to hunt it down and read it. I couldn't put this book down and I immediately fell in love with Laila and Jeremy and flew through this and several others in the series quite quickly. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series and find out more about the characters!

    I started reading this book a few months ago and in the beginning it was so enjoyable I couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed reading and learning about Jeremy and his family and the paranormal world they lived in. The romance scenes were enjoyable for me to read thru and I felt it gave the story and their relationship a lot of connection. However, I really didn’t enjoy the amount of drugs used as coping mechanisms in the story and I was starting to actually really dislike Laila. After the way she reacts during an unexpected situation that starts off in a hospital, I had to put the book down and wait a few months to finish it. I won’t read the next book more than likely but it had some amazing potential in it.

    I loved the dual POV, getting to see into the male leads head is a rare treat that I thoroughly enjoyed. The romance between Laila and Jeremy was slow to start but still enjoyable when they did eventually fully get together. The explicit scenes in this book were a solid 10/10 and even made me blush which is hard thing to do. The only thing I dock this book for is the fact that at every turn it felt like Laila was getting knocked out or injured which is understandable as she's basically human for most of the book but still something I found annoying. Solid read, I give it a 4/5 and would definitely reccomend to someone looking for an in-between books kind of series!

    No spoilers…Love the story so far. Not too dark in my option but please check TW/CW before starting series. Great character building & intro in this paranormal world. Not so intense or jargon heavy you feel lost. Spice doesn’t start until later in book. If you’re looking for spicy scenes in every chapter this isn’t that. This author does have other books that are spicier so if that’s what you want check their other books. Overall great start to a series.
