Operation Liberty (The Last Hunter Book 10) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,986 ratings

Aliens invaders hold human worlds. That cannot stand.

Admiral Jack Romanoff and his crew have defeated the Locusts once and for all, but they are far from the only invaders infesting the Confederation. The time to go after the xenophobic Novarites and free those worlds has come, and nothing will stand in his way.

If words aren’t enough, show them your teeth and bite deep.

There are times in war when quarter is neither asked for nor given. The only thing that can slake the combatants’ thirst is their enemy’s lifeblood. Then it’s war to the knife that doesn’t end until one side is dead.

That time has now come, and humanity’s enemies must bleed.

These two guys write one heck of a book and series. I read about two a week because they’re entertaining, intriguing and while I’m reading I kind of forget all of my pains & worries as a PTSD 90% disabled combat vet.
I mentioned this only because these books are so good that it takes you out of this world and puts you into theirs, and that’s a book worth reading

I really like this story, but the angst these people seem to have over things anyone with any real life experience has is just ridiculous. ... and to have your spy character give a crap about taking money from criminals, really ? .. and it someone had given me a stealth spaceship, and you came along and said oh by the way, that belongs to the government now .... let's just say telling you to go ( self procreate ) would be the least of what would happen

Another good installment in the 'Last Hunter' series. Admiral Jack Romanoff is making progress, securing the local systems, putting things back into a semblance of order after the initial alien invasion. The bigger issues of the coup d'état within the Confederacy remains to be addressed another day. The development within this series is interesting; most books in this genre would have Romanoff front and center as the main character from the first chapter of first book going forward with everyone else off to the side in support roles . In the 'Last Hunter' that has been changing as there is a core group around Romanoff that has now taken center stage, leaving him more and more off to the side as they start to carry more and more of the story forward. Lisa Gain has become a pivotal character and much of this book revolves around her and her transition from her initial status as a criminal hacker, to trusted computer security specialist, and now moving into the world of intelligence operations. The same pattern holds true for the other main side characters, all gradually growing in position and influence. This is a smart way to move the story line forward and makes for a very interesting method of character development and as well as plot advancement. Highly recommend this series by Chaney and Mixon, one of the very best currently out there.

Jack and his crew score more hard fought victories. Now his attention will shortly turn to Earth and the Confederation Coup. I’m not sure the Coup leaders are ready for Jack and the crew.

I have read over 15,000 such and related genre. This series is exceptionally well written with no spelling or plot errors! I will be reading everything written by the two authors. Plus it has quite a bit of well thought out science/technology items that are very plausible.

Operation Liberty is a highlight among the last few books of The Last Hunter series for me because it blends substantial military developments with lots of character development. Some of Patrick's toys get deployed against the Admiral Romanoff's enemies. Overall, the war against the Tardans and the Novarites is starting to turn in humanity's favor. The authors did a great job developing a variety of characters in this installment which is uncommon in the military sci-fi genre. I'm looking forward to the next installment in this series.

So many things going on. Patrick giving all sorts of advanced technology to even up the odds with the massive number of invaders they're facing. And then finding new ways to combine alien tech with Confederation. The game keeps changing.

Another winner from J.N. Chaney & Terry Mixon! Admiral Jack Romanoff and crew are making good headway against the two alien invaders. He is still juggling prosecuting their drive to free the invaded colonies on various worlds while developing better weapons and materials thanks to the indirect assistance from a renegade third alien society. Confused? Not to worry. The authors do a great job of keeping the reader on track and informed!

Lots of intrigue and lots of battles, can't ask for much more than that
Lots of the sub plots get a mention, politics, alien tech, intelligence gathering and Patrick, or at least his influence, forms a large part of the story
Overall a good solid story, which progresses the overall narrative nicely

…To be fair the fast paced nature of this epic tale, means reviewing every book would get a little repetitive, so I’m doing every fifth instalment.

O.K. Onto book ten, everything seems to be going well for our band of intrepid heroes. The enemy is falling like ten pins, the bad guys are being rounded up.

So I definitely know something terrible is about to occur in book 11. (Law & Order “Dun. Dun!”).

Another instalment on the survival of humanity against over whelming odds. Lots of fighting in space and on the ground, special ships, use of diabolical weapons and much more.

A cool story that’s turned into a real page-turner. I look forward to more of the story at the end of November, I’ll survive on more mundane fare until then.
