The Lazarus Child: An action-packed Gothic vampire thriller (Blood Riders Book 3) Kindle Edition
A daughter kidnapped by evil bloodsuckers...
A slayer father who’ll rip the world apart to find her...
A scheming infernal pulling the strings...
Legendary nosferatu hunter Anton Yoska is on the edge of despair, tortured by rumours that the precious child he once thought dead is still alive and lost in a world of monsters.
One creature alone knows for sure what happened to her, but Terek Modjeski won’t divulge his secret - revelling in the twisted power it gives him over his long-time enemy.
Face to face with Terek in his maximum security cell, Anton realises only the most heinous methods will make his foe co-operate. Yet using them will break every code he has ever lived by; making him as much of a demon as those he hunts.
But maybe there is another way - a desperate gamble so audacious that only a madman would try it; a man who isn’t afraid to bring the wrath of Heaven down on his head...

I feel like my emotions have had a work out when I spend a day reading this series. A great story that just flows and makes you want to keep on going - even if it is 1AM! Sharonbeyondthebooks.wordpress.com
I love a good vampire book and this ticks all the right boxes. It had my gripped throughout. A must read for vampire fans - Jolene's Book Corner
The writing is snappy and visceral. The action sequence flow like blood over steel, the world building is a misty midnight and foggy as a nightmare. The book has great pace, aided by some nicely fleshed out and nuanced characters. A good dark romp to sink your teeth into - PagefarerBookBlog
The book has a great Van Helsing feel to it and was a fun, fast and furious read. A fabulously addictive read that let me escape after a tough and draining day at work. Very highly recommended - Donnasbookblog.wordpress.com
Jay Raven keeps surprising me with the route this series is taking. Book after book I love it even more. It's a page turner - I couldn't put it down and read most of it at night which was quite interesting for my dreams afterwards! - Jess Bookish Life

About the author

Jay Raven writes gothic horror with bite.
From vampire-hunting thrillers steeped in danger to witch-burning sagas laced with suspicion and sin, his stories are packed with action, dark twists, and tormented heroes who battle evil with blade, bullet, and black humour.
A lifelong fan of classic horror cinema and vintage pulp fiction, Jay resurrects the spirit of old-school monsters and cursed magic for a modern audience. Think Van Helsing meets The Crucible—with a body count and a heart.
When not dreaming up fresh nightmares, he lives in a creaking old house on the edge of 500 acres of bat-haunted woodland—perfect for conjuring shadows, whispers, and things best left buried.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWow! Another intriguing action story!
A small backstory without giving away spoilers:
Vampire hunter, Anton Yoska is back with his teammates Quintz and the bear, Samson as they journey on their quest to find out what happened to his daughter, Gretchen.
Anton and crew know that the only way find out what happened to Gretchen is to enlist the help of the vampire Terek Modjeski and they know it will not be easy to extract the information, but they will do whatever it takes to get it even if it means a little vampire torture - whatever works.
Thoughts:
Love this series and reading it from the first book Crimson Siege gives more of background on Anton and company along with other characters that come into play with this series including: Crown Prince Leopold, Tomas, and Julius Gant along with the vampire villains which are Terek Modjeski and Sabina Modjeski.
The characters just all mesh together within this series and brings forth the focus of the storyline as it moves along at a fast pace. There is quite a bit of suspense, mystery, and action that abounds within these pages which kept me on my toes as I didn't know what would happen next!
The author, Jay Raven has a writing style that just grabs you from the opening chapter and holds you in suspense throughout the storyline! Looking forward to the next installment.
Giving this book 4.5 stars and rounding it up to five "intense" stars!
Highly recommend to all action packed vampire lovers!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2021Format: KindleBook Three in the Blood Riders Series
This story takes place five years after the Brejnei Seige. Vampires from a powerful family, Terek & Sabina Majeski, are imprisoned. Anton Yoska, who is largely responsible for the humans defeat over vampires, is looking for his daughter who was taken. He feels like he has no choice but to turn to Terek for answers but Terek just wants to torment his former rival. There’s also a secondary storyline of scientists being taken, who is taking them and why?
This is not your standard vampire story , that has been done to death, and not my favorite sub genre, this story did have a lot of action and was pretty fast paced and the the two plot lines do come together.
I did feel by not reading the previous novels I was somewhat missing a piece of the story so I do recommend readers start at the beginning, I feel like you will enjoy the story much more with that background. All in all I enjoyed this book and give it 3.5 of 5 stars. I do plan on going back and starting from the beginning, I hope this will give me better understanding of the characters and their motives.
Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and author Jay Raven for the review copy of this book. My thoughts and reviews are my own.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2021Format: KindleJay Raven is my go to author when I want horror. His writing is top notch. I’ve been reading this series, and I am absolutely loving it. I do recommend starting at book one. I think the series deserves to be fully enjoyed.
This book follows multiple plot lines, which are expertly woven and merged in the end. It is action packed, thrilling, and absolutely addictive. I cannot get enough of this series. Before Jay Raven was introduced to me, I’d given up on vampire novels. He’s brought me back in with an original and addicting take.
This is one of those books that keep me excited to read. I was absolutely immersed in this story. I read it in one sitting. I couldn’t let it go. This is an easy five star read for me and I’m highly recommending it.

Ambitious Vampire Queens, mad scientists, determined master spies, traitorous cavalry officers, and a taunting vampire prisoner with a terrible secret circle about Anton's quest like a horde of slavering ghouls.
Will his loyal friends and a bear with a hunger for vampire flesh help or hinder his desperate quest?
Will Anton Yoska discover the fate of his daughter or finally discover his own true self reflected in the mirrors of her eyes?- You'll have to read this book to find out.

5.0 out of 5 stars You won't be able to put your Kindle down!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe previous reviewer did a brilliant job in explaining the background to the story, so I won't repeat that.
I am a self-confessed fan - I put my hand up to that! I love this series; the characters are fully fleshed and believable if that isn't a weird thing to say about vampires! Anton is flawed and at times … I'll leave that for you to discover for yourself. Still my favourite character. The Lazarus Child does not disappoint on any score and can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the trilogy from the start.
5 stars from me!

Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIn book 3 of the Blood Riders series the narrative continues with the same pace, mystery and surprises as the previous 2. The story flows with the authors usual panache and there really are some lovely cliff hangers keeping you gripped right to the end.
