I will watch for monsters.”-The Light Bringer, Gods & Monsters 3

- Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2018This trilogy is a must read!!! It's amazing, phenomenal and an emotional ride... There aren't enough words to describe just how other worldly this story is... I have laughed, cried and even felt like I was somehow a part of the story... It's a soul gripping story that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what comes next. I would recommend this trilogy to anyone and everyone I can. There is so much that I want to say about this story, but it's hard to, without giving things away lol!!! Just know that the phenomenal author Janie Marie has created a story/world that everyone can relate to in some way, shape or form... Thank you for the amazing journey, I will treasure it forever...
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2018This trilogy is one of my all-time favorite stories!!
Each book in this trilogy has taken us deeper and deeper into this apocalyptic world where Gods and Monsters (myths and legends) reveal themselves and their true purpose. If you read the first book and thought you knew where this was all leading, you're in for a surprise. Even after the second you wouldn't be able to guess, but by then, you'd know that this story is full of surprises. The author has this magical way of leading you through so many twists and turns that blow your mind, but at the same time, fit so perfectly into the larger map of the story. At the end of this last book of the series, you can't help but look back and see the entirety of the story, how each part played a role, and how even the darkest parts make up this beautiful whole-- and that's the most mind blowing part of it all, when you see it all fall into place.
Forgiveness, love, and redemption were some of the main themes of this book, and while that sounds all positive, it takes you through the darkest parts of a person's heart to get there. It was an emotional journey that will have you feeling every way possible. So many conflicting emotions even on the same events, you both love and hate some of the choices each character makes. But in the end, the growth seen from book one to the end of book three is phenomenal. They all grew into their purpose, just the way they were intended to be. But it's not just the characters that grow, the reader does too. And that is a rare quality to a book that makes me wish I could give this more than five stars.
If you haven't started this trilogy, you should. Go get book 1: Gods and Monsters. It must be read in order.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2020Well this book left me so confused and I’m still not sure if I need to read the next one even tho is not about Jane’s story. Regardless I have to say that I was a bit heartbroken I feel like Jane went through sooo much and she deserved the absolute best. Death and David kept pulling her from side to side ( especially David) taking so much from her. I prefer David from Jane’s team 😂 Anyways I was thinking that in this trilogy she ended up with all of them and it seems that it’s only on that alternate world that she gets her wish.
Jane was such a great MC because she was so raw and sometimes we need that. We need to see that crying is alright, that having a little darkness is alright and that it depends only on you what happens to your life. I have to admit I fell in love with many many guys 😂 even towards the end I felt something for Lance and I wanted my girl to have everyone because she deserved to be loved by every male on that book.
Excellent trilogy ! Thank you for this magical world
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2022This was a good book don’t get me wrong. I laughed and cried but my biggest reason for 3 stars is because it didn’t seem to flow at the end. One second it was the present and the next it was 7 years later. Also at the end she seemed to be lost in her mind but no explanation as to why. Then she seemed fine and was acting normal. Don’t get me started on the last chapter. What was this punishment that they both were dealing with. I feel like things were rushed and not explained right. I’m still so confused about this book. But I absolutely loved the banter in this book and have never laughed as much as I have reading this book. This series is awesome and I feel like if things were explained a little better I would have given it 5 stars. And maybe it’s my fault for not understanding anything at the end. Again this series it’s on my list of favorites and will definitely come back to read it again.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2020I first got noticed of this book when Whos afraid of the big bad wolf? Came out. I’ve been following the story since I was 15 and now I will be turning 19 in just a few days. This book has opened my eyes. It has opened my heart and even me longing for my own angel of death. I recommend this book to anyone, seriously. The first two books are just as amazing. As she has become one of my favorite writers! The story, the imagery, the plot, the love and everything in between is what made this story. What Janie has given to this story, her soul, and now I give a piece of my soul too. I will follow Jane where’s she goes because she has made me realize so much. Relating to Jane in a way I’ve never been able to before. I truly love this book. I love everything about it. And if you have the chance to read all three. I would and I would extend it to everyone you know because this is simply a masterpiece. Janie I hope one day you get the recognition you deserve because our writing and story telling is out of the world ! Never stop.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2022As a person who likes to know all the details about what is happening in a story, this book frustrated the crap out of me. For about the last 20% I did not understand what was happening, and I eventually figured it out, but then the last little blurb confused me again. I think if I take the time to consider it all, I'll figure out exactly what happened there at the end, but Holy cow what a story! I don't know how the author came up with all that stuff, but BRAVO! Such an interesting conglomeration of characters that I have never thought would go together, but she made it work and the ending was satisfying. Thanks for the read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Es ist etwas chaotisch

5.0 out of 5 stars Book Review - THE LIGHT BRINGER by Janie Marie
𝖲𝗒𝗇𝗈𝗉𝗌𝗂𝗌:
With the Final Battle drawing near, the love, honor, and duty of all will be tested. Rules will be broken and alliances will shift as the lines between Heaven and Hell are blurred, crossed, and ignored. Discovering one's true loyalty will no longer be as simple as it once seemed. Every secret will be told, every lie will be uncovered, and every question that could possibly be asked will come to light in the wake of blood and death. Love, jealousy, and pride are where this story began…What will happen when it ends where it all started?
.
𝖱𝖾𝗏𝗂𝖾𝗐:
This final book of the trilogy definitely tests boundaries in the best way. The insane battles, characters and fantastic imagery left me in awe. I was hooked in to every chapter as there was never a dull moment to the point that it was sometimes too much to handle and take in. I loved the drama, romance, action, characters and the overall direction the story went.
.
𝖯𝗅𝗈𝗍:
Literally just so amazingly clever with how truths came out, revealing every secret to where everything made sense was came together nicely. I loved that by the end everything was explained leaving no plot holes left unfilled. The storyline involved so many twists and turns that keeps you alert the whole time reading. I really enjoyed the mythological aspect the book and series included since that topic interests me and I got to learn more.
.
𝖶𝗋𝗂𝗍𝗂𝗇𝗀:
Was so magical and so powerful. It captivated me with the writing style so much that I was able to feel EVERYTHING! I definitely cried over many scenes that were involved because of how deep the wording was.
.
𝖢𝗁𝖺𝗋𝖺𝖼𝗍𝖾𝗋𝗌:
The characters were truly so incredibly in depth. I felt like they were real people with how I could connect with them so easily. There were moments when they’d either make me cry or laugh from how funny and weirdly awkward they’d be. I loved how they all went through major growth and different amounts of redemption. Most of them will be added to some of my favorite characters of all time with how unforgettable they are.
-
𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 = she is such a strong flawed female character that I’ve grown to love. I realized over time just how real of a character she is by all her flaws. This caused me to relate to her so much more especially her constant crying because girl…me too.
-
𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 = firstly, he is so freaking good with words! Secondly, he was the Mr. Papi Perfect of the whole trilogy. And lastly, I seriously love him so much!
-
𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 = this immortal specimen gave me so many feelings!! He has a special place in my heart. The amount of love he would’ve had to have for Jane to go through and do what he did is incredible and so inspiring. The fact that without Jane he is just Death and nothing more but with Jane he was able to do something no one expected and actually show love to not only her but the people she cared able to make her happy. Geez I’m getting teary again...
-
𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 = I really loved the more amount of Lucifer! I knew that there was more to him than the second book showed. The fact that he was looking out for Jane so fiercely and loving her so much behind the scenes of it all…breaks my heart.
-
𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘁 = I wanted to talk about this side character a bit because I feel that my feelings for him completely changed over the course of the trilogy. My first impression of Lancelot was that I found his name choice amusing but did not like him as a character at all. In this last book, the amount of pain he suffered, growth he endured and redemption that he received caused me to fully go soft and love him. He quickly became one of my favorite characters and I ended up crying over him a lot because of the new light perspective I was shown. I appreciate what he did for Jane in the end and will miss him.
.
𝖱𝗈𝗆𝖺𝗇𝖼𝖾:
Jane ended up having many love interests but I lived for it! It honestly didn’t bother me and I loved them all for different reasons. The romance got so hot and steamy with some scenes since instead of just a love triangle, it went in the direction of a three person relationship! I love the taboo style and how it was new territory with me but ended up enjoying it because of how it was dealt with in such a mature, no misunderstandings kind of way. I also appreciated how it was made very clear each time that all the participants wanted it.
.
𝖤𝗇𝖽𝗂𝗇𝗀:
The ending was an unexpected conclusion with A LOT going down which caused a bit of confusion at times but I understood more when it all came together and enjoyed it. There were many time gaps of years between the last chapters but I liked how that gave me the chance to read the characters’ lives after the main story and major battle.
.
𝖮𝗏𝖾𝗋𝖺𝗅𝗅:
This book was an epic finale to this great fantasy trilogy that I’ll never forget! I definitely recommend to those looking for a fast paced, action-packed, emotional ride filled with a lot of fantasy and sexy immortals to fall in love with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Epic!
This the final book in the Gods & Monsters series and it was epic. While the first 2 books often leave you with a ton more questions than answers, this final part is where it all comes to light.
You might have thought you knew what you were getting into after reading book 1, or even book 2, but this book throws all those expectations right out the window. The amount of plot twists and all the secrets that will be revealed will finally make sense.
You will realise that every little action in the previous books all lead to this one final epic part.
Be prepared to go on an emotional rollercoaster from hell… At times you’re gonna cry, scream in frustration, laugh, cheer out loud or get extremely angry or even all of the emotions at once, but it’ll be worth it.
While I often feel that trilogies get drawn out too much, I didn’t have that in this series at all. There’s so much going on it’s impossible to get bored with it. You get it all, magic, fairytale creature, mythology, love, action and so much more!
The characters are real and very relatable and with the way the story is written, you’ll feel like you’re right there to experience it all with them. Their growth, their sorrows, victories, all of it. Which is what made this final book hard for me to read. I felt for the characters, I lived it with them and every bad thing that happened hurt my heart and every good thing made me smile like an idiot in public!
It’s very important to read book 1, Gods & Monsters, first. The books have to be read in order. And even if it’s a huge story, you’ll thank yourself for picking it up!
This isn’t just a book, it’s so much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars My heart aches but theres a fire in my chest
I dont know how to write this review without it being based on the pure emotion this triology has pulled out of me, but maybe that shows the true power of the way its been written.
I could write pages about all the new perspectives and strength this triology has filled me with.
I absolutely love this story and every character within it. I love how true each character is. How they fall and stand up stronger. Every time. I love how its always inspired me, with every page i turned. Oh man, I've never loved a story so much.
A beautiful, yet tragic and almost incomplete end to the most beautiful, yet tragic and almost imcomplete characters i have ever had grace my mind.
Thank you for sharing Janie. Keep being our Captain Queen. Im still following.
