Aimee Brown is a writer of romantic comedies set in Portland, Oregon. She writes closed door romance (NO sex scenes, light kissing) with humor and crude language. She spends much of her time writing, raising three kids (who are all nearly grown now), binge-watching shows on Netflix and obsessively cleaning and redecorating her house. She's fluent in sarcasm and has been known to utter profanities like she's competing for a medal.

Aimee grew up in Oregon but is now a transplant living in cold Montana with her husband of twenty+ years, two of three children, and far too many pets. She is a lot older than she looks and yes, that is a tattoo across her chest.

Aimee is very active on social media. She'd love to have you stop by and say hi!

Books like this are the reason I read ChickLit, “The Lucky Dress” (formerly “Little Gray Dress”) was captivating from the first pages and endearing 'til the last. The character interactions, dialogue, realistic scenes and reactions, delicious sexual tension, and relatable, lovable characters kept me on edge as the story unfolded to the happily-ever-after I was hoping for.

Take a bridesmaid dress from hell, add a wedding with an ex-fiancé as best man, a hot bartender, an epic misunderstanding, and a mean girl that would make Regina George seem like a kindred spirit and you have the receipt for a perfect romantic comedy.

The story kept me on my toes until the very end, which was such an AWW moment.

I loved how in alternating chapters the story moved both forward in the present and backward to the past. It was a super clever writing device.

In short, witty and full of heart… a total gem!

I just finished The Lucky Dress, and did enjoy it very much. The people are very believable, and we have all been in the position of wanting our hurts to go away. Nice happy ending, of course!

However, I had quite a bit of problems with the comma placements. There were many, many instances of improper usage. Sometimes sentences were only clauses, sometimes they were run-one, sometimes there needed to be commas for clarification, and sometimes commas were in unnecessary or even misleading places. I often needed to reread sentences or passages to determine what the author really meant.

Aimee, if you see this, I think your writing (plot/settings/characters) was good, but the editing was unfortunately not. If you are interested, I would be willing to proofread any of your future books to improve the grammar, and to help you avoid preventable confusion for the reader.

The lucky dress is a blue dress, which in the first edition was gray. Emi has been avoiding her ex-boyfriend, with whom she was about to marry, for a year but with her twin brother Evan going to marry she is forced to return to the city and face him. It's a bit more complicated than this since his brother is going to marry his ex's sister and besides seeing him he has to spend time with him as brides maid and groom men. For this challenge moment in her Life she need to wear her Blue lucky dress. This book was a trip from one event after another, I did not expect the outcome to be so short and that a character not even secondary was so important about the end. I was not hooked, it was a quick read and the plot ended up making sense, to my surprise. I see it as comedy as 'if you marry I kill you' by Jenifer López and Jane Fonda. I really liked the character of Emi and coincided with his stubborn reactions but I think it could have been more than it was. It was a light but entertaining read

I liked the characters in this story. Aimee gave each character enough attention to fill them out realistically to fit their place in the story. So, when someone said or did something their action fit the personality. This made for a very satisfying read. Thank you for a great reading experience! I can't wait to read Liam's story.

This book is the best romance I have ever read. But because is practically a new genre for me, I am not sure that sometimes about the pattern they follow. Sometimes it dragged and I just wanted to know if ever they will make everything right. And his mother Amelia is just great.

I don’t actually read much contemporary romance, but saw it in kindle unlimited and thought I would give it a try. The characters are engaging and the style of storytelling pulled all the threads of their story together in the end. I would read other books by this author.

This story was deliciously romantic and disappointing. I hated the flipping from the present to the past !!
Jack was not innocent as you portray him to be. If he loved Emi as much as he claimed , his secretary would never
never ended up naked on top of him in his office!! He would have stopped her immediately. He wouldn't have invited Greta
(a different scantily clad woman) into his and Emi's apartment later that said day.

Limon was a better choice.

I love this writer! It is so crazy disappointing to get into a book and find a lazy immature female character who basically does nothing in life but act like an idiot and gets the 'great guy/life/job'. Not here. I love them all. Well written with real life emotions. I hope this writer has more books. I'm hooked.

At the moment I tend to read a lot of what I'd call "chiclit" to unwind after work and this novel has been utterly enjoyable.

Wonderful is one of the words that comes to mind. The characters were really great and even though I don't usually enjoyreading books that jump back and forth in time, I really, really enjoyed reading this book! Fantastic. I even had a tear or two at the end. Thank you Aimee :)
