The Oni: A demon, a man and a curse Kindle Edition
One morning a demon approaches and tells you: "I wanna do some good," would you believe it?
The story takes place during the first half of the twentieth century. It starts a typical day in the life of Chicaramochi Tanaka, better at his job than with people. He is somehow bitter and wonders whether he should just end it.
The Sasori Oni is tired of the curse that condemns its way of living, but the Gods are not ready to relieve it. Desperate for a change, The Oni grabs the opportunity to help the despondent Tanaka.
However, the last thing Tanaka wants is help, and especially not from a demon. Going against the challenge the persistent Oni puts before him, Tanaka soon realizes he has more than one demon to face.
Before the unlikely couple knows what hit them, their fates interlace.
Ready to join them on their journey? Take the chance, have a "Look Inside" to start enjoying this magic realism novelette today.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2019The Oni is one of the new generation of Kindle Short Reads. It reflects an evolving desire to consume entertainment and information in much less time than it takes to read a traditional full-length book.
It revolves around two main characters, Chikaramaki Tanaka, and Sasara Oni. I won’t spoil the plot by giving too much detail about these characters.
The book is a thriller wrapped in a parable. The story develops nicely. It easily draws the reader into the story, keeps him captivated until the end, and then teaches him a lesson.
Interestingly, the author is Venezuelan, presumably not a native English speaker, writing a story in English with a Japanese theme. She pulls it off well.
If you like short thrillers, you’ll like this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2020Was it really based on a dream? I can definately see that. Interesting book. Good short read. Pemise of the book is the relationship between the main character, Tanaka, and a cursed demon. I liked the evolution of their relationship. So I ask again. Can you be friends with a demon?
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2019The beginning was interesting and drew you in. Had me like huh, what's going on here? Different from almost anything I've read so it was refreshing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lovely story about redemption
The book really has a good story revolving around the two main characters. Their interactions are really funny and you look forward to the next one when one is over.
