Ashton Hall is trying to get over her good for nothing, ex-fiance. It has been 6 months since the wedding was called off and her friend Lulu thinks she needs to get out of the house and get laid so she reluctantly agrees to go to the Smoky Siren in hopes of a hook up.

Jax Roland is the drop-dead gorgeous home improvement star of The Right Stud and still hurting from his rejection of a wedding proposal to his co-star that was aired on national TV. Just wanting to get on with his life and start his next project for his TV show, Jax ends up on a blind date at the Smoky Siren that his sister set up. Not enjoying this date, Jax's attention starts to wander until he see this bombshell brunette walk in and he realizes that he just has to talk to her. A quick talk turns into a quick kiss and Jax realizes that he needs to get rid of his date. He asks Ashton to wait for him while he runs an errand and she agrees. Too bad he never shows back up. Ashton leaves, badly disappointed.

Ashton and her brother, Ben, inherited her Granny's old beach house. She wants to fix it up to be a bed and breakfast but her brother just wants to sell it for the money. He doesn't have a sentimental attachment to it like she does. At least Ashton has Mrs. C, her Granny's best friend living with her and providing some income. Ashton came up with the idea of contacting the TV show The Right Stud to see if they would be interested in renovating her house for free. Imagine Ashton's surprise when the star from The Right Stud that she is meeting with is none other than Jax from the Smoky Siren! It is obvious that Ashton and Jax have some great chemistry going on and now that he is living in her house, things quickly heat up.

It takes a lot for these two to get their happy ending considering Jax is hiding a very big secret. In between Mrs. C, her foul-mouthed parrot, Lulu, Jean Claude van Ram, Jax's sister and her three triplet daughters, and Ashton's brother, Ben, this story has a lot of fun, laugh out loud moments along with perfect sexy times. I just adored all these characters and the wonderful journey they went on!

Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise bring a fun, cute romance to the reader with The Right Stud. While I found this predictable it was still a fun, charming read that I couldn’t put down and devoured. With two great characters that had fantastic chemistry, their banter, affection and hormones radiated off the pages as smiles and laughs were aplenty. This was definitely one of those quick, feel good reads.

“You asked if I was happy, and the thing is, I’m not sure I know what happy is. I know what it isn’t.”

Ashton is still getting over the death of her grandma and has thrown herself into restoring the old house that she left to her and her brother. Ashton wants to keep her grandma alive by turning their once family home into a thriving bed and breakfast. Up to her eye balls in debt, thanks to her ex-fiancé, Ashton is jaded and incredibly skint, which leaves her to contact “The Right Stud” as a last resort.

Jax is The Right Stud, a burgeoning reality tv star who renovates old houses on his video channel. His channel is hugely successful and he and his PA were currently vying for the series to be picked up by TV. Ashton’s house was perfect and so their paths crossed, but no before a hot encounter when neither knew who the other was.

“The truth is, South Carolina has never made me happy…until you.”

Ashton is extremely jaded with men in general and while I wanted her to wake up and smell the coffee at times, I could to an extent understand her and empathise. Jax was adorable and perfect, and given Ashton’s reticence to trust men, lies of omission were just as bad in her book. It is this part of the plot that was obvious and had me screaming at the kindle to just tell her, but alas, that not would have made for an entertaining read.

“Okay fine. We had glorious, mind-blowing, stupefying, inconceivable, staggeringly awesome sex.”

The Right Stud is fast paced, hilarious at times and had some fantastic secondary characters that really added value to Ashton and Jax’s story. I full on belly laughed at times and was swooning at all the others. These two authors certainly write well together and have always put out enjoyable, entertaining reads.

If you're looking for a romcom to sink your teeth in then look no further in The Right Stud. This is one fantastic laugh out loud read. I think I even snorted a little here and there. Can I say first off even as a side character Mrs. C and her bird Rufus were probably my favorites. I mean come on how can you not love little old ladies with basically no filters. As for Rufus, you just have to read for yourself to see why I love him. LOL. Now back to the focus of The Right Stud. The stud aka Jax is simply hot. I mean who doesn't like a hot guy who knows his way around a tool belt. Even when Jax is put in the middle of Ashton and her brother when his second job comes to light you still love him. Ashton is doing whatever it takes to preserve her family home. You feel for her and how she continues to try to get her brother Ben to understand what she wants. I love the chemistry between Ashton and Jax. They are so hot that they leave you fanning yourself at times. They fit so well together. I really loved The Right Stud. I couldn't put this one down. Seriously Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise did such a fab job with this one. You through in goats, birds, skunks, a little family drama, no filter old lady and a hunk of a handy man with someone who is just trying to hang on to a family home and you got a winner on your hands. YOU MUST READ THIS ONE. Seriously this is a romcom you don't want to miss.
