Absolutely loved it! A must read standalone in a series! 5 Stars! Natalie has been on the streets since she was 14 and doing what she had to in order to survive. Penelope comes into her life just before she turns 18 and her life changes. Richie met Natalie one rainy night and decided she was someone to get to know. Richie and Natalie have one night of passion. The morning after she wakes up and he's gone. What will become of these two? K. L. I absolutely love reading your stories! You give a lot to each one that keeps me interested. Drama, love, heartache, suspense and a happy ending. You start with one character's point of view and towards the end throw in another main character's point of view. I truly enjoy the way you write.

    Richie and Natalie have not had many breaks in life. Family can mess with your emotions and have you doing things you would never normally do. Natalie to be able to be a kind and caring person should never have happened. I was happy to catch up with the others to find out what is happening in their lives.

    I wonder if Damien and Saffron will get to tell their story?

    Great story, but I would have liked to have seen Nat stronger when it came to Richie and his B.S.

    Natalie has been living on the streets since she was 14 years old. When Penelope (from Staff's book)finds her once again after tracking her down for almost 3 years giving her a home, a safe place to run to, and a good job, Nat can't turn down her help anymore.

    When she runs into Richie for the 2nd time, she walks away. He hurt her once and now he wants a second chance, but she's wary. She give in eventually and 4 weeks later he leaves in the middle of the night at moves back home to Ireland only leaving her a note.

    A year later, he calls her out of the blue hoping that she would hear him out and fall for his charm again.But the surprise is on him!!

    The Scars Of Life was a good story. K.L Humphreys did a great job on it, the plot was strong, it was written well. The story was filled with many feeling. Natalie has been through a lot, she was a fighter. I enjoyed hers and Richie's story. She was good for Richie, and he was for her. They completed each other in a way that both of them needed. The attraction, their connection and chemistry, it was strong. They were just great together.
    I enjoyed this story, it was great. Thank you, K.L Humphreys. Great work :)

    My Review is letters I wrote to the two new main characters in the Working Girls Series. (WINK)

    Dear Natalie,

    I love you girl. Your resiliency is so impressive. Your ability to not only power on through loss but run from abuse fills my heart with pride. I understand your shame because of what was done to you and the life choices you have made to survive but I don’t care cause YOU ARE AWESOME.

    In this story you find your tribe who teach you to love yourself again and who have your back. Ugh so good. I fall in love with your munchkin as do you. LOVE IT!

    Thanks for taking me on your journey. Everyone needs to experience this telling!

    Dear Richie,

    Ugh I wasn’t sure about you in Jess story (my fav) and it took me a while to understand you in this book. At times you were the definition of selfish.

    You taught me something in this read. It really isn’t about starting out with a perfect guy. Relationships are work and life gets in the way as do hard choices.

    As your story is revealed I become a little less judgmental but I still hurt for you all because you lost out as did others due to your choices.

    Thanks for listening. Forgiveness truly is a road you take not a destination and Natalie demonstrated that well.

    I JUST LOVE THIS SERIES. I LOVE IT SO MUCH THAT I BOUGHT ALL 4 BOOKS FROM THE AUTHOR BEFORE I EVEN FINISHED THIS LAST BOOK. LOL. I WASN'T REALLY HAPPY WITH RICHIE, BECAUSE REALLY WHAT GUY WOULD UP AND LEAVE TWICE IF HE THOUGHT EVEN A SMIDGE THAT HE WAS IN LOVE WITH A GIRL. OR ATLEAST TRY TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH HER THE SECOND TIME AFTER HE KNEW THE FIRST TIME THAT HE MESSED UP. I DON’T KNOW MAYBE I GREW A FONDNESS OVER NATALIE BECAUSE OF EVERYTHING SHE'S BEEN THROUGH BUT I'M GLAD SHE FOUND A FAMILY IN PENELOPE AND EVENTUALLY THE REST OF THE GANG. THIS BOOK IS DEFINITELY ONE TO READ AFTER THE FIRST 3 IN THE SERIES.

    to me this book felt a little to rushed! she has had a hard life and does the only thing she knows to survive. one day she is offered a life she cant refuse. life is great than she meets him. things are going great than he up and leaves breaking her heart. now hes back. read to find out what happens.

    Natalie and Richy will have you in tears from beginning to end. Amazing read of highs and lows and a whole of downs and some ups. With each word you read the pull you in more.... its heartbreakinglly beautiful read that will having you get mad at some of things Richy does and falling for Natalie and wanting to try and help her.can't wait to read more from her
