The Second Coming (Rogue Academy Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 629 ratings

They call him the second coming.
Of honor for British football.
Of God in an athlete’s body.
Of every English woman’s fantasy.

Jude Davies is my country’s prodigy on the pitch. More famous than the nobility in Buckingham Palace, he and his merry band of scoundrels rule the Rogue Football Academy and the London nightlife scene alike.

And now, he’s aiming his well-honed set of skills directly at me. His devilish charm is lethal, but with the tragic hand life has dealt me, distractions like him aren’t an option.

Plus, we’re only playing a game. One of convenience, where he needs me to save his reputation, and I need his money to save the one person I love.

Until he wraps me around that immoral finger.
Until I crave that reckless, wild high he provides.
Until I hope for a future that will never happen.

That’s the thing about going toe-to-toe with the next football legend. He’s faster, stronger, and will destroy me every time.

↪ R E V I E W ↩ Not my first read by this amazing author, she was a very new to me author not too recently. This was something new to me from her, so I had no clue what to expect. It was not what I expected for sure! I always love reading a sports romance and this one was a young and fresh one for sure, Where the hero is a young athlete on his way to the top and the heroine is a young lady who is very strong and mature for her age. The beginning is a little rocky because it was intended for a fake relationship but soon turned quickly. The drama and angst here, GAH! I was not expecting this at all! As always, Carrie Aarons writing is something out of the ballpark! Like I said earlier she was very new to me author but one book and BAM. This was a little different form my normal readings because I tend to read older characters, luckily the characters here even the side were very well written and the story it self. Good characters, lots of drama, little mystery and a lot of action mixed with romance. Jude really pulls it off towards the mid-end and becomes the man Aria deserves.

The Second Coming is the first book in the Rogue Academy series by the fabulous Carrie Aarons. I found it so enjoyable and it had the perfect blend of steam, angst and drama. The characters were well-developed with delicious dialogue. The writing was superb and engaging. I was hooked from the very first page, riveted by the world of the Rogue Football Academy. I absolutely loved Jude and Aria. They were the perfect pair with scorching hot chemistry and playful banter. The dynamic between them was wonderfully written and the sexual tension between the two so palpable from the beginning.

Carrie Aarons does an fantastic job of completely immersing the reader in the world of British football and life in England. Her writing was so authentic, on point and so well researched. From the British-isms to the dialogue between the characters, I genuinely felt like I was reading a book by a British author. As a Brit myself, it was spot on!

When I heard that Carrie was writing another soccer story, I couldn’t wait to read it. I absolutely loved Red Card and just knew that The Second Coming would be just as terrific. Carrie absolutely surpassed my every expectation on how this book would be and somehow made it even better. I appreciate and adore her writing style, and the way that she makes you fall in love with the characters. This book was absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait until the next book

The arrogant soccer player and the girl just trying to make ends meet this is the type of story that will drag me in every time.

I loved Aria she was so sweet keeping her head down, working her jobs and just trying to help her dad, she was such a lovely character and my heart broke when she just felt she couldn’t be loved or she was to scared to but that’s what made her so perfect for Jude

Jude god he annoyed me with his arrogance that is one trait i do not like but i did love reading his story and bring him back down to earth, he had it tough but he was also lucky being one of the top up and coming soccer players.

This story was really good, it was hot and steamy and fast paced we got a story where both characters hit rock bottom but then both rise above everything. Another fantastic book by Carrie Aaron’s and i can’t wait to read more

I love Carrie Aaron, her books always manage to touch all my emotions, it takes a good author to make me laugh and cry effortlessly, because I'm so in touch with a character.
That's why I can't wrap my head around the fact that, I couldn't connect with this story. I realize this book is from before I discovered her, I'm slowly trying to make a dent in her back list, but it feels like a different author altogether. I found the characters way to immature, while being described as mature and responsible. It has the feel of a wattpad story before being edited.
I hope you'll forgive me Carrie for my honesty, if someone read this story and wasn’t impressed, I just wanted to let them know that the should definitely check out your other books.

The Second Coming by Carrie Aarons did not grab me right from the start. I think it was because of Jude Davies's pompous attitude. I wasn't sure if I was going to like him. In Aarons fashion, she hooked me and once I was caught there was no way I could put this story down. It was no sleep for me.

Jude Davies is the English Football's newest God or will be if he can get his head out of his own ass. He's driven by his own stardom, Jude can't let his brothers down but his antics keep him from getting a chance at the league of his dreams. His arrogance drove me crazy but then the softer side of him touched my heart. He may have the world on his shoulders and the attention of everyone around him but it's only one girl he can't be without.

Aria not only captures the hero's heart she has mine too. What a strong character, could she have a harder life? Her love for her father had me in tears. Aria pushed aside her life for the one man that gave her life. She didn't see her own beauty or gift to the world until Jude opens her eyes to the world beyond her home and jobs.

This is such a beautiful story of strength, love, hard work and fighting for what you want. Jude and Aria's love wasn't easy, it's such a push and pull of emotions before they are willing to give in. They must realize that money and the loss of loved ones don't make them who they are and it should not set the rules for their lives. I can't wait for more from this series.

In The Second Coming by Carrie Aarons opposites definitely attract with Aria and Jude! Jude is the up and coming rising star of British soccer/football and Aria is just a girl trying to get by and working her butt off day and night to make ends meet and help her family. These two should never cross paths, until one day they do when Jude is still in the locker room when Aria is cleaning, and once Jude sets his eyes on her, he makes it his mission to get her, but Aria does everything in her power to fend him off.I loved the back and forth between these two during this book, and how they seemed to balance one another and bring out the best in each other as well. Where Jude is reckless and wild, Aria is calm and strict. Aria is ok with how her life is, and Jude wants her to dream bigger and follow her dreams, and Aria wants Jude to stop being as reckless as he always seems to be. These two truly bring out the best in each other and slowly as Jude wears Aria down, you can see how much they truly are meant for one another.I truly enjoyed watching these two  come together and how their story progressed. Both of them are extremely stubborn at times, and definitely hard headed. There's angst, laughs, and a few swoonworthy moments in this book. If you're looking for a light-hearted sports romance, I highly recommend picking up The Second Coming by Carrie Aarons today!

Jude plays football for Rogues and is cocky with his talent! He gets everything he wants until he meets Aria, a woman who works for the Rogues Academy. Aria works double shifts so that she can look after her father who has cancer. The more time they spend together, the more they fall deeper into each other. Aria brings out the better side of Jude, whilst Jude helps Aria to put aside her worries and live a little. This book was a great read that showed growth and acceptance along with passion and determination. The characters were likeable and made you want to see where their lives were taking them! Can't wait for Carrie's next book

I loved bad boy Jude! Butttt there comes a time in life where the bad boy must grow up...a bit anyways. I loved that they showed he does eventually see the error of his ways but for me personally I wasn’t a fan of how it came across to me that it was all because of finding a good woman. Yes I may be jaded in that regard but how could he almost blow his chance at everything he ever wanted with or without Aria? Aria is a tough female h, she had been through so much in her life it was nice to see her get what she deserved at the end. They make a cute couple together. Overall I really did enjoy this book.

I wish I had of read this back when I first got it then I might have enjoyed it a whole lot more. I didn’t mind it until the headmaster came out with the blackmail.

This is the arrogant playboy jock, taken down a peg or two buy the feisty blonde who has too many responsibilities to run off and have fun with him. Hence, he pursues, she eventually relents and they fall in love.
