The Seeker: An Urban Fantasy Romance Novel (Irin Chronicles Book 7) Kindle Edition
Summoned to the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, Rhys of Glast, Irin archivist and scribe of Istanbul, must convince a legendary Irina singer to trust him. His success could shift the balance of power all over the Irin world and give singers an important key to their past.
Meera didn’t call for Rhys’s help and she doesn’t need it. The scribe’s mission is to bring more martial magic into the Irin world while Meera has been looking for a path toward peace. She’s convinced that some other motive is at work, and his stubborn arrogance doesn’t pass for charm in her hallowed opinion.
Discovering ancient Irina magic should be something both scholars can agree on, but can these two rivals find any common ground? Neither Rhys nor Meera can ignore the simmering heat between them, but will attraction overcome the caution that has shaped both their lives?
The Seeker is a standalone, enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance. It is the seventh book in the Irin Chronicles, a romantic contemporary fantasy series by Elizabeth Hunter, USA Today bestselling author of the Elemental Mysteries.

Review
--Kendrai Meeks, author of the Red Hood Chronicles
The passion between Rhys and Meera burned oh so good. Their chemistry was electric and I never doubted that they were made for each other. Elizabeth has a way with writing love scenes that aren't graphic, but still pack a punch in the steamy heat department.
--Smut & Bonbons
Oh my goodness...still fanning myself from all the love/hate build up these two (Meera & Rhys) did in this book. The heat alone makes this a number one read in my mind, but the story was perfectly done.

The Seeker is Sultry, Simmering, and...Funny?
Yes, it is funny.
Sarcastically so.
--TiffLovesBooks, Goodreads review
Fans of EH's Irin Chronicles series will LOVE Rhys and Meera's hot and steamy story.
--Rebel Soul, Amazon Reviewer
There is humor, challenge, frustration and really really REALLY good kissing scenes. Would I recommend this book - HELLS YESSSSSS.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2025I held off on reading this book because life had thrown me so many distractions. I am so glad I waited!! I really loved all the story lines and the new characters.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2018I am so happy that Rhys finally met his match and his reshon. I am so happy that he spoke loud enough to Elizabeth Hunter, that she just had to write his story. Lastly, I am happy that we had another exceptional book in the Irin Chronicles to feed our obsession.
This was another outstanding book from Elizabeth in this series. All the characters were so well done, and the world in which it takes place too. You just felt so much a part of this book, like you were actually a part of it. What more could you ask from a writer, there was everything you would expect from love and action, intrigue and and that pesky Vasu.
An outstanding example of written work. I wonder if Vasu will shout loud enough to get a book of his story...
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2019I read this book a while after reading the rest of the series and it was lovely to be reacquainted with the old characters and introduced to the new. The characters are engaging, the story is interesting and the pace felt appropriate to me. Rhys was one of my favorite characters and this was a fitting development of his story.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2018I absolutely adore Ms Hunter's books and The Seeker is all I could have hoped for. I'm not sure how she does it, but each character is so full and rich and....real. Relatable, as impossible as that would seem in this made up, fantastical world. Steamy, oh yes, funny, and touching, and showing with great empathy how people live with mental illness and post traumatic stress. And let's not forget the other star of the story, New Orleans. In less than two chapters you are there, experiencing first hand the sights, smells, noise, energy and history of this fascinating city. Last, but definitely not least, there is more Vasu, much to my delight. How wonderful it would be to have an entire book about him, but I doubt he would stand for it! I am mentally throwing roses at your feet, Elizabeth Hunter, well done and thank you for another wonderful story. Take your bow and please go write the next!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2020I loved Rhys and Meera's story. I was thrilled when I saw that he got his own book.
Rhys of Glast is sent to New Orleans to find the Wolf. He has doubts because no one has ever seen the legend before. Damien and Sari sent him to meet someone named Meets who supposedly knows how he can find the Wolf. But when he meets Meera, she avoids his questions and doesn't give him any straight answers. Not to mention that he's extremely attracted to the Irina.
Meera is a special Irina, she's the last memory keeper alive. She's Meera Bai, a legend. She left her fortress and is on an extended vacation in New Orleans. She's been a memory keeper before she could speak. Now she's the last one. Meeting Rhys, the attractive Irin was unexpected. Not knowing that her mother set it up was frustrating, realizing that he's her reshon, is absolutely scary. She's has everything in her life planned out, except this.
When grigori attacks increase in New Orleans, Vasu tells them that an archangel is planning an attack for more territory. Can the elusive Wolf help?
A must read!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2018The story takes place almost exclusively in the United States for a change which made for some interesting new reveals into local Irin history. Rhys and Meera are absolutely captivating starting out as research associates and then...don't want to write any spoilers but you'll enjoy discovering the journey, i promise. I will anxiously await the next book in this series (please let there be more!) and will probably not be able to set my Kindle down for long as I greedily read as long as I can get away with and still sleep, eat, and go to work. Elizabeth Hunter is one of my favorite authors not only for this series but the Elemental Series, the Cambio Springs Mysteries, Elemental Legacy, and it seems I've forgotten something more...just outstanding writing, original and intriguing characters and stories. I am a fan for life!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2018Another Five Super Amazing Stars for Book #7 in the Irin Chronicles Series. Rhys and Meera Bai's story was perfection in every way. Starting from the locations in New Orleans or the fortress in Udaipur. I was as captivated as when I was in Istanbul with Malachi and Ava in Book 1. I loved everything about the story. Just to name a few; that Rhys and Meera Bai were "reshons", their romantic yet spirited courtship, the clashing yet complement of their powers and personality,
and best of all . . . the final battle that sent a horrible archangel back to Heaven.
Meera Bai's staggering powers were indescribably magical and vast. And yet, she couldn't have accomplished it all without Rhys, her mate and "reshon," or without the others' support. One of my favorite scenes was when Rhys surrendered himself completely to horrors and let Meera wield her full powers! Dying to read the next book!
Here's one very personal OMG! I was stunned speechless when Meera said: "Shall I start reciting from Chomsky's Aspects of the Theory of Syntax?" I was thrown back into long forgotten lecture in class! Wow! Extra Five I-Couldn't-Believe-She-Mentioned-That Stars for this question alone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ach noo, the end of this great series came upon me too quickly!
Another great story, the tale of Rhys finding his Reshon all the way to the US from Istanbul.... Would have liked to see all the Istanbul scribes, their lives (and their new friends & theirs) back together for a final hurrah, are any more books coming or is that it now????
Well written, very few errors (which makes an amazing change from some of the content on Kindle Unlimited)
I read this book as part of my Kindle Unlimited subscription (free book but I have to pay £7.99 a month for the subscription)

5.0 out of 5 stars I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
What a terrific read. EH never fails to write an awesome book. For new readers, start at the beginning and read them all. I promise you will never be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
As always Elizabeth Hunter delivered. I loved Rhys' story and watching him find his reshon. I've loved him from the moment I met him and its great to see him win! It was nice to catch up with some of the other characters. Loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Each one better than the last!
I cannot believe the fabulous world-building, that is sustained novel after novel. I keep thinking that Elizabeth can't get any better, and then - I have new favourite characters - in this case, Rhys and Meera! However, all the other characters and so vivid and well drawn as well. And she is such a lyrical writer - I found myself bookmarking many of her 'poems' - the ones the Irin ink on each other. And my goodness, Elizabeth Hunter can write! What a relief to turn to one of hers, after lots of the other poorly written and edited books here on Kindle. Thank you Elizabeth, for a book that I really wanted to go on for much longer, and felt a bit lost when I'd finished it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Langweilig
