YA sci-fi fantasy. This is a well written series, but the final books contain a certain amount of violence and death. Parents should read the book first to see if their child is ready for these topics. It is emotional maturity rather than age which should be the deciding factor.

I have read all of the Time Hunter books and really enjoyed them. They are a mixture of time travel combined with a touch of "gifts" that attracted my interest. I am looking forward to more of this story plus Carl's new series he is working on.

It is hard for me to describe the story line other than to say that events in history are mentioned and sometimes "explained" in a different way. The characters are fighting evil and trying to make the world better. Also, there is a personal story line included about the children's parents.

This is the last book in the series. It nicely wraps out all the loose ends. Each of the 5 books is about the adventures of Becky, Joe, and Uncle Percy as they travel through time to get the five artifacts of mythology and stop the evil Emerson Drake. The golden fleece, Excalibur, the chalice, etc. Meet Jason and the Argonauts, the Merry men of Sherwood forest, Queen Nefertiti, and battle the kracken and many mythological creatures and historical people. The books weave real events, places, and myth together to create a world of time travel, honor and friendship. Truly a book for all ages. (I'm 69)

Read the first book as a free kindle read and was hooked. The characters are complex and likable (or hate-able as villains), and the stories introduce varied historical figures, myths, and legends. Would love the read more if/when available.

I love the time hunters series and have all the books. I think that this is the best one so far. So much happened evil is defeated and family reunited. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sci-fi, action or any type of book. The time hunters is a good blend of history, action and science. I loved this book and if you have read the other 4 books I would definitely recommend for you to get this one.

Phew, I have just finished the 5th - and last - story of Becky, Joe and Uncle Percy.
Now, I must explain that I am well over the age that these books are aimed at, but they are simply amazing. Five of the best children's books I've read in years.
The best thing about them is not just the incredible stories, but the way Carl Ashmore has integrated fact with fiction. I think that children will learn an immense amount of history by reading these books.
I think it was in Book 2 (maybe Book 3, sorry, I sometimes get a bit confused), where there was one of the best explanations of Hitler and the persecution of the Jews that I have ever read.
There are a couple of minor spelling mistakes, but they can be ignored.
I would recommend these books to anyone of any age who is prepared to let their minds go free and not be stuck in the "here and now".

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast-paced and thoroughly enjoyable

Since picking up book one as a freebee in 2011, I have been well and truly hooked on this series (I can remember finishing book 1 and looking hopefully for a sequel only to find I had to wait until later that year for book 2). Always a sucker for a four-legged character, I have adored being introduced to the likes of Gump, Peggy, Deidrie, Sabian and Co and was genuinely glad to read that none came to a sticky end (phew). The storylines have made me giggle and wince (sometimes even in the same line!) and all five books have been delightfully ‘unputdownable’. I shall miss this series but have thoroughly enjoyed all five books and have no difficulty in recommending this (and books 1-4) to anyone who likes to escape from reality with a well written, nicely paced, entertaining adventure for all ages.
