"A very well written story full of adventure, humour, wit, and action. It would definitely deserve to be made into a movie."
For fans of Uncharted, Outer Banks, and Indiana Jones
Page Turner Awards Finalist
BBNYA Semi-finalist
Fifteen-year-old Noah is shipped off to the Bahamas to spend time with a man he barely knows: his biological father Magnus.
His mother had always depicted Magnus as a penniless drifter so Noah is surprised to discover that he runs an archaeological consultancy from an amazing yacht equipped with military-grade security. Desperate to forge a bond with his father, Noah asks to be included in the consultancy’s next assignment – the search for a mysterious medieval ring.
Together with young uni drop-out Viggo and unrequited crush Isabelle, he follows the ring’s trail from Mexico to Sicily. But someone else is after it. Someone who will stop at nothing to lay his hands on it.
As Noah faces danger after danger to delve into the ring's mystery, he discovers the truth about his father. And it’s a revelation that will change his life forever.
**First in a series**
PRAISE FOR THE TWELFTH RING
“A great suspense mystery drama played out in the Bahamas. A cross between a Dirk Pitt and Indiana Jones adventure.”
“A seamless blend of adventure and comedy. Yet it is gripping you at every twist.”
“Great read. Compelling story, adventurous and fun! Looking forward to the next one.”
"This book is a fast-paced and fun young adult adventure story. The action begins when Noah is sent to spend the summer with his practically unknown father in the Caribbean. Magnus (his father) is a free-lance archaeologist, martial arts expert, and secret keeper. It’s a treasure hunt that travels the world. There is nothing overly complex. The villains are villains, through and through. Tales of the Crusades and the Knights Templar are scattered throughout. This book is clearly intended to be the first book of a series since some secrets remain and more adventures are likely. There is some violence, including torture. There is some flirtation and innuendo, but no sex. All in all, it is not inappropriate for teenaged readers. The pacing is brisk, and the pages turn quickly."

By Sam Clarke
This story held my interest from beginning to end. Mysteries, secrets, and adventures intrigued me. I was held in suspense. You'll read of the Templar Order, their rules, traditions, and oaths. Your heart will be touched by the loyalties of various characters under the most dangerous circumstances. The secret map and the search for The Twelfth Ring will keep you in suspense. The struggle to keep the ring from getting into the wrong hands will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. The remarks the younger characters make will keep you in stitches.
Some of the circumstances certain characters get themselves into are hilarious.
I applaud the author, Sam Clarke, for such an interesting, well-written story. Hopefully, I'll see this story at the movies someday.
I look forward to reading more of this author's work.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2018It took me a bit to get interested in Noah, but his adventure gradually picks up steam, and becomes a proper race by the end. I look forward to more Sam Clarke books. This is ideal for middle school age readers (10 to 13), but is enjoyable for older readers, as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous tale of action and adventure
I haven't read fiction like this for a very long time. It was a breath of fresh air! I laughed out loud at some things and was hooked on others.
The story itself is a tale about a boy whose mother sends him to his dad's place for six months. This means leaving England and heading to Nassau, living on a boat, having stolen kisses, guns, Russians, Sicily, Knights and adventure.
I loved the "painting fingernails with tipex" as that brought back my own teenage memories! Also the fact that the Knight of the Templar part becomes modern regarding Yoda.
I could go on.. but won't. This took me a longer time to read than my usual genre as the pace differed. I loved the faster-paced chapters with lots of action before the family-focused ones. That is strange for me and I think it is because I turned all Indiana Jones, whilst reading! My son will read this next, and I recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Ride
I enjoyed the heck out of this book. Although it's a YA title, we've all been fifteen before. We've all misconstrued our parents' actions, and fought with them till we walked away, furious, to sulk in our rooms, leaving our parents to wonder why they had children in the first place.
All of this sets up the drama in Sam Clarke's The Twelfth Ring. Young Noah Larsson doesn't really know his father at all, and doesn't like his mother. However, the chance to spend six months in the Bahamas with his dad whilst his mum flies off to Lebanon with Medecins Sans Frontiers does sound intriguing.
He's not so thrilled that he's in the company of a French girl his age who clearly disdains him, an ex-Israeli Special Forces tutor who tortures him with Krav Maga lessons and algebra and a factotum barely older than he is. Oh, and Russian criminals.
Turns out that the Russians are searching for the same Medieval ring that Noah's father is looking for. The Larsson party barely manages to stay half a step ahead of their adversaries as they travel halfway across the world, all the while never letting Noah's Mum know a thing. There's a reason for that.
That all turns out well, or reasonably so, is never guaranteed and events are nicely set up for a sequel, although the book can, and does, stand on its own feet. Highly recommended for adults as well as young adults, it's a fun ride from first paragraph to last.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting mystery!
I guess this book has been written with a YA audience in mind but despite my sixty plus years I loved the book. This is a fast moving mystery with an interesting collection of characters. The central character is a 15 year old boy but his father and his father's assorted employees / friends plus the villains make this an entertaining read for all ages. Despite growing up barely ever seeing his father, the son is sent to stay with him for six months when the mother's work takes her abroad. He is surprised to find his father lives on an amazing boat in the Bahamas. He is also obviously wealthy and has a decidedly unusual lifestyle. I could relate to the boy's 15 year old thoughts about girls and family but the book far transcends a typical coming of age story and is an action packed mystery full of suspense and twists. While their is plenty of action there is also quite a bit of humor which made me chuckle. At the heart of the plot is ..... Whoops I mustn't spoil the plot. Suffice to say it is a fascinating mystery at the heart of the story and the boy's family has many secrets. I eagerly await the next book in the series.
