The Unfaithful Wife: An Epistolary Narrative Kindle Edition

3.2 out of 5 stars 11 ratings

A guilt-ridden wife writes a touching letter to her husband.

Heavily burdened, her letter revealed her adulterous relationship with another man, detailing their moments together and the feelings he awakened in her. It also spoke of her grief and despair over her lover's death, suspecting that it was her husband who killed him because he knew all along about their relationship.

In the end, one question must be answered: Should she be scorned, or pitied?

I loved the depth of emotion the letter writer shared, and her confession of her feelings for her lover. It must have been hard to write those words to her husband. I only think the ending came a little too abruptly. This could easily have been a couple hundred words longer and would have been all the richer for it.

This book was not what I expected!

The opening pages gave me a good chuckle and I thought this book should really be called: Lies, Lies, and More Lies.

Yes. The unfaithful wife mentions at the start of her letter to her "dear Husband" that the relationship with the other man "just happened."

Ummmm, riiiiight. The cheating wife also poses the question:

“Do you know that when he first kissed me, I was thinking of you?”

▣ By this part of the story, I was convinced that the narrator was a lost cause and she would only continue to rant about how justifiable her cheating ways were, but she was hella entertaining, too! I could see why the husband kept her around because she had an answer for everything!

▣ How silly I was for thinking along those lines! Nevertheless, my favorite part of this story was the ending! Enjoyed!
