    I have long been a fan of L.J. Sellers books. This one is not a crime based story, but still has the character development, excitement and ability to through in a surprise twist I expect from the author. I could barely put it down before finishing.

    I agree wholeheartedly with the other positive reviews thus far. I can add that from the first few lines (what's going on here?) to the satisfying and original conclusion, I couldn't put this book down. I was afraid something would happen to the characters if I wasn't paying attention -- the immediate connection I felt to them and their dystopian circumstances became important to me (in fact, I find myself wondering what happened to them after the events of this book). L.J. balances the blending of action and internal character reflections without resorting to much exposition, which heightens the sense of mystery and entrapment and builds a sense of immediacy of the dangers. The plot moves along rapidly, but then I've come to expect that from L.J.'s mastery of the craft. I highly recommend this book!

    This is a wonderful book. LJ Sellers has never disappointed me. So many things I read hinted at what was to happen and what had happened. I got a little worried as I neared the end…afraid (and excited) that this was going to be a series because I just could not figure out how she could wrap up the book in the few pages left, but I didn't need to worry! She wrapped it all up and it was wonderful, and it did not feel rushed at all.

    You know you're in the hands of a fabulous author when they throw you into an unknown world with strangers and keep you informed enough to keep turning the page. LJ Sellers has crafted a frightening yet believable place and likeable characters to root for. Life in this dystopia is grim, but Jayla and Ronin strive for better, and had me completely invested in their journey. I highly recommend this story.

    Wow!! What a ride! As another reviewer stated I also thought this might become a series but then, BOOM there was a great ending! Had a little touch of "Hunger Games" to the story line in terms of the constraints placed on the characters by the ruling class. This was a gift to me and I loved the story!
