The Yes Factor Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 150 ratings

'A delightful, authentic and witty story! Chick Lit fans, do not miss this book.’ Devney Perry, USA Today Bestselling author

Liv just wants her best friend Bex to find love.

Bex just wants to stay in bed with Outlander.

With 40 right around the corner, divorced single mom Bex is too busy being a chauffeur for her teenage daughter to bother swiping for dates. Her best friend Liv, who is married to the supposedly perfect man, swoops in from London on a mission to get Bex out of her own bed and in to someone else's. Liv pushes Bex into a week-long whirlwind of dates, awkward kisses and missed connections.

What could possibly go wrong when Bex agrees to Liv's harebrained scheme of saying Yes to every possible suitor? And why is Liv so intent on fixing Bex's love life, or lack thereof?

Just what do you find out when all of your no's turn into The Yes Factor?

Review

'I adored this book! I love a getaway RomCom about friendship, self-discovery, and women who are always there for one another. ' Parker S. Huntington, Wall Street Journal Bestselling author

'A smart, witty, thoughtful redefinition and rediscovery of: love; dating; sisterhood; womanhood; and ultimately, and most powerfully...self.'
Kim Holden, author of The Other Side

'I absolutely devoured this book. This is a celebration of almost-40 year old women and what it means to navigate a changing yet stagnant world. I highly recommend this book (maybe with a glass or two of wine to perfect the atmosphere!).'
Lucy Kate, NetGalley

'Both of these women have such a fierce, tight knit friendship. Their banter is too funny and their love for each other, just makes you want to be part of their friendship.'
Brittany D., NetGalley

'The Yes Factor is a funny, sweet, and endearing take on dating, love, and friendship. You'll laugh and cry right along with Bex and Liv.' Patricia D. Eddy, author of On His Six

'I loved how real the friendship between Bex and Liv was throughout the story. Pick this one up for the beach or to have an LA escape in quarantine without leaving your couch!'
Elizabeth, NetGalley

Intriguing book on lifelong friendship and relationships
The Yes Factor was impossible to put down! It is a wonderful story about friendship, surviving relationships, and pushing for what is best for each other. It rings so true to the great friendships I have in my life. I want to buy a copy for all of my friends! Liv and Bex are the friends and sisters you always wanted. They step on each others toes, share lots of laughs, get in those silly fights that happen when someone knows you better than you know yourself, and they cry/hurt for each other. Life is full of twists and turns and the authors, Erin and Emma, capture it perfectly. I can't wait to find out what happens to Liv once she goes back to England.

Bex has been divorced for several years but has not ever really dated again. Liv is married but very unhappy. Liv decides she's going to take a last minute trip to visit Bex and help her get back into the dating pool. What follows is a series of terrible dates and a look at friendship that doesn't always go right.
Bex and Liv both have good back stories and are well written but the book really just ends. Not necessarily a cliffhanger but not really any wrap up for the characters. If there is a next book, I will pick it up.

Overall I liked the book. I think there was something missing in the storyline and other things seemed rushed but I love the friendship and hopefully it works out for both ladies. I also wish there was more steamy parts if you know what I mean. I will read the 2nd book.

This was such a fun book to read. I loved the friendship that Liv and Bex shared and that they could pick up where they left off. Everyone needs a friend like that and so many of us don't. Every time I thought I had their love lives figured out, there would be a twist and turn. Thankfully I feel like Bex got her HEA and I'm hoping for a follow up to find out what is next for Liv. I read this over the weekend and truly enjoyed every page. Lighthearted fiction that sticks with you.

This yes theory should be recommended to every negative soul out and about selling the "oh no" not me, not you, mustn't want too much...If I can't have it ... or you're greedy, selfish. Everyone needs more and have the right to go for it. Barb

I loved listening to this book on Audible. The friendship between the two main characters and their shenanigans together is endearing. Every Bex needs a Liv and vice versa. As an older woman I enjoyed getting some insight into the perils of modern dating apps and dating expectations that women my daughter’s age experience. I think this book and its (hopefully) sequel would make a fun modern movie! I highly recommend this book.

The Yes Factor is a fabulous read or long time friendships, being there for each other and give yes a try. I loved Liv and Bex. They have such a bond and have been through everything together. I love how Liv pushes Bex to date again. Not saying no makes for some giggling fun times. You feel the strong chemistry once Bex does find that connection. Your heart hurts for Liv and her marriage. You get why she showed up at Bex's and you just want to hug her. Liv puts on such a front once those walls fall you will love her even more. The Yes Factor is a book of friendship that you will not be able to put down. I want more Liv and Bex. I want to find out what happens to Liv once she goes back to England and I can't wait for it.

I loved the idea of the two lifelong friends and all their shared history. I appreciated that the backstory of their friendship that was told throughout the book! I also found it very relatable how they had come to grow apart more over recent years as their lives grew busier and they lived on separate continents. And I had some good laughs at the dating mishaps and the trouble they got them selves in to! ⁣

Unfortunately, I was left underwhelmed by the book. I would have liked for the characters to have been more developed and distinguished. I found the beginning to be a little confusing and wished there was more of an introduction and the reader was not just thrown in to it as much. I was also frustrated with Liv’s obsession on getting Bex back out there in the dating pool and her forcefulness in doing it... Honestly, if I were Bex I would have snapped at Liv early on! ⁣

I will say the last 20% was better to me, I just wished it hadn’t taken to almost the ending for me to get in to it. I have seen several other reviews that had different opinions than mine. So, if you were considering this book, I do hope you will still give it a chance... even though this one wasn’t for me, it may turn out to be your favorite of the year. ⁣

Thank you @valentine_pr_ for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.⁣

A heartfelt, fun and zippy read! Absolutely loved the friendship of Bex & Liv as they grappled with love & life choices as near 40-somethings. It's so refreshing that the main characters are a bit older than a lot of other romcom mc's. Loved this from start to finish -- did not want it to end!!
