She makes no apologies for writing stunning sex scenes that are never boring. Those are what her readers demand and she unashamedly continues to produce books that are real, gritty and full of genuine character.

    There's some quirkiness to this book, edging on paranormal at times, with the lead female character having unusual perception or intuitiveness.
    The lead male character was very down-to-earth, but I found his secrets annoying at times, they just weren't the big deal he made them out to be. Yes, personally, they were to him, but not if one looked at the big picture, or even compared situations.
    The fact the lead male character knew more about the female lead character's past, which was more more damaging than his own, made me a bit angry with him for not being completely truthful with her, once he knew as much as he did about her. It was an unequal balance in the relationship.
    The lead female character was a strong individual, who led life as she saw fit, unencumbered by the expectations of others as she kept her wildly popular fiction series from being connected to her.
    Each had to battle their own vulnerabilities, decide what or who was worth the risk.
    I'll be interested in reading the sequel.

    Usually even I don't care for a book, I'd still muddle through to the end. This book went from one extreme to another. It left me behind way early and no matter how I tried, I couldn't find a stream to carry me through. Very rarely have I left a book to empty it from my mind. It didn't help that three pages highlighted and I couldn't remove it. What a mess.

    If you read this book and like it, DO NOT read Book 2. unless you like when a story turns dark and ugly. Book 2 should be called 'How to take a good story and completely RUIN it'. I will be DELETING these books from my library. Spoiler alert: the old boyfriend is worse than he seems.
