Thrive: A Friends-to-Lovers Standalone Romance (Stonewood Billionaire Brothers Series) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 4,440 ratings

USA Today & Amazon Top 50 bestselling author Shain Rose delivers a sizzling friends-to-lovers standalone romance.

One kiss. One stolen moment.
It completely changed everything.

Mikka has worked hard in school, took all the right turns and landed a dream PA job to the hottest bachelor out there: Jay Stonewood.
He's charming, sweet, and has abs to drool over.
Not that any of it matters. Jay and Mikka are strictly best friends and colleagues. She has a great boyfriend that she absolutely loves even if he's not as nice as she makes him out to be.
Everything is fine. She's fine. Her life is perfect. If she says it enough, she'll believe it.

But then Jay and Mikka kiss. Sure, he was partying and probably doesn't remember coming on to her, but she does. And now she's been asked to fly back to Jay's small hometown to help him film a movie.

Her and Jay in close proximity for a whole month: it should be easy. But...that kiss.
She can't forget it.
It's the bump in the road that could have them veering way off track.
Because, although Mikka can plan just about anything, she can't tell whether her and Jay are barreling toward love...or disaster.

I have been waiting for Thrive since author Shain announced it Author Shain did not disappoint me as usual Jay and Mikka’s story totally owned my heart I still admire the author’s style, the way she narrated, and her knowledge of what she wanted to write Thrive is one of the best books for 2020 The story is fascinating and interesting The relationship between the hero and the heroine in the story was everything to me 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐞.

Loved this friends-to-lovers romance that brought all the feels! I couldn’t put this one down, so invested to this addicting romance.

After being his personal assistant for years, and in a relationship with another that has seen better days, all it takes is a drunken, heated kiss to know that he’s the one for her. But knowing his history with commitment and his partying ways she worries that he could break her heart and ruin her career if she isn’t good enough for him?

Hold on tight to your seat because this Hollywood heartthrob has had the hots for her since he met her! These two have a lot to work through if they can just agree that they both want the same thing, each other!

These two are “Fire” together, their chemistry jumps off the page, the banter, the push and pull, will leave you smiling and swooning as they heat up their nights and your heart! Loved getting glimpses of the other couples in this series as well!

I ALWAYS love Shain Rose's books because she writes characters in a way that you're so attached to them you're vibrating with anxiety through her entire story. This one in particular, hit eerily close to home for me. My past is very similar to Mikka's and it really is such a jarring beautiful experience to have someone cherish you in a healthy way. I absolutely loved this one and it will definitely end up on my favorites list.

Let’s talk about what the synopsis doesn’t tell you (you find out shortly into the book): Our two main characters are Mikka and Jay. Mikka has a boyfriend that treats her like crap. Jay has a drug addiction. When the kiss happens, Mikka has said boyfriend, and Jay is deep into his addiction. Because of Jay’s addiction and recovery, Mikka has to stay with Jay in his hometown to make sure he doesn’t relapse as well as to give herself space from her abusive boyfriend.

I feel like all of that information is pretty important as the addiction and abusive relationship are the two main plot points aside from the romance. Since they are big points, there are some descriptive scenes as well as thoughts about both topics which could be triggering to some readers so I think it’s important to know that going in.

I read this book without reading the first two books in the Stonewood Brothers series and I don’t think it took away from anything. Actually, it kind of made me want to read the other stories because they seem more alpha and protective.

Overall I thought it was a pretty good book, I liked the journey the characters took separately as well as together. I do feel like we get more in-depth details about Mikkas problem and not to say the journey wasn’t difficult for Jay but it didn’t seem like a ton of importance was put on how difficult recovery is for addicts. While they both pushed each other, they both had to take independent journeys and work through their own thoughts.

I really liked the small-town vibes of this book, it honestly reminded me of my own town especially when they go to the fair. Mikka, the poor girl, was definitely out of her Cali element.

While the story was heavy with different elements, I think what brought down the rating for me was Mikkas indecisiveness. While she is strong for Jay, she doesn’t feel the same way about herself. She goes back and forth with her feelings almost the entire book and it kinda drives me nuts.

One little pet peeve of mine is when a man calls a women, women. It almost feels condescending. Jay did this a ton. I didn’t count but it was enough to start to agitate me.

Anyways, I thought the book was good besides those couple points I mentioned. I’d definitely be willing to read from this author again!

Jay Stonewood is the youngest brother and he has always been the one to keep the peace at home. He's been the best friend to Aubrey for years. When her abusive father tried to kill both her and her mother, his older brother rushed in and saved Aubrey. Her mother didn't make it. But they have always been there for one another.

Now Jay is an up and coming actor living in Los Angeles. His PA for years is Mikka. A beautiful woman of Asian decent. Jay has only kept his distance because she has a boyfriend. Now Jay is being called out for all his partying ways. Mikka has saved him one too many times. Now forced into rehab he comes to realize he's been lying to himself. He needs Mikka's help and love to get him through it all. He also has to be there for her, as he learns her truth.

I love this family! So many twists and turns! Keeps things interesting! Ready for the bad Boys of town. Bring on Bastian and Cory! Enjoy

I read majority of this series of the other brothers and Brey’s best friend. I didn’t have much to complain about. I read this was last and I read a lot of books before I went back to this one because of how Jay was described in other books I wasn’t sure how I Jay would find love. The girl he fell far made sense but my only complaint was the ending. I felt it was too rushed and didn’t leave much to their story after it ending compared to his brother’s. I loved the Stonewood brothers and I even loved Jay after all. Next time just give me a better ending and not the end pretty much.

Falling in love with your best friend is honestly a story I know too well. It's always nice to read about fictional struggles because real life one's can be just as daunting. Mikka and Jay are adorable and if one character stole the show...Lorraine's story must be told!

I’m so glad I got to read this book. It was my first read by the author and although it is the 3rd book in the series. It is a standalone and just flowed really well. It’s definitely made me want to read the first 2 books about Jax and Jett. Especially Jett.

This was an amazing contemporary romance with a twist. Such a different take on small town romance and I’ve not read a love story like this. It was intriguing and heart felt. Definitely emotional related and really touched on important topics like abuse and addiction really well. I think the author did an amazing job and loved her writing style. I’ll definitely continue to read from this author especially her first two books.

The author made this book very deep. As in the connection the couple had. I love friends to lover due to how deep it can be and feel for the couple and I felt that as a reader. Especially with the complications these two characters went through. Together and alone. I also loved that it was heavily based around there jobs and focused more on the couple and them battling their issues. This book was about healing and I really loved how it made me feel. I loved Mikka and her personality. How organised she was and how head strong she was. Jay and her definitely complimented each other well.

I highly recommend this book. It was sweet and heart felt. Easy to read and overall a really good book!

Everyone knows Jay Stonewood life and soul of the party. But what happens when the partying gets out of hand and his biggest movie role is put in jeopardy????Rehab it is
Mekka is there to sort it all out Jay's PA the woman who keeps everything ticking even when it's falling apart.

But 1 night 1 kiss changes everything for this couple. The butterfly effect of that 1 kiss affects every part of their lives.

The connection between Mikka and Jay is amazing they both needed each other more than they knew.

Another amazing story from the wonderful Shain Rose.
The Stonewood brothers have my heart 🖤🖤🖤
