Throne of Blood (Fire Fae Book 3) Kindle Edition
If she stays beneath the dome, she’ll be executed for a crime she didn’t commit. But fleeing means that the people she leaves behind will inherit her fate.
WARNING: Spoilers for Throne of Winter and Throne of Fire
The Freelands is a dangerous frozen landscape where fae and shifters roam free. The Dresden clan rules as the first family, and they’re leading an uprising to overthrow the casters who've wielded more than their share of power for far too long. As a wanted murderess, Brie isn't surprised to learn the Dresden patriarch is anxious to keep her close and make her a symbol of his revolution. But a powerful dark force has other plans for Brie.
Beneath the Los Angeles dome, tensions are high. The royal casters are desperate to stomp out the flickers of rebellion before they are caught up in the inferno. As a young king, Kai's opinion always held little sway with his fellow monarchs. He has even less now, since the woman he loves has branded a traitor. When he receives a startling invitation from outside the dome, Kai risks his life and his kingdom for the chance to help both his subjects and the woman he hopes will one day be their queen.

About the author

USA Today Bestselling Author of over 30 books in six series, Sophie Davis is a pseudonym for best friends turned bestselling co-authors. The pair met in law school and instantly bonded over their love of great books and bad horror movies. After they graduated, when one longed for the ability to read minds so she wouldn't have to study for the bar exam, they co-authored the Talented Saga, a bestselling dystopian series about mind-reading assassins that was optioned for film or television.
Their current project is the Eve of Eternals world, a multi-series Urban Fantasy universe where they write about Vampires, Wolf Shifters, and Fae in a saga of reincarnating soulmates.
The duo lives in California, spending all their time outside in the sunshine while creating wild new worlds with characters who will stay with you long after the last page. The Sophie Davis team is rounded out with two rescue dogs- ineffectual assistants with frequent social media appearances as they battle keyboards for attention.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis third book in the series really amped up in intensity with exciting action and unexpected plot twists. The one downside is that there was a notable increase in grammatical errors.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2019Format: KindleI felt this book was more informative and filled with character development and I believe that's why I had a hard time keeping an interest in the story. You start right where the last book left off, so no worries about missing anything. This book got 4 stars from me because I did not see that ending coming. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long before the next installment because I feel like this cliff hanger grabbed me more than the last book.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseOMG!! I loved this book! We learned so much more about Brie and her family which was really shocking. There were so many twists in the book that I wasn't expecting. I can't wait for the next book!!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI love all of Sophie Davis’ books/series. This one is especially riveting. Each time I finish one of the books, I cannot wait for the next one. Do yourself a favor and read the series!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 27, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really enjoyed reading Throne of Blood I think the Dark Court: The Fire Fae series. I hope the next book is released soon.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2019Format: KindleStupendous, etc., etc. I can't find enough superlatives to describe this book. I only wish that I had more time to read, like, in life, so that I could have read this closer to all in one sitting, rather than over two weeks. I will have to go back and re-read, because THAT MUCH happened, and there were so many amazing twists and turns. If you can't tell, I loved this book, and agree with the Sophies that it is one of the best they have written! Kai and Brie are my new favorite couple in the Sophie-verse, beating even Talia and Erik (although, if you haven't read the Talented series, go do that, too)! I agree with other reviewers that the ENDING is.... a lot. I have to unpack my feelings about the ending but think, for now, that I will just have to wait and see how it will play out in the epic conclusion. I don't want to give too many specifics and give things away, but Brie meets a lot of people from her past in this book, continues to struggle with her health, and vampires play a much larger role in this book than in the others. I find it interesting that vampires in Sophie-land have historically been kind of the bottom feeders, but could that be changing? At any rate, highly recommend this book. Note: I did receive an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAll the stars given this time are for story creativity and the characters I love. The typos/missing words start in the opening and are spattered through enough that is was distracting. Were they in the first two parts? I didn't notice, I guess that means I was less engaged in this one. Maybe because I was still annoyed the last one ended abruptly before ending, leaving an unsatisfied feeling. Maybe because it dragged in so many places. Or maybe because there were just so many typos. In this part you lose sympathy for the rebels, you didn't have it for casters, and you really haven't spent enough time with vamps to care one way or the other about them, so there was pretty much a handful of people to cheer for but no side you wanted to win. I did really enjoy Kai's tributes. And the twist with Brie was really a surprise. The biggest surprise was at the almost end. I say almost because as with the last book this ones just stops... mid-story even worse mid-scene! So I guess I'll have to read the last part because this wasn't a whole book either. Authors really need to get a grasp on the difference between series parts and serial parts. If you've sliced a story it isn't a series and these aren't books. They are serials. It's dishonest to call them books in a series. Be honest so we know going in.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2019Format: KindleI’m at a loss for words, but I loved this latest installment. My heart aches from the plot twists the Sophies threw at us in this book. I’m dying to know what happens next. The state of my heart depends on it!! That ending! Omg I can’t get over it!! Please buy this now so I can share all these feelings with someone :-)
For the first time, I did not predict any of the events that occurred in this book. I read it all in one day and it was worth every second. I did love having a little more of Tanner’s story, and I am still wondering if there is still more of his story to come.
I was so happy to meet the new characters and I can’t wait to see who end up being the true villains. I have no idea who to trust since they all seem to have ulterior motives. The Sophies have all the power in this next book. I can’t imagine where they will take this story next. I just know it will be one hell of a ride, and I can’t freaking wait for it!!!!!
I received a copy and volunteered to review it.
