The Ticklemore Tavern: an uplifting, heart-warming, romantic read Kindle Edition
The Ticklemore Tavern is a sweet, heart-warming story that really pulls you in. It’s a happy, feel-good read with plenty of inner turmoil and conflict to keep you turning the pages. (Just 4 My Books)
Violet makes her own gin.
Logan Cassidy sells it in his pub, the Ticklemore Tavern.
It should have been a match made in heaven, especially since the pair of them fancy the socks off each other, and they are both young, free and single.
Except...
Logan’s mum, Marie, doesn’t think Violet is good enough for her son. No woman is, or ever will be. And when she becomes ill, Logan is torn between looking after his mum or following his heart.
However, neither Logan, nor Marie, has taken the sheer force of nature that is Violet into account. What Violet wants, Violet gets.
Usually...
But maybe not this time, eh?
**This is the fourth book in the Ticklemore series, but you don’t have to have read the others to fall in love with this one!**
What readers are saying about The Ticklemore Tavern
I adored everything about the story, the wonderful and varied range of gins mentioned, the characters some of the food mentions and of course the story of Violet and Logan. This is a wonderful story about friendship, gin and getting on in life.
(Yvonne - Me and My Books)
Liz Davies writes beautifully and empathetically and her portrayal of Logan’s Mother, Marie was another example of her superlative, intelligent writing. (Eatwell Reads-Well)
Deeply moving in the hard parts yet warm and fun overall, The Ticklemore Tavern won me over... thanks to Liz Davies’ excellent character creation and worldbuilding skills. (Just Katherine)
The Ticklemore Tavern is funny in many places. It mixes sad moments with lovely happy ones that had me feeling all the emotions by the end. It’s a warm, heartfelt, endearing story that is a perfect escape (Novel Kicks)

About the author

Liz Davies writes feel-good, light-hearted stories with a hefty dose of romance, a smattering of humour, and a great deal of love.
She lives on a Welsh mountain with her very patient husband and incredibly sweet dog, where she grows veggies (if the slugs don't get them), bakes (badly) and loves making things out of glitter and glue (a mess, usually). She's been an avid reader ever since she got her hands on a copy of Noddy Goes to Toytown when she was five, and she once tried to read everything in her local library starting with A and working her way through the alphabet. She loves long, hot summer days in the garden, and cold winter ones snuggled in front of the fire, but whatever the weather she's usually writing or thinking about writing, with heartwarming romance and happy-ever-after always on her mind.
She also writes romantic fiction as Lilac Mills

- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is the fourth of the Ticklemore series and Liz Davies does not disappoint. Absolutely loved the characters (old and new) and enjoyed seeing other characters from the Ticklemore books. It felt as if I was right there through everything and oftentimes I wanted to smack Marie. Glad to see Hattie take charge once again and provide some humor. I am hoping for a new Ticklemore book coming soon!! Pretty please??

Characters
Violet is a vivacious woman who goes after what she wants and always gets it. She has her own gin distillery where she creates unique flavours and has a passion for making her gin a success.
Logan runs his own tavern in Ticklemore with the help of his mum. He’s extremely close to his ailing mother who needs a lot of care and management.
Storyline
Violet goes to Ticklemore Tavern to sell her gin and finds immediate attraction with the tavern owner, Logan. As they begin to date, Logan’s mothers health declines and it becomes difficult for them to be together.
Overall Thoughts
I really enjoyed reading this and often found myself chuckling along with Violet’s and Logan’s flirting. While I hated a particular character, that was exactly how I was meant to feel about them.
When the character that’s meant to be bad is so well written you hate them more and more the more you read. You know the author has captured them perfectly.
For a feel good, enjoyable romance that you can just chuckle along with and hate on the bad character, this is a really fun read!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2021Format: PaperbackWe’re back in Ticklemore once again. This time the tale is centered around The Ticklemore Tavern. Violet makes gin, lovely botanical flavored gin. Logan owns the local tavern. It should be a match made in Heaven.
However, Marie, Logan’s widowed mother, is on the warpath when talk of love winds it’s way around the Ticklemore gossip grapevine.
Although this is the fourth book in the Ticklemore series, it works well as a stand-alone tale. The characters are easy to connect with and it’s always great to have friends from previous books popping in to say hello. It wouldn’t be a Ticklemore story without some Hattie shenanigans.
I enjoyed the lessons in making organic gin and the behinds the scenes working of a pub bar and grill.
The dynamic between family, friends, employees, and townspeople highlight the relationships so important to the story.
I’m going with 4-Stars today. This is a solid entry in the series. It has humor, love at first sight, relationships, and more to keep you turning the pages.
I received a copy of the book for a book tour. His is my honest opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars lovely
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is the third in a row book of this series. Probably not quite as good as the other two but it’s still a very good read

3.0 out of 5 stars MOSTLY ENJOYABLE READING BUT ENDING WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI enjoyed most of the reading as feelgood material and could identify with some of the characters. However toward the end Violet's tolerance and forgiving of that awful selfish mother was too good to be true - as was the communities in offering to involve her (maybe I am a bit biased by my own life experience)
I could not accept the mother's behaviour as inspired by love of her son (well done for the portrayal of her as a debious spiteful hateful woman)
