Tie Me Down: A Small Town Friends to Lovers Romance (Bellamy Creek Series Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 10,633 ratings

Just friends.

That’s all Beckett Weaver and I have ever been.

Sure, he’s a hot cowboy who left Wall Street behind to take over his family’s ranch. Yes, I’ve had a secret crush on him since we were seventeen. And who wouldn’t appreciate those strong hands, that massive chest, and the way he fills out a pair of Levis? He makes a girl sweat just looking at him . . . and I look.

A lot.

But I’m a single mom trying to move on with my life, and he’s running that ranch single-handedly while taking care of his elderly father. We don’t even live in the same state. I only returned to my hometown of Bellamy Creek to sell my late mother’s house, and he just invited me and my son to stay with him because he’s got a big heart.

That’s not the only big thing he’s got--which I discover the night I finally sneak across the hall to his bedroom and shed my inhibitions right alongside my pajamas. And once we give into each other, we can’t stop.

The hayloft. The bed of his truck. The dock by the pond.

Nothing has ever felt so right, but his past has taught him not to believe in happily ever after, and every perfect night I spend in his arms brings us closer to goodbye.

Like any cowboy, he’s good with a rope and knows exactly how to tie me up.

But what if I want him to tie me down?

From the Author

When Beckett reached the landing, he headed for his bedroom.
"Night."
I opened my mouth to say goodnight--I swear I did.
But that's not what came out.
"I need to tell you something," I blurted.
He turned and faced me.
"I want to answer your question." My heart raced, and my fingers locked over my stomach.
"What question?"
"You asked me--last night--why I always chose jerks."
"You said you didn't know."
"I lied. I do know."
He was silent a moment. "So tell me."
I took a step toward him. "I chose jerks because they didn't ask anything of me. They didn't expect anything of me. They didn't even want much from me--just skin."
Beckett took a deep breath, his chest expanding.
"That's why I couldn't be with you," I whispered.
"Because you think I would have expected perfection?"
"Because you would have deserved it."
He exhaled and shook his head. "You're wrong."
"I'm sorry. This is stupid." I squeezed my eyes shut a moment. "I don't even know why I'm telling you this right now. It's not like I can go back and do things differently. I guess I just wish I would have been brave enough to tell you the truth back then."
"What's the truth?"
"That I wish I could have been yours. I know you would have been good to me."
He said nothing for ten full seconds, during which my heart banged painfully against my ribs and I regretted everything.
"Listen, forget I said anything," I said quickly. "I don't know what Blair puts in that apple pie, but--"
"I have something to tell you too."
I swallowed. "You do?"
"Yeah. Several things, actually." He moved closer to me, so close I could feel his breath on my lips. "First, I'm glad you finally answered my question. It's been bothering me for fifteen years. Second, you're right. I would have been good to you. And third, no--we can't go back and do things differently. The past is past."
"Yes. Well, goodnight." Tears of mortification burning my eyes, I spun away from him, but he grabbed my arm.
"But there's one more thing."
"What?" I whispered.
"I sleep with my bedroom door open. But I want you to think hard before you take advantage of that. Because I'm not eighteen anymore, and I'm no longer in the mood to be a gentleman."
Then he let go of my arm and disappeared across the hall.
With my legs trembling, I slipped into my room, shut the door and leaned back against it, fanning my face.
Holy. Cow.
He'd left it up to me.
But his invitation was clear. I hadn't imagined it.
And before I thought about it too hard and blew my chance to be with him, I raced into the bathroom, pulled my braids out, and brushed my teeth. Back in my bedroom, I whipped off my clothes and pulled on the pineapple-print tank and matching shorts I'd brought to sleep in. Not exactly my sexiest lingerie, but in my defense, seduction hadn't been on my to-do list when I'd packed my bags.
Then I took a deep breath, opened my door, and snuck across the hall.

Books like this remind me why I love romance so much!

Books like this remind me why I love romance so much!
First, I have to say that it was the most emotional of all 4. Since we do have a fair and satisfying closure for all 4 couples, we get to see them all having their happy ending as couples and as the amazing group of friends they are. We get to understand the depth and true meaning of the friendship between Griffin, Cole, Enzo and Beckett, and how their relationship is really the foundation of each of the love stories in the series. That alone brought tears to my eyes. About Beckett and Maddie, I can’t even write how beautiful this romance was. It was funny, emotional and super sexy! Maddie is the best mom. Melanie nails the single parent trope, she smashes toxic masculinity through Maddie and her son Elliot. I love how she instantly felt at home and made Beckett’s family her own from the jump. The way she took care of Beckett’s dad and wanted to be part of their lives was so sweet. She was strong, free and had a huge heart! Beckett was the perfect book boyfriend! He was a gentleman, so concerned about everyone’s safety, wanting to do the right thing. He had the biggest sense of responsibility and wanted to make Maddie and Elliot feel safe and cared for. I swooned hard with his shy demeanor and honest feelings towards Maddie. I loved seeing them getting together after learning their backstory. They crumbled each other’s walls, learned together how to be brave and give love a chance. The steam was super hot as it was emotional! I love it when the couple had loved each other for so long and they experience a stronger connection than they thought they would have. They fit together as a family from the start and developed a beautiful relationship that not even their doubts and fears could teat apart. This book can be read as a standalone, but I can assure you, if you’ve read the first three and are as obsessed with it as I am, this book will be perfection to you, in all sense of the meaning! Melanie Harlow crowned this series with this book and I will re-read it all in the future. Do yourself a favor and read it, you won’t regret it!

It’s a bittersweet goodbye – I’m sad to see this group of guy friends go, because every book in this series has been great. This is my least favorite of the four, but the bar is set VERY high, so I can’t be too upset about that. I love how each book had its own vibe, yet there are so many commonalities that tie everything together. This childhood friends to lovers romance features a sexy and stubborn hero who just can’t seem to get his head out of his… you know. It’s STEAMY and angsty with some heartfelt moments, but I can’t help feeling that the lust and longing overshadowed the emotional connection. I still loved a significant amount of it, but this one is missing the swoons for me.

The story follows Beckett, the final single guy in his group of friends. While he’s happy that his buddies have found lasting love, he doesn’t believe that the odds are in his favor to find that for himself. Beckett’s father is battling dementia and his health is failing, so it’s not like he’s got time to date anyways. But when Beckett’s high school crush and longtime friend, Maddie, comes to stay at the family home, it’s like no time has passed at all. Turns out, Beckett still has the same feelings for Maddie that his teenage self did, but now he’s got the confidence to do something about it. As the two tentatively cross the line from friends to lovers, Maddie’s temporary status in town is a constant reminder that nothing lasts forever.

I loved how everything came full circle in this, and the story centers on permanent connections, found families, and letting love in. I just wish it was executed in a less frustrating way, lol. There’s a LOT of time spent on why these two don’t have a future, and not enough focus on why they SHOULD. The story relies heavily on Beckett and Maddie’s history (from 15 years ago) and their sexual chemistry, but there aren’t a lot of romantic moments. I really needed more of that present day emotional connection, and that’s where this is lacking for me. I still loved the sizzling scenes, the tension, and the connection between Maddie/Beckett’s dad and Beckett/Maddie’s son – plus the bond between the four heroes of this series. There’s a lot to love about this steamy romance, but it didn’t resonate with me in the same way that the previous three books did. I’m sad to say goodbye to Bellamy Creek, but looking forward to whatever’s next. I received an early copy (then purchased it for my collection), and am voluntarily leaving a review of this friends to lovers romance.

Knowing this is the final book in the Bellamy Creek series, I took my time and read it slowly. That is until I got toward the end and had to find out how Beckett was going to save himself!!! This book was amazing!!! I loved Beckett, even though I wanted to slap him around a few times to get his head out of his butt! And Maddie was just a wonderful heroine. She's been through so much in her life and has handled it with grace. But my favorite character in this book was Elliott!!!! He's Maddie's 6 year old son who is unique and a breath of fresh air!!! And I was so proud of Maddie for the way she was raising him!
Anyway, Beckett has been in love with Maddie pretty much all his life. But he's never told her how he felt, always letting her walk away. She comes back home to take care of her mother's house after her death. Since her mother's house is uninhabitable he offers his house for her and her son to stay while they're in town. I think we can all figure out where this leads!! And it was HOT!!!!!
Maddie comes back home to take care of her mother's house after her death and Maddie's divorce. She's a little on the broken side but she's holding herself together. Her ex cheated on her and really didn't hide it. He also doesn't tolerate their son very well because he's not a typical boy. This man is such a jerk!!! She has been attracted to Beckett about as long as he's been attracted to her. But, of course, she never said anything.
My absolute favorite characters were Elliott and Mr Weaver!!! Elliott is just a precious 6 year old boy that just wants to be accepted. He likes boy and girl things and doesn't understand why some people judge him so harshly, especially his father. I love that Maddie is raising him to just be himself and doesn't try to make him fit into a mold to please others. I was so proud of Beckett and all of Bellamy Creek for just accepting Elliott for the great kid he is! Mr Weaver is Beckett's dad who is dealing with dementia. He can't take care of himself completely and is living with Beckett. His long term memory is great but his short term memory is suffering. But the scenes with him and Elliott or Maddie were priceless!
It was wonderful to visit all of the residents of Bellamy Creek again!! Griffin, Blair, Cole, Cheyanne, Enzo, Bianca, and all the parents!!! And we got to go to Cole and Chey's wedding!!! I'm going to miss these people, as much as if they were real!!
The epilogue was amazing!! It was wonderful to see them come full circle from the prologue!! And the bonus scene on Melanie's website was incredible!!!! It tied everything up into a nice little bow and made my heart sing!!!
I loved all the books in this series and highly recommend them to anyone who enjoys a good romance!!!! Going to miss these 4 best friends and their families!!!

From Griffin, Cole, Enzo and now Beckett Weaver. Beckett grew up with his dad and two sisters in Bellamy Creek after his mother left when he was young. Reviewed in Canada on June 5, 2021
This was such a beautiful friends to lovers romance. It was so believable. The pieces of the story just fit together exactly how they were supposed to. I absolutely love Beckett. His quiet strength and way he observes rather then engages is so endearing. His strength and love come from a deep part of who he is. It is something he struggles with because of his past yet nurtured because of the way his sisters and dad raised him. He is loyal and kind and so very empathetic. The way he has loved Maddie from afar is to be commended because he also remained such a trustworthy friend throughout the years never loosing touch. Maddie is just so perfect for Beck. Her life certainly wasn’t what she had anticipated however her decisions sat completely in the way she was raised and how she thought her life was supposed to be. Her failed marriage was the last straw for Maddie. Beck was the one piece of her life that was constant and she loved everything about who they were and internally longed for more. When these two were in a position to grow their relationship it wasn’t drama that held them back it a true fear of the destruction of a relationship they had that they both needed to move forward. The one piece that was so respectfully written was the relationship of Beck with Elliot. What a beautiful boy who was being raised by a mom who accepted him for all of his choices and allowed him the freedom to explore who he was and loved him unconditionally. Reading how Beck accepted that as well as the rest of the family without a blink of an eye was uplifting. It is a piece of this story that just fit and gave a sense of how deeply these characters were accepting, kind and empathetic. Showing that the underlying foundation of their family was kindness and love above all else. This was a beautifully written love story that had an underlying chemistry and heat that for the relationship perfectly. These two were hot together but built on such a beautiful foundation is was sexy as hell. I loved them together so much! I am sad the series is over but absolutely loved each and every story that connected this group of friends. Connecting the other characters was just an added bonus. This has to be one of my favourite reads this year. A must read hands down ❤️

Loved this book. Last in the series , Beckett and Maddie. Beckett does not believe in forever. Growing up without a parent can leave you jaded. Beckett has to work out is love worth the risk , or is it better to stay friends. Can his life long friends make him see that love is worth the risk.

I disliked the book as soon as Maddie’s pov started. First thing I disliked is the part about not wanting child support and her spiel on it sounding condescending towards those who take it. It’s made a law for a reason. Followed by pushing of her ideology. Came here to read a romantic book not get bombarded with the author’s opinions and thoughts. If needed I would have chosen a fiction.
