I was given this novel in exchange for a honest review so here it is....This book was amazing..I couldn't put it down for a moment. The story line was strong catching everything from past and present that needed to be said to enhance the story. The main characters were well developed and believable. Sam and Henry were colleagues at the University and with their jobs they went on research trips sometimes together, but most of the time separate. They fell in love, got married, and had everything anyone would want in life. When Henry was ready to go on another trip, Sam wanted to make sure he was in one of the exit seats in case something happened with the plane. Little did they both know the worst was yet to come. The plane crashed and most of the people onboard die. Four of the survivors, including a child, made it to a nearby island starting a whole new life together. Hoping they would be rescued soon, they worked together to ensure their survival would last in case this was long term. The child, Buddy, who had latched onto Henry from the very start, had changed so much for Henry. He loved this child and vowed he would try to adopt him when this was all over. Buddy's parents had been killed in the crash, so Buddy only knew Henry as his dada. All Henry could think about was his husband, Sam, and what he must be going through thinking he was dead. Sam had a difficult time accepting Henry's death. With much therapy it took him over 3 years to come to grips with everything and move on. He meets a nurse, Nash, and they fell in love, Sam asking Nash to marry him. When Sam and Henry were together they promised each other they would not continue to grieve if something happened and they would move on with their lives to be happy. Easier said than done, but Sam finally found happiness with Nash. Sam had always loved Henry and always would. The two lives are played out in the book with so much emotion. Then the unimaginable happened and the four on the island were rescued..Life changed in an instant, including Sam who was to be married in 3 weeks. A big decision had to be made. Who would Sam choose....Henry or Nash....This was an extreme emotional roller coaster ride. I was riveted to the book and couldn't put it down. Held my attention throughout. Love the story and the characters. A great story which will fill your heart with love and hope. Highly recommend this one.

This was my first time reading this author so I didn't know what to expect. Although it was a little pricey I absolutely loved this book

I stayed up late wanting to finish this book and I love it when I find a book that keeps me that interested. It's a rare thing.

Henry thought about Sam every day for 5 long years and after a few years he had the added worry of thinking that Sam could have moved on and possibly remarried. Meanwhile Sam lived in denial of Henry's death for several months until he was forced to accept that Henry had died. His grief never went away, but he had to force himself to start living his life like he had once promised Henry he would do if anything happened to him.
I was glad that there was minimum time spent on Sam's eventual relationship with Nash and I thought Henry handled it as well as could be expected. I was really happy that Sam's love and support for Henry wasn't ever really in question and even though he did love Nash (poor Nash), Henry was Sam's true love.

Only one thing bugged me about being stranded on this tiny island. They started a fire each night to cook one meal, but it's really really hard to start a fire without matches or other similar source. It wasn't a big deal for me but every time there was a mention of a fire I wondered about it.

This was a cute lighthearted story that had me staying up to read the next chapter and had me telling my Husband I was happy he wasn’t trapped on an island. At the start of each chapter is a flash back between Henry and Sam, how they met, fell in love. After that the chapter goes into the story of Henry trying to survive on the island with the island. There are some mishaps but for the most part it’s a ‘lighthearted’ survival. They have lots of food/water so they have a decent life trapped there for all those years. When Sam learns that Henry is alive he’s already engaged to be married so he’s stuck in a bad situation, which is probably the most compelling in the story. I always felt really bad for him. Again if you looking for something super dramatic this probably isn’t the book. Also I usually skip prologues, but it was short so gave it a try. For some reason it really didn’t like it. The writing in the rest of the story is fine, but that prologue really threw me off. So don’t judge it just on that. It’s a cute, fun read.

What do you do if you believe you found your one true love only to lose him but by a miracle find out he's alive? What if there's someone else that you also love?

This is the crux of the question in this romance.

Addison Albright has written a compelling love story that I couldn't put down from the moment I downloaded the book at lunch until I finished close to midnight. The characters of Henry and Sam are extremely likable, and Buddy, a child thrust into Henry's life, is a beautiful soul.

Defiantly this is a five star story. Definitely highly recommend for reading.

This book wasn't bad. The premise was so promising, but the writing wasn't fantastic and I felt like a lot of the emotions were either left out or rushed over. Sam and Nash's blow up at the end and then Henry and Sam's reunification seemed to happen too quickly with little explanation on how we got there. I liked it well enough, but it could have been better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soo fantastic

I have been in a serious book slump for a while now. However this was just the puck me up I needed. I cried so many times I lost count..the flashbacks were so perfectly done and you really build up to the moment when Sam finds out Henry is still alive…you feel their connection and live even if they spend more than half the book apart. As for Buddy he absolutely stole my heart. He and Henry were so adorable and totally the icing on this book. I’m going to give 4.75 🌟 because I do feel the author could have pushed just that bit harder with the final chapters and building on Henry & Buddy’s life on their return. The end chapters felt a bit rushed & not as carefully developed as the first half. All in all though a perfect read to get me out of my slump

This author is new to me and I was wary, simply because these desert island book can be really limp or over-dramatic. I needn't have worried. I found this story brilliantly gripping, charming and emotional. I highly recommend this book.
