- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2020Format: KindleOut of all of Kasey Hill's poetry books, this is by far my favorite. It spoke to me on a personal level and made me tear up a few times.
I love her writing style. Some people call it narrative poetry. Her poetry comes across like a story in a book. It flows beautifully and leaves me wanting to read more.
My favorite poems in her book were: Sin, Morphine, and Child of my Heart.
I definitely recommend this book!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2017Format: PaperbackI was pleasantly surprised after reading this book of poetry. In sophisticated simplicity Kasey explores her dark domain and the light that she yearns for, seeing darkness itself as her route to that light. As Kasey is know for her association with horror these dark clouds come as no surprise. What touched me were the rays of light penetrating through. This book is a work worthy of attention for anybody who enjoys poetry. Yes there are disturbing parts but there are emotional, heart wrenching aspects which make the book one of humanity. Finally though these poems are written in free verse the poems are not obscure rather the poems definitely communicate to the mind, heart and soul. I suggest you buy this book as Kasey leads the way in the ever changing world of poetry. It is a step on the pathway of excellence.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2018Format: KindleKasey's writing is raw and real. In her words you can feel the pain and despair and some words written of hope and how to the light in your personal darkness., emotions run deep and there are messages behind the words if looked upon closely. A great writer indeed. I enjoyed reading beyond the words.
